PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Never saw this before:Just switched to Win7 (64 bit), did a clean install of FSX (SP2), J41 and the new J41 SP1 recently released. When selecting the J41 in Select Aircraft in the Free Flight option, FSX crashes to desktop. I reinstalled the SP1 thinking that would do it but no dice. The update insisted on installng both the 64 and 32 bit C++ Redistributable if that has any impact. Anyone have any ideas?Shawn Cardwell

Hi Pilots,never read anything about the Multiplayer-Cockpitsharing with the BAe JetStream 4100 here?!I really was hoping that this bird will offer this to us, but to make a long story short, it isnt working.Am i the only one who is missing this? I think it woud be incredible to be airborne with a first officer,who is switching all the little "gismos" (hehehe) while i am flying.Are You fantastic guys at PMDG thinking about an extension modul for that?But let me say it one more time, it is so far my absolutly favorite Aircraft in FSX.Tristan Rusch

HiHas anyone noiticed that if they have to reset their flight, the FMS does not switch on!Is there any setting that will have the FMS on all the time please!? Have been on VATSIM several times and had to reselect aircraft (after loading with one engine started for some reason and rather than waiting for the EGT to drop!) And cannot switch the FMS on which is pointless when trying to fly without it!I then exited and when I load a pre saved JS41 flight still the thing wont swith ON!???Help!CheersRussell Bailey

Hi all,I'm just in line with all the people out there having problems with the JS41 engine startup.I'm through the AOM and I fully understand how the startup should work and how to handle the start locks properly . I'm able to startup the engines and to give her a nice spin around the block...but... I've to do that before the props move into the feathered position!When the props are in feathered position (by intension or accident) I can't bring them back with the unfeather pump into the un-feathered position required to startup the engines without killing the starter. The pump just don't work and it never had with my JS41.I've NO Idea why it does not work.Reading throug…

Hi Guys - I have the the PMDG J41 and 747 for FSX, but i would like to install FS2004 and fly my 737, for old times sake.Would installing FS2004 and the 737 interfere with my FSX installation and current PMDG planes? I dont wanna break anything!

Hey everyone i brought the J41 some time ago, and its been great and ive had no problems with it. unfortunatley when i decided to update to SP1 it persisted in asking me for a validation key, ive entered my key every time it has asked but when i load up the aircraft it shows all black screens. i have uninstalled and reinstalled with and without SP1 and i get the same problem, now it says ive entered in my key too many times and it wont let me anymore...i know validation issues are dealt with by PMDG support and i have e-mailed the lads but i just thought id check and see if its something someone else has had problems with and if theres any simple way to fix it im not thin…

Hi,I experience strange issues with sound in JS41. Some sounds come out from headphones, some from speakers. And I can't change this. For example: engine starting sound comes from headphones, but when engine has started its running sound comes out from speakers. I've tried to change sound settings in FSX, bug haven't managed to change anything. The only solution for me to direct all JS41 sounds to speakers is to disconnect headphones. I use USB headphones, so those are visible to system and FSX as a separate sound card.Is it known issue? Is there any setting I've overlooked?

Hi, maybe i missed something but my transponder isn't working. Black screen.Even when i start a flight with everything rdy to fly. Is there a knob/button to turn it onim not seeing? *EDIT* im talking about the J41thxDavid Guindonps. any tips on how i could use ground pwr? the one with pmdg doesnt work for me (i cant click on any 2D screens) is there a ground pwr unit i could summons from fsx? If not, i guess i wont be able to start the plane at all :(thx again

Hi,Although I have download and installed the latest airac (0909) from Navigraph, the FMS data still shows the airac as 0709 ?. Does the FMS use the same Nav/data airac's as the (737,747.md11 ect)?.Also I asume flight plans are saved in - Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS is this correct.RegardsWilliam

Hi All, Let me start of with saying I do not have any problem with starting and stopping the engines and stop locks. The problem is the config warning, when I am at the end of the runway on pressing test or when I advance the power I get a config warning until airborne.What must I check to be in the right config for take-off.Condition levers at maxFlaps 9Parking brake offGust lock offPitch trim at TO positionLoad sheet max weight not in REDAny thing else.I did have a couple of fights when I first installed the aircraft without config warning but now get it every take-off.

Can someone explain the Start Index - Final Index/Trim on the J41 loadsheet please? It was stated that it would be further explained in the tutorial but I can't find it. All I can find is set trim to the centre of the green band.John Ellison

HiI am using Active Sky Advanced when flying the JS41 within FSX. It appears the icing light illuminates and ice starts building up on the wing leading edges as soon at the temperature drops below 10 deg even in clear air conditions i.e. not flying through clouds. I don't know if this is a ASA problem bit you shuld not get icing in clear air ??Glen Coyne

Hi, Team!Please check what is happening with Qantas livery installer:1. It is creating some lines on aircraft.cfg (galley=fore)2. Hi all JS experts. A quick question - I have no problem now using battery start(left-right) and seem to remove the start locks OK - no problem on TO. I do not get the'start locks removed' call out. I start with a default CD trike then load a saved JS flt at KIAD and proceed. Have I missed something- its really not critical.Jack SciuttiPS the call out is fine with the tutorial flt

hi guys, are we suppose to be able to ''click'' on the ramp manager popout? (shift-2), if its the case i cant. I tried right and left click on the red parts with no results. Plus, when i open door (shift-E), the door doesnt become blue on the ramp man. screen.anyone can help...thxWindge

Hi,RE: PMDG JS4100I am unable to change the volume of the clicking sound in the cockpit, either with the PMDG volume button (which actually doesn't seem to do anything), or by using the FSX volume sliders.This is quite annoying, as it is too loud.I do not wish to change the master volume of my system as this would affect everything else I use on my computer.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,John Nunez

One of the problems I have been having is being able to read the data displayed in the EADI, in particular the IAS tape. I use track IR and so I can look down and lean forward in order to read what the displays are showing, however; what I would really like to do is buy a pair of Samsung 7" digital picture frames (they double as mini-monitors) and move the displays onto them. Since they aren't 2D views that I can undock does anybody know of a way of accomplishing this? Thanks in advance,Robert Thomason

My frustration is at several levels. During the brief time I have been able to successfully fly the J-41, it has been impressive. Easily one of the best flight sim experiences I have purchased, and trust me I have purchased alot. Almost every PMDG product produced. So when I experienced CTDs it becomes frustrating. Let me explain: when I switch to a map mode or some other tool bar function, I lose the screen (it goes to blank) and the program freezes. I attempted every solution recommended: from rebuilding the FSX cfg to reloading SP1 and acceleration. Went over again the different display settings to see if that would help,it didn't. Gentlemen,Need so quick help. Just purchased the JS41 three days ago.I completely understand how to set up an IFR flight and ILS landing with all my other aircraft and quality add-on's, such as the Citation Mustang, Pilatus-12 etc.With the JS41, I have the Nav1 freq set, course set, as I do in my other planes. I get the Nav1 id beep, but I don't ever see a glide slope indicator appear to capture, as wellas the ATC tells me that I am on localizer, if I hit the apr for approach, it never captures it.Please point me in the right direction.
