Started a clandenstine run in the C-46 without checking the full load. Once I was in the air I noticed I only had 11% fuel on board. The co-pilot called me out on it and said we would have to devert to a field preferably without a control tower and refuel. No way I told him we were going all the way! Well, lucky for me it was a short flight from St. Paul island to St.George island. Still had to sweat it out as there is nothing but water between the islands, go figure. 16 miles out at 10,000 feet and 6% fuel remaining I leveled out and started the decent at a 50% power setting. Started a long straight in final apporach with 5% remaining in the tanks. Touched down and taxi…

The last few days I have been searching out night time clandenstine flights using the C-46 at 10 to 20,000 feet. Mostly back and forth between Adak and Atka in Alaska, very dark out there. There always seems to be a lot of clandenstine jobs turning up in that area. Seven trips and 187,479 xp later I had my 2 million + xp. For all the good it does! Just for my own satisfaction I guess. Think I will go back to daylight in Hawaii for awhile to bask in the beautiful scenery and the Carbon Cub again.

Based on the trouble I had finding this one originally, I think it should be worth 5K points. Some found it without much trouble though. Guess I was a bit off that day. Enjoy.

Not certain how many of us exist in here, but we should choose a point in time and an airport and make an effort to have a get together. Is this just me being sentimental? or does this idea have more than butterfly wings? I appreciate we are spread far and wide in different time zones but that's all part of the challenge.

Should be fairly easy to find. Seems like we've seen this one more than once. Enjoy. Looks like we've got aerocache problems yet again. I just checked this one, and it said "Aerocache Not Available". Loki, where are you?

Aerocache hunt has been reduced to 0? Are we starting all over again or what? Aeroccache of the day is not available. And good night Mrs. Calabash, where ever you are.

Got ya, One of my favorite places in Hawaii, Ke'e beach, Kauai. We once had a timeshare in Princeville some years ago. Loved to drive to the "end of the road". And I mean virtually "the end of the road". It just comes to an end because it runs into the formidable Na Pali coast. It ends at a dirt parking lot. This also is the beginning of the Kalalau trail head. A very interesting hike to some beautiful scenic vistas, hidden falls and very secluded beaches. Any way just a short walk from the parking area is Ke'e beach. Been here many times, swimming and snorkeling is fantastic. Start at Princeville airport and fellow the Hwy north along the coast until the r…

In my Flight profile, it says I've landed at 235 unique airports. Does anyone know where this list is kept, or does it just store the total and increment it whenever I land at a new airport? TIA

I have been doing a lot of clandestine cargo runs with the C-46 as of late. Atka to Adak in Alaska, about 90 miles. Desided to see what the female co-pilot would say about a nice loop when we were at 15,000 feet heading directly toward the distination marker. She really let me have it. " Oh, I don't think we are supposed to pull this many g's. I think I heard the cargo slamming around back there! I don't think the clients will take kindly to damage. Your not really keeping a low profile. It's my butt on the line too. So please dont mess this up." Well, we landed without incident. When I checked the job board, low and behold, there was a return clandestine flight right bac…

Hello everybody. My airport count is now up to 165. Where are you all at? Mine's been going up recently after I started linking my jobs. i.e. I take a job, and when I get to the destination airport, I pick a job there. (Bouncing around Alaska obviously, I know I've hit everywhere in Hawaii.) (Previously I've landed at a couple of water strips, just for the sake of it, but otherwise it's all land based.)
