HiHaving trouble with the J41.Install, Installed livery's, Activated on-line no problems. Loaded up to just look, All the gauges are showing and i clicked on the FMS and turned it on, again no problems and exited flight as it was 5AM, but as i did so fsx= "Fatal Error"Loaded up fsx ran a normal AC took off and no problems.Tyred loading the tutorial J41 "save"(from you) and CTD.The one strange thing is in the aircraft page, if I preview the J41 the rudder and ailerons are all fully deflected.????I use Vista 64 with all user admin turned off from the day i got vista 64 never had any problems with your MD 11 or any other payware AC.I hope you can help? Is it safe to assume the js-41 will be available in DVD from aerosoft ? if so when do you reckon such dvd title would be available for purchasethanks in advance.Robert reglory

OK, I've read some postings questioning if there's a COD option for the JS41. No, there isn't, however...I got a COD the following way:Load the training/tutorialn flight from PMDG. After the flight has loaded, change to a different airport.That way I got a really COD, even with the flags in the artificial horizon.Give it a try and report back if it's working for you too.

HiIf you program the FMC with a route, including a departure. Then lose power or something like that, it deletes the route...so starting to reprogram it again, when you come to the depature page again, it suddenly shows that already being selected even though everything else was deleted, if you just tell it to add it again without going through the selection again it can cause a CTD, if you reselect it all again it works fine.RegardsJames

OK, now that we've all discussed and experienced the start-locks on this bird, I was wondering about the opposite state, when to feather the props. Obviously one might feather a prop in-flight on a dead engine, but when else would you purposfully feather a prop? According to the tutorial, not during shutdown because we're putting them back on the start-locks 1/2-way through the shutdown sequence. Or did I miss a step somewhere?Thanks,

Hi, I was on autopilot final approach at Oslo Norway runway 01L when suddenly the aircraft bank to the right and went down. I've never had time to turn off the autopilot that the aircraft had already hit the ground. Somebody has an idea what's happened. Thanks and regards.L'maire

Hello,I've bought yesterday the J41 and I love it but I got 3 problems so that I have to stay on ground.1) The Condition Leveler is in flight position and I'm able to pull it back to taxi and to the feather position...no problem but when I want to push it forwards again, the levelers only move to taxi, I cannot move them to flight again. But surprise I can move them forward to flight again if I'm using the keyboard and press ctrl+f4 but with my mouse I cannot move them into the flight position...whats wrong??2) the checklist says in the category "acceptance check" that the gear pins should be stowed and I have read in the manual that they should be left from the catpains …

Going through the tutorial flight, I find that hitting the autopilot is done rather late. If memory serves me correct (don't have the tutorial with me) prior to take off you select HDG and ALT SEL and press the GA button on the throttle. Then with condition levers in flight and full power you rotate at the correct speed and pitch up to about 12

Hi thereJS41, great plane, excellent panel, cant wait to see that applied to the upcoming NGX.I've done quite a lot of flying in the JS41 now, and really enjoy the unique features of flying this aircraft over the big jets with their all singing and dancing autopilots.However a quick question about using Speed for descent. I follow the correct procedure of dialing in altitude, selecting alt cap and then Speed. then pulling back on the power levers to commence a descent. So say im going down at 200kts, have set my power to give me a 1500FPM rate. All is good. However, say I get some wind changes, or that I then change the target speed to a lower figure 180kts. HiCan someone else try this, or try it with one of the other PMDG aircraft other than the JS41, when selecting the Departure for EGHI it gives choice of runway correctly so select 02, then it doesnt display in transition or star (there are technically none for this airport other than noise routings) However it seems to add 4 blank fields into the FPL after 02 runway. Is this a glitch in the NAVdata or is it the JS41 FMC?RegardsJames

HiMy Strobes and Nav lights dont seem to function correctly when in DX10 Preview mode, If I select the default Cessna, and turn on NAV and Stobes and Beacon, I see them flashing very nicely, on my TH2GO display at a resolution of 5040x1050. However the JS41 stobes dont flash, the beacon doesnt come on sometmes, and the nav lights dont seem to show either sometimes, or they just seem to shadow the wing tips rather than actually glow as it were.I do have a modified HALO.bmp, and tweaked settings in FSX.cfg in order that my runway and external lights dont look like balloons on the TH2GO, and everything else looks very natural and works, and as I say if I use any other a/c Le…

Ryan mentioned in a thread in the Windows 7 forum that there may be an issue with UAC and the JS41.The first thing I did after getting Windows 7 installed was to turn off UAC and I've left it off ever since. I installed FSX after turning UAC off but Ryan said there may be an issue with running the JS41 and UAC off.As it's looking close for release should I just leave things as is and try it out or should I reformat Windows 7 and reinstall everything with UAC set to default?

Is there a table somewhere showing the runway length requirements for the JS41 in various conditions? Hiding somewhere in the documentation, or somewhere on the Internet?Thanks,

First off I love this aircraft. The first day I had it I could not get it started so I used the slew command and brought the J41 to 5000ft AGL and dead sticked it in to my favorite airport. I said "this thing fly's beautiful" while crossing the threshold @ 160KTS.I can only see the digits (altitude and barometers) on the altimeter with the panel flood switch in the on position. I am running on the lower resolution setting and am not using DX10 preview mode.Any help would be appreciated.Mike

Guys l have now found that the start locks werent in the right position when l started the engines so many thanks for the help on this.Now when l throttle back to disable the start locks b 4 l taxi.. it doenst say start locks removed? what am l doing wrong?Many Thanks guysPaul

Had a strange failure today when I went to go fly today. I turned the avionics on and it went through business as usual except the heading compass never appeared on either of the EHSI. Instead there was a "HDG" caption displayed on the screen with the lubber line. The rest of the text such as LNAV, DME, waypoints and stuff were displayed around the perimeter of the gauge. Just no full or partial compass. Was reading through the manual and it said a failure would be denoted by an amber C on the EADI in the upper corner of the pitch/roll gauge. What am I doing wrong? I realised that in the J41, I can't recieve on one radio while also transmitting on the other radio. Did I miss something here? Isn't this feature available on 95% of all addons out there as well as almost all of the stock FSX aircraft?On the J41 com panel, I can see the recieve/volume knobs under com 1 and com 2, but they don't seem to do anything. I can recieve on the VOR, ADF, MKR etc, but no dice with the com radios. Any chance you guys can add that in in the next SP?It's doable, but an inconvinience to have to switch off from the vatsim controller just to pick up atis..JB

Having a great time learning to fly this bird. Funny that one of my biggest issues is that the cockpit is so bloody noisy I can't hear theradio :) I've had it at a level where everything else I've flown wasfine but its nigh impossible to hear anything in this case.Funny, but even when I turn the engine noise WAY down, and havethe voice setting at maximum, it seems that the level in the J41 ismuch lower than anything else.Is there a fix for this??
