After installing the latest PFPX update (1.17) I discovered that I was no longer able to enter flight plans into the FMC using "CO ROUTE." All PFPX flight plans created before the update will load without any problem. After some research I discovered that the flight plans (*.rte) in PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS are different than the flight plans in PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS/NGX. I moved one of the newly created flight plans from the NGX folder to the FP folder and was able to load the route into CO ROUTE. What I need to know is how do I redirect the NGX FMC to the PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS/NGX folder? The same issue is happening on the B777, but does not appear to be a problem for the B74…

Hello all. For years I have considered the NGX to be the granddaddy of them all, in terms of complexity/realism. I decided to leave it alone and have gradually worked my way up with other add-on aircraft that are a little less intimidating. A couple of these others are FMC type jetliners, so, after mastering them, I decided to finally take the plunge! This product is really nice. Great docs and tutorials. I very much appreciate the "everything running and ready to go" state that one can use to learn how to fly it first. I spent two days doing that, then yesterday decided to tackle a "cold and dark". Hi folks I have to laugh really. I must be either the most unluckiest or stupid owner of the PMDG 737 NGX! I have been simming for years. I only fly passenger jets including all the usual suspects (737 747 A319 A320). So I decided to trade up to the realistic PMDG 737 NGX. Having spent hours and hours researching Youtube videos on the NGX in conjunction with the training videos, I still cannot fly the first tutorial flight (EGKK to EHAM). I have tried to set the FMC up a dozen times. Although the information entered seems to be ok there always seems to be a problem with the SUGOL waypoint (and yes I did over copy the right one). Have had several unprompted autopilot and autothrottle disconnects on my PMDG B737NGX. I have checked basic Saitek Pro Yoke and dual Throttle Quadrants calibration (all OK). My BIOS clock and system clock appear to be in sync (a suggested possible cause). Has anyone had similar experiences? Also, pre today I used the left A/P, but it would not engage today. The right A/P worked fine. Why? I do not (yet) have any programmed or random faults in my set-up (yet!). Any information would be appreciated. B)

After a long wait for the NGX, I just treated myself with some xmas cash. Having just downloaded from the PMDG website, I am assuming that the version I have is all up to date with the service packs etc? It wasn't very clear in the installer notes Thanks, Glenn Harrall

Hey all! Firstly I hope you all had a good Christmas and ate well. I have been having a minor problem with the 737 for a while now to do with call outs on final. I'm not hearing any call outs indicating minimums or indeed 100ft above minimums. I do fly for several different VA's so obviously some call outs differ for every aeroplane I fly but I don't think that's the problem. I do have the call outs selected in the FMC and have clearly stated the 'BARO' reference on the PFD too. Can anyone offer any solutions here? Thanks.

My questions are: 1) How to choose which altitudes to put in the "forecast winds" of the descend page? 2) Where do I obtain these forecast winds for those altitudes? Should I use the winds above the arrival location? I use Active Sky Next, but it tells me nothing of these data for my route... 3) How can I put the forecast winds for each of my legs in the FMC? 4) What's the use of the "Average winds" given by Active Sky Next? Thanks!

Hi, my names Aaron, and I was wondering if there was a way or a setting to make the 737 preform a non geometric descent, has is 737 decisions with about 50 to 70% N1. And if I remember right the non geometric descent is when the FMC plans to descend at Idol power.

HELLO Wanted to use Virtual Avionics to put the cdu on my tablet and after inquiry we pointed out that I need the NGX sp1-c installed - surprisingly enough I did not do that before- So let's dive but .... "the setup has detected that no version of pmdg 737 8900 NGX is installed" - which is not true of course - the version is "Current with Build: 1.00.3118" in the aircrfaft.cfg- Could not find any appropriate answer on the internet- Sorry if the thread has been dealt with hundred times - Thank you for your help

Hello, I intalled the 737 and when I opened the fsx and choosen the PMDG 737 there were no activation window. And when I started to fly I can not use the buttons just the engines worked. What can I do that I can see the Activation window??? Adrian

I appreciate that this isn't a pmdg problem, however, I seek advice from NGX users. I bought the Virtual CDU ipad app, and I can get the app and the computer to connect ok before I click "Fly Now". But as soon as the NGX loads, the "VAInterface Lite" program crashes/stops working and subsequently the connection is lost. Does anyone use this app with the ngx? And have you experienced this? Do you have a solution? Brian Nellis.

As the title says I`m wondering how to takeoff from an intersection? Because in my opinion the V1 and Vr speeds changed in that way. I know there is an entry on the second takeoff-page. But entering less distance won't change the speeds. Anyone out there who may help?

My flight plan SEGS "OSELO 04N090W 06N090W 08N090W 10N090W 12N090W RAB UA770 NALDA UT21 CPE AXUDA UL207 IPSEV L207 SEAGL GILLL1" KIAH. I guess the NGX doesn't like to fly the W090, I lose LNAV from the second waypoint all the way till I get to RAB. After losing LNAV (the light is still active and illuminated) it will turn left until i manually correct it. Jump back on course and some time goes by and I lose LNAV again. It keeps happening unitel I get to RAB. Anyone duplicate or have an answer? I imagine it has something to do with the aircraft IRS system. Would this happen in real world as well? Michael

In my first attempt to paint the NGX 900 WL, I have had success all around except with the first section windows. There seems to be a misalignment of the windows. It there something I am missing? Everything seems to line up except the windows. I know that the 800 paint is slightly shorter, therein it has to be taken into consideration when decals/words are used in section 1. But, what about the 900? Is that the case, as well? I would love to post a picture of what I am talking about, but I don't see how to do that on this forum.

Experienced transfer bus 2 failure inflight at 9000ft. Lnav, vnav, n1, a/p a selected. Identified right away what had occurred as a result of multiple system failures. NNC TRANSFER BUS OFF actioned. APU was inoperative (simulated a departure with an APU M.E.L). Eventually got to the 'plan to land at the nearest suitable". My question is - is the TRANSFER BUS OFF Non-Normal Checklist (NNC) incomplete? Or am I meant to address EVERY SINGLE failure independently? I ask because, as soon as I landed, the ground horn was sounding; I initially thought it was one of the IRS's, but it was equipment cooling. hi, my names Aaron, and I was wondering ho I can get the taxi, landing lights to illuminate the ground from the external view? And I do have the landing lights illuminate the ground tab in the FSX settings checked, but they aren't lighting up the ground in the external views, just the cockpit view. Also is there a way to make the taxi lights seen from the cockpit brighter?

When i'm climbing to my cruise alt FMC FL390 and ATC only clear me to lets say 250 when i level off and VNAV ALT shows, then once ATC resumes my ascend to FL340, i punch in FL340, i then hit ALT INVT and i get a VNAV disconnect? Can anyone see if this happens to them aswell? I know there is a similar bug when descending as rfresh has already mentioned this.

Hi and merry Christmas to all B) I was just wondering why the "Actual wind" on the CRZ page in the FMC is not identical to what ND is showing. Is this normal ? CRZ page has 277/66 ND has 267/66 10 degrees between them Thanks everyone Update: Hmm it must have something to do with track vs heading i guess. Maybe it is explained in the FCOM....otherwise feel free to educate me B) heading is 10 degrees of vs track because of the wind. Michael
