WOOHOO!! A new AOTD and this one is in Alaska. Don't know if this is one of the player submitted ones or if it was in the original mix, but glad to see it. Enjoy.

Hi, not too experienced on this game, just level 12. I played some Free Flight tonight with the Carbon Cub, had no issues, that thing takes off in its sleep, hard to get it not to take off, that bugger wants to get off the ground. Then I tried some light cargo missions with the C46 and the Maule, for a couple of hours, and I couldn't get either one to take off properly. I could steer them ok at low speed to get them into proper taxi and takeoff positions, but the faster I went on takeoff the planes veered sharply to the right, no matter what I did. Every time. I switched jobs, airports, went back and forth from Logitech Extreme 3D Pro to mouse and keyboard. Didn't m…

When I first install FSX and Flight the sound system is fine. After a short time the engine sounds stop coming through the headphones and start coming through the speakers even though the headphones are plugged in. I did not think this was possible from a hardware point of view so it may be a problem with the plug. However when using the phones for music etc they work fine. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not sure what's going on with the AOTD's, but this is a repeat of 10/27. I'll check this later and see if changes. Usually if there is a problem, we are greeted with Haena Beach.

Keep your eyes peeled for this one. If I remember, the cache icon didn't show up until I was very close. Enjoy.

I just booted Microsoft Flight and was greeted with the update notification. Everything went well and all my data was intact. Go for it. Thanks to the MS Flight team who were involved in getting this corrected.

Yesterday I restarted Aerocache Hunting :-) I didn't have a backup of my career from the previous install of MS FLIGHT a few months ago... I summed up 117 aerocaches with the one I picked yesterday, but when I started MS FLIGHT today I found only 115 as the number of aerocaches hunted :-( Yesterdays Aerocache was already in my list (it was marked) but there was another one not marked that I hunted. Today's AOTD was not marked, but I somehow recall having already hunted it (?). Anyway, I went for it and the total is now 116, but yesterday I had 117 :-( Also restarded the various activities I had already done - I had all of Hawaii and Alaska activities completed…

Quick summary as to why I love MS Flight: Better graphics (by far) Better performance More realistic flight model Incredible lighting (fly low early in the morning or late at night and you'll see what I mean! More stable Better sounds (by far) More realistic water landings. Can bounce off water with tundra tires. Better crash effects (better collision model - can scrape trees) Trees look far better Water looks far better More realistic wind and turbulence effects. Better clouds Better aircraft graphics overal (shadows, appearance of glass, internal lighting/reflections/feel of immersion in aircraft, and yes I'm comparing with available payware) I don'…

It seems that there are still a few hiccups with the Flight system. Just to be safe, I would recommend that you back up your "Career" folder regularly. It doesn't take but a couple of minutes and is good insurance. I hadn't done this for a few weeks, but after seeing yesterday's AOTD problem, it reminded me that I needed to back up. See this link to the article. It appears this addresses some crash problems we've experienced. http://forum.avsim.net/page/index.html/_/pri-news/microsoft-announces-update-for-flight-r739

It seems the problem with the AOTD for today has been corrected. Haena Beach has been replaced with Lokoaka Pond. I haven't verified if this is collectable, but go for it anyway. Enjoy.

It appears that there is a problem with the AOTD again. The cache is showing as Haena Beach on Microsoft Flight's site, and also within the sim. It says "Aearocache of the Day" unavailable. Hopefully it will be fixed quickly.

After playing Flight for a while, I have a few questions. I think I've figured a couple out but would still like verification on those as well. 1) How can I determine how much fuel to take on a trip? The job says transport 900Kg of Cats or something and I have a light aircraft! Next the invisible copilot says we have too much fuel to take off, followed by a comment that we don't have enough fuel and need to land as soon as possible and refuel. I confuse! 2) How can I gain altitude quickly without stalling? I have mixture set to 'auto' in options because I'm a noob and don't want to mix my planes drinks. Some of the challenges have steep climbs through hoops a…
