Does anybody has the same issue? I can see landing lights and strobe lights illuminating ground when in external view only. No lights visible from VC. At night of course. I have "landing lights illuminate ground" enabled in settings. No shockwave lights installed. In FSX/Accel. and P3D v2 everything worked fine. (NGX version 1.10.6461) Kind regards.

I am looking to buy the Saitec yoke, and throttles, but my budget wont stretch to getting the rudder pedals as well just yet. Will that setup be worth it with no rudder pedals? I'm currently using a logitec joystick with twist rudder and I'm wondering if i am going to replace my joystick with the Saitec stuff, how will it work? Anyone done this? Cheers MIke Kear Windsor, NSW, Australia

Hello, I am looking into buying another 22" Monitor for FSX. I have looked up of FSX runs slower with 2 monitors then 1, and yes it does not to my surprise. I have heard that some cases it makes FSX unplayable and other cases a small drop in FPS. I AM planning on running FSX on the other computer rather than charts. Also would it matter if I hooked the 2 monitors into a graphics card or a TripleHead2Go. I have a moderate computer and these are the important specs. - AMD Athlon X4 750K Processor - XFX Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition Graphics Card - MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 Motherboard So all I would like to know is would I take a big hit on FPS if I would use FSX on t…

I have downloaded the latest Prepar3D 737ngx installer and wish to have a parallel installation so that I can use P3D v2 (which is already installed) until all addon installers are available for P3D v3. When I run the installer there is no provision or choice between v2 and v3, I am only asked if I wish to modify repair or delete my existing installation. I chose modify thinking that there would be an option to install v3 but the install did some sort of function, I noticed hardrive activity and a message appeared telling me the product had been installed. I checked my P3D v3 Airplane folder - no 737ngx. The forums are a bit vague on v3 installation procedures. Wha…

Hi everyone, Question here regarding a recent electric failure I had on a flight. It was a TRU 1 failure. The QRH says: DO not use AFDS approach mode and Autoland is not available an OM B from a european airline says: With any AP or both FD in approach mode, the cross bus tie relay will open upon glide slope capture. This results in a cascade of failures as TR1 is disconnected from its backup. Upon TOGA push all returns to normal. Solution: Use raw data Max 1 FD in APP mode AP on: VOR/LOC with V/S Now after I received the failure I checked the QRH and the OM B and decided to continue and do an autoland (which I never do normally unless the weather calls for…

Undertook the 737ngx 800 WL in taxi trials at Stansted (UK2000Xtreme) Aircraft had no issue with gauges/controls etc, however, when I closed Prepar3D down an error message that the pmdg 737 900 had generated errors was generated to check the P3D v3 log. Among some minor errors, a log of some 600 lines had been generated for the 737-900. At no time had I loaded this aircraft. I should mention that no errors were generated during runtime or the performance effected for the 737-800 Any probable causes for this error [error.165] error=Duplicate Section Name File: E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-900NGX WL\aircraft.cfg Section: SMOKES…

Hello, I have a very specific and reproducible issue with the NGX (no matter which version) during climb out of runway 34L in P3D v3. When passing the middle marker (and exactly then; tried it like 10 times) the sim freezes. Running GPU-Z I can see that the VRAM gets almost maxed out at 3900MB (I have 4GB). So I thought reducing details and thus VRAM usage would alleviate the problem, but unfortunately that is to no avail. Same persistent issue at the exact same time. All other aircraft I have tested are ok (PMDG777, standard P3D Bonanza). Here is my spec: i7 4790k, AMD R9 290X, 16GB RAM, Win 8.1., SSD I know that is such a narrow issue that probably no one can hel…

Hi All, I currently fly the pmdg 777-300 ER, this is the only add on aircraft I have now, uninstalled pmdg 747 and level-d 767. Looking to get 737 for short hauls, but the question is will I get 20fps with my rig details below. I get a pretty consistent 20fps with the pmdg 777-300ER now. Would like your advise before investing US$ 70 :-) . I7 920 OC 4 ghz. 6GB Ram @ 1300Mhz 2 x 60GB SSD , os and for fsx Gtx 660 with 2GB GSX, Multi Crew, and on DX10 with Steve's fixer installed I will be upgrading my PC middle of next year, so appreciate any advise, should I get tthe ngx now or should I wait. The reason for my concern is that I have read ngx is a fps …

