Can anyone help with an annoying problem I'm having with FSX. This only happens when I am flying a quality 3rd party aircraft like the PMDG JS41 or similar. I am pretty sure its a problem with my system and not the PMDG JS41, but I'm hoping someone on this forum may have had a similar problem and found a fix.I can fly the JS41 for 20 mins or so without any problems then suddenly, without touching anything, the gauges get flashing horizontal lines in them then my computer locks up. Hi everyone,I just downloaded the J41, which looks great and saved it onto my computer. I am stuck with the next step as it is the first time I have downloaded an add on from PMDG.I extracted the whole file and put it into flight sim X but it isnt showing up in the game.Any help would be greatly appreciated.ThanksRyan

I realize that the JS41 is the purist flight simmers dream and I appreciate the authenticity and realism. But I submit that there are many of us who would enjoy it just as much even if we don't know all the intricate details. Time is precious and limited and perhaps 30 minutes or an hour is all we can spend for a satisfying flight. With that in mind has anybody put together a simplified tutorial for the FMS? Perhaps picture by picture? I've been pouring over the manuals and I've done it successfully a couple of times ... but not consistently. I'm not interested in all the waypoints and fixes .... just a little "Direct" To would satisfy me. Say from SLC IFR to Pocatello. …

Maybe this has been posted already, but I couldn't find it.I am trying to select the NDB freq. 230.5Unfortunately the first digit I can rotate in the range o f 2xx.x, 3xx.x, etc... all the way to 17xx.x (or was it 18xx.x) forthe ADF freq.The digit behind the decimal I can rotate too.But the digits (cfr. example 230.5) 3 and 0 I cannot rotate.Is this bugged ? Or amI doing wrong.I am on the selecter knob but seem only able to move the first 2 digits or the last digits behind the "."Please advise.

Hi Guys, I bought this wonderful plane 7 days ago and still did not get answer from product support.My problem is that first I did not pop up(advice with taskbar not working in my case) window to put my llicence number so my plane doesn have voltage reading at all and all gauges are not working.They promised in 48 hours at most to response so I am still waiting .If anyone can tell me what to doThanks

I have 2 systems with JS41 installed and both will CTD if I complete a session and then decide to fly a second time. One system is a Q6600 and a GeForce 8800 GTX and the second system is in my signature. The initial flights are without incidents but when I exit I normally get a full white screen or a full black screen and an error msg and no ability to continue. I can reload FSX and fly again so I can get a nice flight in, and it's probably being looked into but I wanted make a report anyway.

I run the FSX sound sliders on 75% and on the mixer of my Creative SB X-Fi, I have the windows sounds and the FSX sounds at the same level. I use that setting with the MD11 and other planes. I know that some developers are using direct sound to generate additional sound impressions that FSX does not have built in. On the MD-11 there is a chance to change the volume of those.Now on the J41, as soon as engines are running, there is a kind of very loud noise that can be heard within the cockpit, in the spot view and on the engine view, that is very much independent from power setting on the engines. Some topics already mention the possibility to install a third party weather radar in the J41. I like the idea of having it too, but I have a question about it: how to use it? Not technically, but practically: what do you do if you see some red areas in front of you? How do you react to it, what are the most common actions? When do you decide to fly through some turbulence and when do you avoid it? Is there a good read you can recommend about these issues or does wx500 come with a good manual about such questions? At the moment I know nothing about this and purchase of the wx500 would be more for some eye candy instead of what it is meant for. Hope someone is able/willing…

This plane is starting to wear me out. This is the 3rd time I've lost my FMS. Along with the other buggy stuff, I'm kinda startin to feel like I paid to be a beta tester. Sorry if that offends, but the time I have already spent on this aircraft is mind boggling at this point. Well here I go again I guess, try the old uninstall sp1, sp2 thingy.

I would just like to mention to anyone having install issues of black screens, lack of click sounds and a few other issues. Make sure you have all your Microsoft Visuals C++ up to date.

PMDG has explained me why they have not released a 2D panel for this aircraft:basically it is for keeping low the price....So I was wondering if PMDG might consider developing a 2D panell add-on (download only maybe)that can be purchased seperately for the JS4100?

I wanted to update to 0910 and installed the update, but when I was flying the JS41 after the installation the FMS still showed me the old cycle.I read in the forum that the BETA could allready be updated. I was flying a long track in Australia and checking my fuel estimates, I came across the followingOn the NAV2 page it gave me an ETA of 2:50.On the FPL1page it showed 1:50 to destination. Now I had a strong crosswind of about 305 kts requiring about 8

:( Along with allot of other bugs I've encountered, there is one thing that really irks me, now I maybe wrong on this, but I did see some other posts and their questions weren't answered by anyone. It seems that the TCAS system has no Aural warnings. You only get the start up TCAS SYSTEM OK. So is that it? If it is, man that's not too cool, hope I'm wrong, but I've found no sound files to back it up. The TCAS start up sound file must be embedded in the gauge DLL, because there is no standard PMDG sound file as is customary with they're other products. If you have no Traffic Traffic, Descend Descend, than that's a cryin shame. Like I said, hope I'm wrong.

Is there a tutorial for the FMC or where in the instructions can I find how to operate FMC. Not familiar with this only used the Garmin default in FSX. Is it true that you can't use the FSX flight planner to import flight plan into the FMC? Thanks for help.
