PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Why everyone says it doesn't work? It works for me. I use mouse wheel to tune it and it works fine. Just had to get used to it, if you turn the wheel too fast it tunes 100s firs, have to slow down to tune 10s.Greg

Sitting on the tarmac and having the condition lever in FLIGHT position with the power levers all the way forward, the EGT goes over the limit by about 30 degrees. I was expecting an engine "melt down" but to my surprise nothing happens. After a little bit, the EGT falls back to its limit without me touching anything. Is this normal? Thanks and best regards,

when i activate the cockpit flood lights in the js41 i see a nice glow from the cockpit on external views when i'm flying at night, but the passenger cabin is dark. is there a switch somewhere to turn those on? i searched for "cabin lights" in both the manuals without success.thanks, andy crosby

  5. If any of you guys are using a PFC throttle quadrant system and are having the engine start problem, this might be a fiox for you. It was for me.After spending some 10 hours of trouble shooting my no engine start problem I discovered that I had a file in my modules folder which was causing a conflict. the PFC throttle quadrant requires the PFC.dll ver. 4.34 to operate and somehow there was a copy of the PFC.dll ver. 2.307 which belongs in the FS2004 modules in my FSX modules folder. After removing ver. 2.307 I fired up the JS41 and went through the engine start sequence without any problem.I hope this may be of some assistance to some who are having engine start proble…

I'm so spoiled flying heavies where the FMC provides you the ILS frequency. So what do most folks do for the JS41? Do you print out charts for each airport you fly into? There's the FSX map option, but you have to pause the sim to use that. Any other ideas?Curt

Hi Folks,I'm trying to take a flight in the JS41 from KAPA in Denver. For some reason I cannot get the engines to start, the RPM's build very very slowly and the starter switch doesn't click off. However the EGT's remain below the limit and there is no engine fire.Is there something I need to do because of the altitude of the airfield at 5793ft?ThanksRob

Interesting! First there is an icebuild-up, and then in warmer environment, the ice doesn't melt, but breaks of and causes a flameout!http://www.aaib.gov.uk/cms_resources.cfm?f...AJE%2008-07.pdfRegards,Wijnand (EHBK)edited for spelling

First, I want to say thanks to Capt. Randazzo and the JS41 development team. The JS41 is incredible and I have really been impressed by it. I think you guys definitely have a winner in the JS41.After I bought the JS41, I read the manuals and completed a few flights by following the tuturiol line by line. After that, I did some custom flights on my own. When I tried a vectored ILS approach, I could never get the autopilot to capture the ILS. I went thru all the steps outlined in Chapter 4 of the AOM (set inbound course, ILS freq set as the active freq, V/L mode selected in the EHSI display controller, HDG and APR autopilot buttons selected). I also followed page 91 …

Hi guys, over on the AH developer forum we've been discussing this fantastic aircraft and working out what's necessary to get it working in the add on.One question we've not been able to answer is why it is necessary to press the "Go Around Button" on the throttle, as per the tutorial, and exactly what it is for.One tester has not bothered to press it in his start-up routine and says it made absolutely no difference to his flight, or the aircraft's performance. So, anyone know the answer to this (rather than guessing - which we can do :( )?TiAJD

Hi I know the JS41 radar is inoperative, but if Im not incorrect I read in the pilots tutorial that PMDG staff is working on the radar display. Does it mean that a weather radar will be available for our JS41 someday? Asier

Just purchased the Reality XP Wx500 to use with my new JS4100 - I am loving the plane and need the radar to negotiate all the weather one finds at 16,000 ft :)One small disappointment, though, is that in the J41 even the RXP Wx500 popup only displays as a black rectangle with the green hotspots when you mouse-over. I can live with the hotspots on the panel, but why can't the popup display the complete RXP gauge? I am new to RXP products - am I doing something wrong?Mitchell

I got the following: Controller asks me to go direct to a waypoint which is part of a SID. Pressing the D-TO button brings up the screen with all the waypoints- but there is not a single one listed belonging to a SID or transition..? The FPL-page lists this waypoints, but I cant choose them for a direct-to.Regards,Matthias Hanel

HiI've noticed something which Im unsure if it has any effect on the flight. I have my Saitek Yoke mapped through FSPIUC. When looking at the yoke in th VC, if I say push forward, then let it come back to the centre position, the yoke in the VC doesnt come back to the centre position, it moves forward as expected and moves slighty back but not all the way, same if a pull back, and if i turn it.Is this actually meaning my control surfaces arent returning to being centered? or is it just a glitch in the VC modelling?RegardsJames

Is that a weather radar on the captains side that is blank? Why do the range buttons push? And I read all the ins and outs of why PMDG doesn't do weather radar blah blah blah but it looks dumb to have a blank panel in a cockpit fuull of gauges and screens that do work. So why not just put some dummy buttons or something there instead of flying around with a blank screen all the time? Thanks

Anyone using the GF MCP Autopilot with the J41? I have a Saitek Yoke and twin throttle set along with an X-52 Joystick/throttle that I control via a registered version of FSUPIC. This has worked well for me so far but I wanted to get away from using the mouse so much to control the AP. I read in earlier threads that the J41 might have some issue supporting Go Flight modules but I did not pay too close attention because at the time I didn't have any. I hope that the MCP will work without much fuss? If anyone is using it or other GF products please let me know if you are controlling them with GF Software, FSUPIC or both? Thanks in advance,Robert Thomason

Hello AllWell done on developing such a lovely turboprop aircraft for FSX, truly a joy to fly. I have noted that i can't set a ADF frequency in the radio panel. i can change the 100/1000 and the 0.5/0.0 parts but not the 10/1 parts, making the ADF Inop. If anyone elsa has this problem please post, It mite be me doing something wrong. Thanks

  23. Dear PMDG Team, loading a flightplan into the JS41 GPS system is working fine, the problem is:The flightplan directory is only updated by loading the plane. Would it be possible for SP1, to add a routine for flightplan directory reading by pressing the fpl button, so we are able to load new flightplans, without reloading the plane which is ending in a FS crash on my system.Best regardsJ

Hi,maybe a feature-request or a request for help on the following issue:I`ve heard that with other PMDG-Addons switching the transponder gauge mode toactive (TA) initiates the Squawkbox into "mode C"Same for the way back to "Standby".The JS41 did not ! Is there any chance on realising this feature for thihs fabulous aircraft ?Or does anyone have a Gauge just for toggeling the status of transponder mode of SB in FSX.(it possibly may be a switch as a gauge that I can build in..., otherwise the solution mentionedabove should be the best !)Thanks...

  25. Started by curt1,

I'm really lovin' the JS4100, it feels so real and is a blast to fly. As much as I like realism in my addons, there's one feature that is kinda boring and time consuming, and that's setting the airspeed bugs before takeoff. Would it be possible to create a hotkey that would automatically set the speed bugs based on the aircraft load sheet? Either that or accelerate the speed of setting each bug? It may seem like a small detail, but this one enhancement would make my day. Am I alone on this, or does anybody else feel the same way?Curt