I've been trying to fly a route around the US and hit every state along the way. I gotta keep my flights between 80 -200 miles so that I can complete them in an hour or two at night before bed. I've come to the point where some of these legs there no commercial routes for, so I have to come up with my own route, which isn't a big deal, I just have one question. Tonight's flight is from Roanoke to Norfolk. I went to the sectional chart to come up with a route, and I settled on the following: From Roanoke HOKEE2.LYH.V16.FAK.TERKS2 The HOKEE2 drops you off at HOKEE, from that point go direct to LYH and jump on the V16 airway to FAK, which is part of the TERKS…

I use PFPX for all my flight planning and now I do not seem to get a Cost Index number (I think I did before!!). All I get now is MACH: M.78 or LRC. When I enter the Cost Index into the FMC what figure should I be using. I hope that makes sense. Regards Colin

All - I was doing a flight in the 737-800 winglet variant from KMDW > KLAS. Halfway through the flight I was getting 70 knot headwinds at FL380. The flight was conducted on VATSIM with Active Sky weather. I was under MCP SPD , LNAV , ALT HOLD the whole way (Southwest flight) and at one point the autopilot couldn't keep its heading. It began banking steeply to one side and didn't correct. The flight director showed the proper action to take to correct and the control wheel wasn't correcting either. No control surfaces were interfered with and the autopilot was on the entire time. Why couldn't the autopilot correct or maintain heading in these strong winds? I'll also me…

All, a few "while I'm thinking about it" questions. I realize there are many different ways to do what I am about to ask, and depending on who you ask, you'll probably get a different answer. But I appreciate when anyone has input, or shares how they do things, so here goes. Takeoff - PreV1 forward pressure, V1, take off forward pressure and pull back, VR you'll be rotating and V2 your on your way.. In the cockpit you're following the F/D. Question is on the next sequence... I'll probably have VNAV armed at this time. I'll turn to try and click on the AP master so I can allow the plane to take over the vertical & speed. Recently I've seen the AP not engagi…

I downloaded the Norwegian 738 winglet repaint from the Op Center and one thing I noticed is the callsign in the aircraft.cfg file The callsign, in the fsx voicepack, is "nor shuttle" You have "norshuttle" fsx isn't going to call you that unless it's "nor shuttle" -David Lee

Hi, using certain transitions, I get an FMC message saying "No descent path after <insert waypoint here>".I checked for a route discontinuity, but there's none. Also, the altitude and speed restrictions in the transition absolutely make sense and are as found in the charts. I even tried to remove all speed/altitude restrictions except for the restrictions at FAF so the FMC could compute all the way down to the FAF, but still this message shows up. What exactly does that FMC message mean? Where's the problem here? What is the FMC trying to accomplish what apparently cannot be done? Thanks

I learned that as part of the descent planning you should recalculate your gross weight before you start your descent by comparing your fuel quantity and the calculated amount of fuel left at your destination seen on the PROG page and then substract this from your gross weight found on the INIT REF page. This to get a more accurate descent path and landing data figures but is there a rule exactly at what point you would normally do this recalculation in a B738?

Hi- Had a question: Would there be a way to move the acft model forward in the external spot view. Currently the view presents the model with the pivot axis forward of the center exits of the acft. When making a screenshot this leads to portions of the wing and rudder being cut off when zoomed in and the forward portion of the fuselage being a bit exaggerated. Purely selfish and am looking for better screenshots. Would appreciate any tips or tricks. Thanks a bunch.

Hi all, Using NGX under P3Dv2.5 since last week. I have a question about how to use the FMC. Like most of you, I have my flight plan input in my FMC and as I approach the arrival airport and descending toward my final intercept course for the runway, I wanted to create a solid line that extends out from the landing runway. I have been using FMC's runway end fix (input for ILS approach) and copying that over to the fix page and creating a radial from that with no distance. While this does serve my need, I see real life pilots responding to and very quickly making some input to the FMC when the PF says "runway extension please". What are the specific ste…

Hello I am in the process of setting up my new FSX STEAM system, all is going well. I have a few payeware airports and various utilities I will not be doing a lot of VFR flying but have been looking at payware software which provide scenery textures. I am looking for software that improves the default textures but no over expensive. I have been looking at FTX GLOBAL very nice but can mount up in price with the different additions. Any personal preferences or advice on any other scenery texture software would be most welcome Clive Alexander
