Hello I was wondering at which point prior to pushback you guys request your IFR departure clearance for flying on vatsim. would you do it just before or after inserting your FMC data and flight plan, or would you do it immediately after startup? just hearing out people’s preferences and reasons as to why. regards

Hi everyone I have noticed this for years and just put up with it but thought someone might know what the problem is. When I land and pull the throttles to idle there remains some residual thrust in the engines until I push the throttles forward a bit again and then back to idle. It only happens with the PMDG B737. I have the PMDG B777 plus TFDi B717, Flight 1 Mustang, Vertex DA62 and have no issues with any other aircraft.

Question 1: Why doesn't the spoilerons go up fully on the 737 PMDG NGX when testing for controls, or just flying in general. I notice in real life they go all the way up but on the 737 pmdg they go up like 2/4 of how much they should. Is there a way to fix it in the .cfg or something?? Here is an example. Question 2: Why when I go to the wing view for roleplay purposes why do I hear the exterior sounds and the cockpit sounds. It is really annoying. Wish I had the muffled realistic interior sounds. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!!! Hopefully, someone can reply with help for at least one of the questions if not both!

Hi all: Does anyone know if the braking action with Autobrake is affected by the runway condition? Of course in the RW the braking action is definitely affected by water or other contaminant on the surface. I just wondered whether PMDG had gone to that length depending on the WX. Hi everyone I take off from Airport A to go to Airport B without any route programmed in the FMC (flying all manual - not realistic, I know). In the middle of the flight, I want to use the autopilot to fly direct to a waypoint. Since I have no route in the FMC, I can't insert a new waypoint or line select an existing one. Is there an easy way to make a one-off Direct To or the only solution is to enter a route in the FMC during the flight and then insert a waypoint ? Thanks

I came across an interesting accident re-enactment on the FlightChannel on YouTube. This was the crash of Helios Airways Flight 522. The highly experienced pilots misinterpreted the cabin pressurization alarm with the takeoff configuration alarm which sounded identical. This was on a 737-300 I think. The alarm went off at 10000 ft and they couldn't understand why the takeoff configuration alarm was sounding while in the air when it is only suppose to sound on the ground. Is there a way to save the size and position of the NAV PF and FMC pop up displays? I run the sim over 3 screens and I have to set them each time I load the aircrafts? I wonder if it is possible to know the xy coordinates of the position and size and to store them modifying the .cfg file. Thank you

As the topic states, I am now experiencing a mini second mouse curser when undocking the CDU's. It only occurrs when I undock the CDU and when the main mouse curser is over the undocked CDU. I'm running the latest 737ngx in P3Dv4 hotfix 1 and up to date win10. A few weeks I noticed a thread about this but I just cannot find it and I was wondering if there was a solution to this?

Hello, Today I flew with PMDG 737-900 in rainy weather(P3D V4). So, I turned the wiper switch on in the overhead panel. It worked normally from virtual cockpit view. But when I saw it from the outside view, the wiper didn't move at all. (It looked like it stuck in the parking state even though I turned the switch ON.) By the way, the PMDG 737-800 Series were OK. Only the 900&900ER Series had this trouble. When I send a ticket to PMDG Supports with different 737NGX problems before, they said that I have to wait until the NG3 release. Hi During alignment of the IRS the GPS on the ground from the default PMDG cold and dark panel state there seems to be changing values of the GPS data whilst the plane is not moving, additionally once the IRS's have aligned there is a disagree between IRS L and IRS R. FCOM VOL 2 (11.20.5) illustrates the procedure of this process. Once sufficient DC power is supplied I switch both IRS gyros from off to nav. I verify that white align indication is displayed and not flashing. I then monitor the time taken for them to align which is on the realistic setting, as stated in VOL 2 (11.20.5) I enter the reference airport in the FMC and go to POS REF page 2. On page …

I had to hand fly up to FL130, and am unable to engage CMD/A, however I can engage CMD/B. Even when trimmed and flying level on all modes. LNAV, Heading, etc etc. As far as I can see everything is executed in the CDU. And there are no errors on the overhead. I was wondering if it was to do with the Master option, IE the F/O or captain? I can't remember how to change this? But I might be doing something different. I have not seen this before? I am not sure if it is a fail or just me forgetting something. I would love to know what it is before I land? Thank you Jools

Hello all: After installing the latest version of NGX I am seeing some unusual behavior in loading panel cfgs. At start up, I have specified NGX Short, which works fine. However if for some reason I need to close FSX during a flight and save the flight, when I reopen the flight later the correct panel cfg does not load with the FSX flight. Instead I see the cockpit but the "warm up time" does not occur and the panel screens are blank and buttons or switches do not respond. This behavior started after installing the latest update. Hello all: Occasionally it is useful for me to run an FSX flight in slow time, 1/2 real time, for a period while I attend to another matter away from the computer. I run FSX Boxed. Earlier versions of the 737 NGX apparently did not support 1/2 time as the aircraft would lose control and drift down to crash if left unattended in 1/2 time. Does anyone know if this is still the case with the latest version, which I just installed a couple weeks back? Thanks in advance Rick

A very unusual thing has happened after a complete reinstall of Windows 10, Prepar3D v3, and many other utilities and addons in my PC. When I start P3D v3 and select PMDG 737 in the initial screen I got a black screen that remains frozen until I stop it through the Task Manager. This doesn't happen with other planes that have a normal behaviour and can be flown normally. The default and some purchaded ones have also a correct behaviour. I unistalled and reinstalled P3D once more to see if it helps, but no results after it. Before the overhaul, I didn't have any problem with PMDG planes which I've flown for a long time. Hello 🙂 ! I want to create realistic tiller/pedals regarding gear ratio, I have full control of HW and PMDG SDK-interface. Since it is default controlled only by pedals in PMDG, they also confirm it is not full realistic. I have been trying to install PMDG 737NGX into FSX Steam. It tells me that my registry does not show a path for FSX's install folder. FSX Steam was put in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX , but no registry entry for it. How do I get PMDG to install? JimF

Hi, I recently purchased the PMDG 737 NGX software. In spite of what is written in the documentation PMDG does no longer provide the Flight Crew Training Manual and the FCOM. The only way to get familiarized with the aircraft is by using two tutorials, but this is very basic. Who can advise me where to obtain the two PDF files mentioned? Thanks for your help.. Henk

Hi all, I want to control the CDU of the PMDG 737NGX P3Dv4 via SimConnect. As a first test, I would like to connect a ground power unit, so I am sending these events with via SimConnect by writing into the PMDG NGX control area struct: "EVT_CDU_R_MENU", Value = 1 "EVT_CDU_R_R5", Value = 1 "EVT_CDU_R_L3", Value = 1 "EVT_CDU_R_L2", Value = 1 That is equivalent to "MENU" -> "FS ACTIONS" -> "GROUND CONNECTIONS" -> "GROUND POWER". This sequence is working exactly once: As I am inserting delays of 1 second between the events, I can see that the CDU inside of the airplane is doing what I expect. Hello there I have been using the PMDG 737 NGX for about 3 years and its just simply an awesome product. Shortfalls? yes but it is true that what is superb exponentially outweighs what is not so good. I have come across several posts on other sites recently that seem to hint that PM are just about to launch an updated version of the 737 NGX and that it is due to be rolled out to beta testers in the next few weeks.
