The house PMDG 737 800 initialise at all times, but after downloading a Airline livery from either de CD or Operations Center these initialise the first time but not when attempting to use the same livery the second time what could be the problem, this only occurs with the 737, 800 either WL or the other, I have no such problem with the 737-900 liveries.

I am convinced that either the drag coefficient (in the programming) or the air brake efficiency are incorrect for the 737. I am aware that it is a slippery beast, but so are the 777 and the Airbus series. Slowing down the 777 & Airbus is no great problem, whilst at descent rates of anything over 1,000 f.p.m the 737 actually accelerates & constant use of the inefficient air brakes is required. This is not true to real operation of a 737. Yes I do use F1 to check the throttles are fully retarded & the problem remains if fully using Vnav. Does anyone have any suggestions re the problem, as it spoils the realism of an otherwise fantastic aircraft. Tonym

I'm wondering how pmdg 737ngx works with windows 10 and fsx SE. I have the pmdg 777 and it works great especially after the last update, even in and out of airports like FB ksfo hd and dreamfleet airports. I have iFlys 737 and after I upgraded to win 10, it just sucks up memory then OOM. It's also real jerky and brings down the frame rate to single digits. But no one at their forum has that problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I had the legacy pmdg 737 back years ago and now I want a 737 that will work. My Level D works and MJC dash 8-Q400 is great, but I want to use the 737 for short trips too.

Before I get into what I want to talk about, here is a little background on me. My last four years of flying and learning systems aircraft that are as close to real as possible has been with Digital Combat Simulator and their A-10C they developed for the Air National Guard. From there I went on to the Ka-50 and eventually the Mig-21, but the A-10C was always my first and favorite. I remember reading the manual for 3 months before I even took to the air. Sure, I flew in FSX before that, but I never invested in payware. Last year, I decided to take the plunge and fully immerse myself in flying as real as you can get airliners on Vatsim. There was really only one choice…

On several occasions after landing & taxying to the stand, white smoke is streaming back from under the fuselage. This carries on non stop, even after stopping engines. What is this supposed to represent? Is it overheated brakes or snow? Tonym

  6. Hi, I have a Saitek yoke an pedals that I am using with the PMDG 737NG and FSX. I would like to know if someone knows to what sensitivity (to what % of full sensitivity) the different controls i.e. roll, pitch, yaw and brakes must be set to represent the actual behaviour of a real 737NG. Thanks.

Hello, I have the PMDG 737NGX on disc, but I have the Expansion on download through Aerosoft. I get a message when I try to install the expansion. I've never had this before as I recall. I had an issue with FSX so that's why I am reinstalling. Untitled by thomsonairways737, on Flickr Kind Regards Adam Moore

  9. Been flying the 737 for many months. Lately I notice that if I select Vnav and heading select prior to takeoff, when I line up and hit TOGA, both the heading and V Nav light on the MCP both go out, and I have to reselect them after liftoff. Am I doing something wrong, or did I just not notice this before?

  10. I've been flying a lot more lately, and it's been awhile since I've done so regularly and I used to be able to fly the NGX like a champ... However both of my landings have either ended in a disaster or near disaster due to badly programming the ILS landing (the second one I just manually landed and had weird issues getting to the ground, more on that in a second). The first issue was, the plane comes in for the auto landing, and descends at 3200 ft/s while being only 1900 ft above ground. This... Is not safe methinks. I stopped that flight and decided to go again the next day. This time the auto land would not even descend and even went up at one point it should have sta…

Hello, I was flying with one engine out (failure at V1 cut). I was flaps 5 (speed about 180 m/ph I ama not sure) and suddenly the flaps moves by themselves to flaps 15.. I do nothing on the flaps. Is there an automatic deployment off the flap under spécific circumstances ? (I know for the slats near stalling but for the flaps). Ido the same the flight a second time and same thing occurs. Thank you

