Hi! I hit today a rather odd problem with NGX cockpit lightning. The dome light/storm light (or some other light like those) stays on all the time when the engines are running. If I want to darken the cockpit totally, it's not possible. Hitting Shift + L turns off all cockpit lights except this particular light. I haven't been able to turn it off. What makes this even more confusing is that the light appears only in Virtual Cockpit. Any idea? Here's a pic to demonstrate: As you see, there's a light in the cockpit. I've turned all cockpit lights off, but that light still appears.

I've made a flight to test the pressurization system and simulate a high cabin altitude situation. I've found that the system behave very strangely. The test was to do a climb to FL140 with pressurization system in manual mode and outflow valve fully open. This should cause to have a pressure in the cabin similar to the external. During the climb cabin vertical speed gauge was not working properly. After passing 10.000ft the cabin altitude horn sounded, this was nice and seems to work,as expected. Some time later PASS OXY light illuminated. This also works and passengers would start to scream. I also tried the Alt horn cutoff button, worked as expected. After th…

Hi all, I need some help to get Shockwave Redux for FSX work with PMDG 737-800W. From the Shockwave manual: PANEL.CFG Add the following line at the bottom of the [VCockpit01] section changing 'XX' to the next available number gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light However, in my panel.cfg there is no [VCockpit01] section - in fact, this all I find: [fltsim] alias=PMDG 737-800NGX\panel Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance... Simon

In the pmdg ngx if you switch the anti ice on without a bleed source or just apu bleeds, the lights go bright but not dim indicating the valve doesnt open fully. is this correct behavior? I thought the anti ice valves were electrically controlled. Also it is part of the pre-flight to check the operation of these valves if icing is anticipated during flight.

Stupid question it may-be but got me thinking! When on departure and climbing out, do you read the RADIO ALT or the BARO ALT ? I have been going off the RADIO ALT untill after 2500 AGL then switch to the BARO ALT to read my AA 3000 but this won't be 3000AGL like whats set in the FMC? ( i should mention climb thrust 1500AGL and Acc Alt 3000AGL) so if i read the BARO ALT 3000 this won't be 3000AGL or exactly above ground like whats set in the FMC so i'm actually going to Acc more or less than the true alt. Anyone see my confusion lol

Hi I am using the HUD more and more for ngx flight. It works really well and makes accurate hand flying much easier. I have noticed that when flying in strong winds the FPV drifts left and right of centre. Does anyone know why this is? Is it because the aircraft is left or right of track? Any help would be much appreciated . Regards RoyH

  9. My default panel state has the forward left door open, which should be connected to FSX's interpretation of the Main exit. This I believe is how GSX determines whether the door is open or not. However, when the aircraft spawns with this door open, FSX does not set the Main exit open flag, so GSX asks me to open the door. Best workaround is to double-click the LSK at FWD LEFT DOOR.

  10. I'm new to the 737...I can increase and decrease the screen fine but at some point, the screen goes to full (1.00) and I can no longer reduce (I like to run it at .6). Is there a way to get the screen zoom to start working again?

Hi all, I am new to PMDG NGX. I notice that on the default PMDG NGX 737-800 NGX aircraft there is a HGS combiner facility, which is not present on the re paint down loads (Ryanair and KLM) Why is this? And is it possible to insert that facility into re-paints? I had a quick look at the various aircraft Cfg.s, but don't want to do anything until some advice is forthcoming. Thanks in advance, Jaap.

  12. Hello, i had to uninstall FSX a month or so back...due to just accumlutation of problems and crashing, etc... build it all back up from the ground up. that much is accomplished. ( i have a couple dozen "Add-On's, sceneries, Patchs, fixs, updates, etc...) one thing i did this time, after hearing for "years'...that it is actually 'optimum'...to create and 'run'...the FSX program, in a different folder on your computer, 'other' than....Programs/Microsoftgames/etc..... i placed mine, one level under the C:/ drive.... Not buried 8 levels deep, in the Programs files. all seems to run ok there so far. but attempting to 're-install' the PMDG, and despite that …

The FCOM states that there are two automatic pressurization modes and that they should be switched each flight. Does the auto mode do this for the pilot, or should we run a flight in auto and then the next flight with the switch in the alt position?

I am departing KSNA with 31,400 lbs of fuel destined for KPHL, and am getting a flashing "CUTBACK UNAVAILABLE" warning as it flashes N1 86.1. All performance initializations have been programmed, including required v-speeds and CoG. I am usually able to do the cutback just fine, could I be too heavy this time due to fuel? If so, does that mean that any plane leaving KSNA is limited on fuel weight/range because of KSNA's noise abatement?

Hi All I have searched this forum to no avail. :( Just bought the 600-700 Extension and tried it for a short flight. On my way back to base I noticed a door alarme, look up and saw that the Overwing left and right door where iluminated, check outside doors appeared closed. Landed, tried to open and close both sides but the alarms light are still on. I imagine I have the latest updated version since I downloaded it today. Any Ideas? Bat

Hi guys, Thinking of purchasing a flight planner, have fscommander (free), really like the interface (only used it a little). Just wondering, is there is any reason not to buy the paid version, or should I buy pfpx (NGX & Q400 are my primary A/C, A2a 172, cherry and dodo are my secondary) ? Cheers Ivan

Hallo guys, I'm new on this forum and went through a lot of previous posts, but could not find anything related to my problem. I have flown the pmdg 737 ngx a few times and enjoyed it very much........suddenly when I loaded pmdg cold&dark setup and after I have connected ground power and done all the necessary steps to power the aircraft up, I was able to go into the fsx actions and the pmdg menus on the fmc. When I push the fmc button (LHK1) on the main menu of the fmc, to start with all my flight plan programming, nothing happened. I could not enter the fmc on the main menu. I also received a msg "Single fmc operation". Please guys....what am I doing wrong? Ive tri…

Hi all: I have been getting some annoying BSODs when flying the PMDG 737 NGX. I have not seen anything similar flying other aircraft. While I don't suspect the crashes to be caused by NGX, I'm wondering if there could be some kind of driver issue where NGX is looking for something on my system, like a driver, and I do not have the needed version installed. The error code or whatever you call the BSOD screen is: 0x0000009C Has anyone seen something like this or have an idea on how it can be occurring (driver, etc)? I'd like to announce the end of my 737NGX training videos. I have just completed the last 4 videos covering the MCP panel (these 4 videos were on the LNAV switch). This year (2015), I am embarking in a new direction in regards to making training videos. Many thanks to all of you in 2014 for the kind words and emails that I've received. And thanks again to my review team for helping to make these 737NGX videos the best they can be. The home page of my new training website provides more details on what I will be up to this year in regards to making new training videos. My new website is located here: www.7x7SimTraining.net

I'm wanting to find out what N1 % it takes for the NG or in the sim world the NGX to start moving those big rubber wheels. I know there is alot of factors involved, But here in the sim world with my bird fully loaded fuel and payload, it only takes 24 % N1 to start her moving then i increase the N1 to 30 untill 10kts then back to idle and adjust the N1 to hold taxi speed. Is 24 % N1 about right to start moving a fully loaded 737 NG? Cheers.
