Hi everyone,I figured out how to make the ATC use proper types. Normally the ATC doesn't recognize your type calling only "... this type ..." (says nothing). In oder to have it "... this type British Aerospace Jetstream", change the entries in your aircraft.cfg to the following ...atc_type=BRITISHAEROSPACEatc_model=JS41Best regards, Oliver

Hi,just a short question. I'm in the process of squeezing out a few fps here with the config panel. It also gives you the option to change the refresh rate of some instruments. However those are only marked as percentage.The question is what 100% relates to. What is the max refresh rate in times per second? Best regards, Oliver

Are the VHF 1 and VHF 2 rotary push-buttons on the Audio Control Panel (ACP) INOP? I cannot rotate or push them.The FSX ATC volume seems to be very low compared to the cockpit sound level. How can I monitor the second VHF radio (without switching MIC)?Thanks,Gerhard

hi,i need some help with autopilot navigation mode in j41,my aircraft does not seem to be tracking the route fed into fms though nav button shows armed ,but there is no response from the aircraft,it does not deviate from the existing heading to follow the flight plan,seems like i am flying around in circles,the aircraft does not seem to respond to changes made in heading as well though the heading button is on, is there some minor issue i am missing out onvivek

Silly question probably but untill now I use the FSX flight planner to make my flight plan.The FMS of the JS 41 does not accept flight plan from FSX flight planner, I have read the instruction and I understand I must enter the different waypoint.My question is how the hell do I know the name of the different waypoint or airways to use if I want to go from point A to point B ?Is there any freeware alternative to the two programe mentioned in the tutorial (FSBuild and FSNavigator) ?Or is there any site where I can found the name of the waypoint and airways so that I can enter them into the FMS ?Thanks in advance.Arnaud de Saint Hilaire

Is there a way to get the start locks applied once the engines are down?? The tutorial flight saves the aircraft with the props in the feathered position, and so there is no way to start the engine. I admit I haven't been able to get through the entire process, as the bulk of the information I'm reading is under the guise of the props already being in the start lock position. Jon

If I set the bearing pointer control knobs on the EFIS display controller to LNAV the corresponding bearing pointer on the EHSI with full compass display disappears.Thanks,Gerhard

Can anyone tell me if there is a 'Track miles to Destination' figure on one of the FMS pages. It may be through lack of knowledge but I don't find the VNav feature very accurate in maintaining a 3 deg descent. I much prefer to work out the descent profile myself using the 3 times rule, the problem is, if there is no VOR/DME beacon nearby it makes this very difficult. Most FMS units have this figure somewhere like Progress Page 1 on the Boeing FMS.Glen

So, in advance sorry if this is the case... :( Something strange with the pressure indicator that might have slipped through development and beta phases. - With no hyd pressure (eng shut down) and with accumulator pressure reading zero (intentionally with several "pedal pumps"), the the brake pressure indicators needle still move and show pressure when brake pedals are depressed. Didn't seem normal to me so I though I may report this and ask if this is right(?)... Or maybe there's always some kind of residual pressure left ?? The situation:Medium hop from Nice to Friedrichshafen (FDH)So I'm feeling lazy and decide not to bother trying to re order my brain for the j41 FMS so I'll fly in the correct general direction and then pick up the Friedrichshafen VOR and land.First problem...try as I might, I can't tune to the Friedrichshafen VOR on nav1. Set the frequency OK but it picks up nothing.So...no problem, I'll just start up the FMS and enter Friedrichshafen as a direct too.Second problem...How do initialize the FMS in flight?

Your J41 rocks but I really do wish you would have implemented the 2D cockpit for people like me who dont have a monster computer. who else agrees? :(

Is it possible to make a flightplan without using SIDs and STARs? If I fly with FSX ATC there's no point in using them anyway, and for a short test flights I'm trying to do (50-100nm) they just go around in circles :)Greg

Hi,i have the following problem:- after the JS41 is loaded, sound output is limited to the front channels only. I use XP SP2, SB Audigy 2 ZS, Logitech THX Quadrophonic system....as surround sound is very importend for me, it would be nice if someone could help here ;)Best regards,J

Just curious if anyone else is having any issues getting the spoilers to deploy. I arm the spoilers on the ground prior to takeoff, apply reverse thrust during the landing roll, the "green" spoilers deployed light never lights, and the spoilers never deploy. Hello all,I've been watching for the J41 release and see here most people are pretty happy with it. It sounds like a great mix of technology and need for pilot skill, which sounds very good to me. (I have the MD-11 and love it, but have gotten rather lazy with all the automation available...) My question is, how much of the GNS/XLS is modeled in the sim? I've downloaded the RL manual and simulator from Honeywell (GNS/XLS Simulator) and think it would be very nice in an FSX plane, where I can have the FMS run LNAV plans, holds, etc. but just advisory info on climbs & descents, but:1. I dunno bout you guys, but the FMS is throwing me for a loop. I've managed to build my own flight plans just fine so far, but it's such a different animal to get used to vs. the MD-11 and the Boeing systems. When I hopped in the MD-11, using the FMS was very natural to me...now I get into the J41 and feel like such a tool 'cause I am still fumbling my way around learning it. Everything else is a snap. I've only fried one engine, and my landings have been pretty good. This thing is such an incredible joy to hand-fly, it's surreal. I didn't even use the A/P until my 5th flight or so. Tonight i spent 1 hour on the Navigraph Ndac planning for a route "YSSY to YBCS", taking in account, weather and wind. After 30 min "Start up and taxi" i took off, it's was nice when i saw that the NAV wouldn't be green "active" or yellow "armed" at 2500 feet... Yes, another bugNo, FMS hold, trim on the load sheet, cold and dark, damage generator, RXP, Smooth more like a FSX plane than an Addon...+ some heavy bugs.I was the one who made the post : Congratulation PMDG team. Hi, I just got the JS41 and ir runs super slow on my system. I was wondering if yuo had TrackIR with this plane, would it be laggy? Like when you move your head to the side would the motion be slow on the screen or how really does TrackIR handle a plane with bad frames. Thanks,Jeff

I watched the video, scanned the manuals, and read "downscc" excellent post here http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=259267 on how to start the PMDG JS41 engines. Again, this email is in 3rd grade English as I am not a writer or a pilot but here goes... Just follow the start procedures you have been laboring thru to start the engines THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the startup procedure IMO is to hit the feather button on the middle console prior to hitting the start engine buttons.