  14. Completed a reinstallation of FSX Acceleration on its own SSD. Installed FSGenesis Landclass & Mesh Installed ORBX Global, Vector and Southern California. Then installed the NGX. When I select the aircraft (doesn't matter which of the three), the graphic appears and rotates about one degree every few seconds and FSX can only be closed through the Task Manager. I realised when I first (re) installed it I still had some files in my Appdata/Roaming/ etc folder which I then subsequently removed after performing another re-install - along with the PMDG folder in FSX. I've run a registry checker and a manual search for PMDG and the only results are for the Oper…

I currently have PMDG 737 NGX , and I want to upgrade to PREPAR 3D . I was wondering if Prepar 3D has a virtual copilot add-on like PMDG, or if I can use my virtual copilot add-on from my old programs.

  18. Hello, I had a question regarding the descent phase of the flight. I've just started using weather (Active Sky) and I'm coming in a bit 'hot' on my descents. To hopefully avoid other pitfalls (from threads that I've read): Here's how I'm setup... I'm flying from KSMF -> KLAX with a cost index of 40 and a descent speed limit of 284. I'm flying the SADDE6 STAR and my first magenta marker is 280/12000 at SYMON. My typical cruise altitude is FL350, I have wind data programmed into cruise waypoints before T/D. I have wind values programmed at FL300, FL240, FL180 but I'm still a little high (according to the DES page on the FMC between 18,000 and my first res…

Hi, When I enter my flight data in the FMC most of the time all goes well, v1, vr, v2 are calculated and shown on the display. But in some cases, the display still shows No Vspeed in yellow: I start looking around, clicking, but no way I can get the speed bugs to show... What did I do wrong? Thanks, Tony

Hi, First of all, please excuse my slight ignorance on this matter but I am having problems trying to get my head around how to link FSUIPC to the complete NGX overhead. I will explain - I am in the process of construction my 737 cockpit and have got to the stage where I wish to wire up the annunciators and switches. Most annunciators have been wired up successfully but I have hit a bit of a stumbling block with the switching. All switches are, or are going to be, wired through Leo Bodnar BU0836X cards and so far I have been able to utilise some switches through FSUIPC and mouse macros but unfortunately, not all the switches on the NGX overhead allow the use of …

Dear All When a headwind is entered on TAKEOFF REF 2/2 page on line 1 left (LSK1L), the FMC decreases the V1 speed, why? A runway headwind component affect the acceleration, therefore the FMC should show a higher V1. Michael

hi guys, I am trying to wrap my head around a couple of basic concepts that are still unclear to me. If i could have your feedback and put me on the right direction that would be great. (ps sorry for the non technical lingo here...still learning) 1) Following tutorial 1 and 2 i tried to build my own flight emulating a real Southwest flight that takes place daily from KMDW to KBWI. The actual route is on Flight Aware and I noticed that some way points are not available in FSX and I assume this is because FSX navdata are old and obsolete. So my question is, do you guys fly the 737 using FSX ATC or not at all (which makes it quite unrealistic)? if yes how do you deal …

Hi, still learning the FMC.. I have Navigraph and PFPX. If I plan a route, I add the SID and STAR for the the runways in the FMC. However, I have no idea which one to choose for my particular route. I know that if you pick an runway, it shows the appropriate, possible SIDS and STARS, still a lot to choose from.... I try to find these somewhere in programs and documentation, but no luck until now. I pick one that seems kinda ok, stepping through the legs, sometimes end up with spaghetti Where/how can I find the options available in the FMC on charts? (Would save me some fuel too ;-) ) thanks, Tony

Hi, Back in 2006 there was some (alot) incidents or pilotlogs regarding IRS issues (737-400). I am not going to go into that discussion but from the FCOM2 chapter 11.20.8 NG (6-900) schematic i can tell that FCC A (Autopilot A) is getting roll information from IRS 2 FCC B. I am just trying to understand the logic behind it thats all. If someting went wrong with either IRS the Autopilots disconnects (as it should) but it seems like there is no option to use Autopilots anymore with this schematic ? Boing has designed it that way and with very good reasons I am just wondering why and want to learn  There were a case (in bad weather and crosswi…
