Hello! Was going to fly a delivery flight from KBFI to ENGM today, but encountered a problem shortly into the flight while entering enroute wind data on the route data page. Some of the waypoints was entered as for example N6630.0W08000.0, resulting in a waypoint called WPT1 in the FMC. When entering wind data, all the panels froze. PFD/ND froze, FMC didn't work, and no other functions worked either. Even tried disconnecting generator and battery, but nothing happened. Wind entry into "normal" waypoints work fine. Second picture below is after reloading of the saved flight (I can send this to PMDG if you'd like). Sorry about the grainy picture, saved them as GIF i…

All, Taking off from Tutorial #2's discussion about using real weather with Active Sky - The tutorial uses FS Build to generate a detailed .pln file to import into active sky - this method apparently interpolates between weather stations along the exact route. The alternate (without FS Build) is using AS's route planner, but as mentioned you can only use VOR's or NDB's, so its less accurate. I wish to find a happy medium between the two. For example, for the most part my routes are heavily used commercial routes readily available from FlightAware. I know the route.. I know the sids & stars - I just want to type in the route into some sort of converter for…

Hi! Just a thought that occured to me, I read through the specifications of FSPassengers for Prepar3d. And the failure function that exists in that program. Is anyone using that combined with the NGX and if so can Fspassengers trigger realistic failures for the NGX? so that they can be handled correctly or does it interfear with the NGX logic?

Hi guys i7 4790k 4.0ghz GTX 970 16GB Win 7 64 bit FSX Steam edition All the usual addons Orbx global, vector, active sky next plus a bunch of payware airports. I'm running DX 10 fixer using NVIDIA inspector. I have frames locked at 30FPS. All the usual tweaks through fsx.cfg, can provide more info if necessary. In the skies I generally get 30 FPS locked. When I'm below 10000 or on the ground at an airport in the VC it can drop as low as 10-15 depending on the airport in use. London EGLL and San Francisco hit the frames hard. In terms of settings i have compromised a lot on the sliders so they arent full right. I have traffic AI OFF and have …

Hi, Can't find it in my FCOM but in what conditions will the speedbrakes deploy on a RTO? I know one of them are "reverse thrust" but any other conditions and where are they listed? I rejected my takeoff below 80kts but speedbrakes did not deploy even though i used reverse thrust. Cheers!

Hello guys, I been using the NGX now for maybe 6 months, excellent bird and now I finally can say I been able to fly it on any situation (weather, failures, etc) so with that said I'm sure some of you want to be more and more realistic with this excellent bird, I would like to know if there is any resource, link, website, add-ons, etc that can provide the configurations for the displays and the equipment on the aircraft by airlines, I've seen on virtual airlines like Ryanair; they will provide you with the configurations so your aircraft will be similar to the real 737-800 that they use, so is this possible for other mayor airlines like united, American, southwest, etc?? …

I am not about to suggest redoing the forum rules, but lately I see too much misleading information in some threads. I call it that because in a recent thread regarding V1 speed (speedbrake deployment on RTO), rules and SOPs seem to be reinvented by some posters. That is serious business. I know we are talking about the sim, but sometimes things are talked about as in real life. Some people I can tell are real life pro's, offering very valuable and accurate information. And this information is often challenged or contradicted by other people that really make me question their real life credentials to write with such authority. Personally I have my commercial certi…

Here is my list: 1) Tire burst during a rough landing or during take off; 2) Damage report (for example, structural damage after a rough landing); 3) Random inoperative instruments or equipment before dispatch (MMEL); 4) Weather uplinking; 5) Tail strike damage simulation; 6) Realistic gear struts and better wing flex animation; 7) Better windshield rain animation (more blurred during heavy rain)... 8) Aquaplaning or reduced braking effectiveness on wet runways... 9) Take off performance depending on runway conditions (wet or dry)...

I posted this problem on on the FSrecorder site a couple of years ago and never received a response. The problem I experience with the 737 and FSrecorder is a "shaky" playback. What I mean by this is that in wing view and 3-D cockpit view the aircraft literally shakes during playback. This happens only with the NGX. It doesn't affect 2-D cockpit view. Occasionally I will have a non-shaky playback so I load this panel state (even though it has nothing to do with the playback route) before I do a playback and there is no shake. Anyone know what could cause this?

Just noticed that some ILS frequencies in the FMC aren´t correct. I had to look in FS Commander to get the correct frequency and course. This happened mostly on german airports, EDDF for example. Hasn´t happened so far on american ones. Maybe PMDG should check their database and see if they can correct the frequencies, that would be very nice.

On my Flight Management Computer on occasion I get the following message "TAI on above 10 degrees." What does that mean? Also, at altitude my 737 always shows much warmer air temp that wind aloft forecast. Any fix? Thanks,

Hi Guys I have flown to all my way points from Australia from Adelaide to Melbourne, and then the 737NG does not know how to navigate, I selected my STAR before Takeoff. Do I select a STAR before Takeoff?, or after Takeoff? If its after Takeoff, around what time do I select a STAR and fly to my Destination? As far as I know, the FMC will do everything to get me from Departure Airport to Destination Airport, so if someone can direct me to where I can get all that information, I would appreciated Kind Regards Tharanga

Hi. The way I have my FSX set up is the Poseidon has a separate .cfg file within FSX , and reading the P8 specs on different web sites,it has 6 extra belly tanks , a ,bit like some B737 BBJ`S , this gives extra range over the normal B737, IS IT POSIBLE to modify the CFG file , to give the extra fuel capacity to the cntr tank to replicate these belly tanks , so it has the correct range, or will it mess up the FMS fuel/range calculation within the FMS. Also the crew for the P8 is 9 crew members , and if the rear cargo hold is loaded as if it was the bomb bay , then the aircraft could be loaded as if it was the p8 as opposed to the b737. Regards alan cottrill (SO666)

I noticed today that when I am taxiing to the active runway the heading that I set before I started moving kept changing as the direction that I was taxiing in changed. I have never seen this before. Normally before I taxi to the active, I will set the runway heading in the heading selector prior to arriving at the runway. It 737 would only allow me to do this, once I taxied out to the active and lined up for takeoff. Is this normal, or am I overlooking something.
