PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Hi :I was wondering if anyone has the same problem with the J41 when using the direct x10 preview on full screen I cannot see the toolTips on the gauges and knobs and also the ramp manager support equipments don't show outside the aircraft if using direct x10. (Everything works fine with direct 9 or the regular windowed screen).Anyone having the same direct x10 problems? By the way , I checked the ToolTips option on the settings. Thanks.Kaue Freire.

I looked through the AOM and I can't find anything, but lets say, I was operating a charter of engineers on a private JS4100 in Australia could I land on a grass strip or is that not aloud in a plane like this?

I have been unable to "add as waypoints" the RNAV fixes from a Jeppesen Chart which I have attached for viewing. These are EPLIT, RESDN, SPREA, and IPOV. I have the 0709 airac loaded but when I go to add these as a waypoint, I'm asked for their lat/longs. Other fixes shown on the V300 airway load without asking for the L/L's (these L/L's are shown on the enroute chart if you wanted them) and I'm wondering if I'm missing something, or the FMC is missing something or the airac is.These fixes load easily into the X-plane FMC so I gather it's possible.Also, is there a separate usage manual available for the J41 model of the FMC ... or is the AOM about all that's available.…

Howdy folks, thanks for the help on previous posts. I've just about got the hang of actually flying this bird now.So, i can get it in the air, keep it on the straight and narrow, use the FMC but it doesnt want to go down. I get to the initial approach fix (TANET), start my decsent and then at some point along the approach i get the good old CTD. I've got as far as turning to intercept the localiser once but never as far as the glideslope. Happened 3 or 4 times now.So, in the words of Four Non-Blondes: #'WHATS GOING ON' (and i say hay ay ay ay, hay ay ay, i say hay, whats going on) :( Cheers.Matt

Hi guys,Everytime I open the configuration menu, it is set to 'Meduim settings' - no icing on exterior of the plane. Any ideas as to why this is not saving to 'Full Settings' after I tick this box and hit save (it says it's saved my settings? Then when I reopen it's back to Meduim again as though I never set it to Full. I have my settings on full realism in FSX. Also if I change to normal panels from HD there is also no difference when I reopen the configuration menu as though I haven't changed anything at all. Also I have not seen any icing effects during flight so I am sure it is not working. I am pressing save each time but it doesn't save my settings.Thanks in advanc…

I have the JS41 and the MD11 installed for FSX and windows 7. With the MD11 I get 24fps at the gate but with the JS41, I only get 14 fps, with all things equal.Any particular reason for this or is it just a peculiarity of my computer set-up.ThanksRenzo

Hi guys,I have got the Jetstream after i bought it this evening, my god is it a framerate killer!One of the biggest frame rate killer features is the Virtual Cockpit window reflections, and i was wondering how we could disable them for our PMDG FSX products??!?It can be done, as Captian sim 767 has an option in their configurator.Would love to find the solution [which i think is in the aircraft config]All the best guysAlex

I would like to share something with you people:I fly the J41 for few months now. After the SP refinement and my system update I still felt that something is missing...The other day I purchased an add-on which completed my idea of ultimate sim flying enjoyment - Tongass Fjords (fsaddon.eu)This scenery add-on together with PMDG J41 and Active Sky Advanced is creating environment for almost endless fun - weather offers a lot of surprises, the airports included in the area are J41 flyable and if you like it real - for Alaska understand fog, snow and amazing views - I would recommend you the package of these three.I hope you guys will enjoy it as I did!Cheers

Hi folks,I bought & installed the new downloaded J41 a few days ago and found out that the PMDG sound volume doesn't work. So I decided to reinstall win xp + sp3 and start from scratch. (Found out that the volume selector doesn't work at all afterwards)The J41 installed fine but now I don't have the PMDG menu in the menu bar anymore.I can't deselect the sounds in external view etc... .Uninstalled, reinstalled, no PMDG menu.Any ideas?Thanx in advanceBernt StolleCapt Boeing 767 Austrian Airlines

Correct Shut down for the pmdg jetstream?Hi guys,When i load the tutorial for the jetstream, the engines are off, cold and dark,, fine...this means that when it comes to engine start, they start fine :)HOWEVER, if i load in a custom flight,the engines start on. i go on the over head and click STOP.. the engines shut down.BUT when it comes to engine start through my custom flight, they do not start properly and everntually will catch on fire,.Am i doing something wrong??? [remember i can start them fine in the tutorial flight]What can I do?Alex Ridge

Hola amigos,Don't worry, I have no intention of starting another contentious posts on J41 keyboard assignability.In fact, this post is entirely and solely to say that I took the plunge and bought the PMDG J41 and that as well as being a wonderful aircraft and add-on, the key assignments (via the .ini file) work absolutely flawlessly. :( At first I noticed that only some of the AP funtions were listed as available for key assignment in the .ini file .......... but I later discovered that this is purely becauuse the others, not listed, are assigned to standard, default key assignment offsets.So every funtion on the AP (including the beloved heading bug!) is assignable to ke…

I created sort of a "quick start" tutorial for a friend and after some encouragement from David decided to give it a try with Windows Movie Maker. (I couldn't afford the $500 program). Now cutting 20 minutes out of the original left a few holes but the idea still holds. Some Start instruction, some music .... but a fun project anyway. Also some verbal errors, some video shearing (don't know why) ... but hey .... it's a learning curve for me. Feel free to correct me ... I'm always willing to learn ...

The J41 Altimeter evidently provides altitude information in metres (the dial) and feet (the numbers in the middle). The needle on the dial seems to move nice and smoothly, but the "hundreds of feet" number in the middle seems to change before it should. For example, when I pass through one thousand feet, you would expect the "tens" to rotate through a full sequence (0-9) before the "hundreds" value moves up to one. However, it switches from "0" to "1" when the "tens" figure has only reached "40". Why does it do that? Am I missing some unique operational feature of the altimeter, whereby it is supposed to do that? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.On a side note, I hav…

Hello all,Bought the J41 two hours ago and boy am I having a frustrating time.Nothing to do with engine starts! I can do this everytime and understand my stop locks from my unfeathered props!My problem is that I cannot get electrical power from the GPU, and I cannot get the Avionics on for love nor money ! ....... I have selected the GPU cart to GREEN in the Config Manager pop-up, but I cannot get the "GPU on" green light on the overhead. Have tried pressing the rocker switch to 'GPU on' and to GPU / Battery assist, nothing will give me GPU power.I have successfully started the engines using the Batteries but when I switch the Generators ON, the amber lights stay on, an…

Hi AllHas anyone noticed how insanely hard it is to print the J41 AOM double sided?The way that PMDG has numbered the PDF pages, makes it almost impossibe to print in small batches. All 543 pages that is :( Anyone know how to make Adobe Acrobat Reader see the pages as standard numbers, instead of chapers and points?I've already easted a whole bunch of paper and ink :(

Hi all,I undestand there has been some passionate discussion on this - hopefully this post can stay focussed on topic ;I believe the J41 (@ SP1) comes with a .INI where keyboard assignments can be set up.My question is simply, has anyone tried this and how well does it work ? Hi,When i run the Jetstream 41 i get a flightplan to 0*N/S, 0*E/W. No other flightplan is loaded either in FSX or the J41 FMC.My FSX is sp2 and vista is 32 bit and fully updated. The flightplan only appears in the weather map and nowhere else.Is this just a part of how the programming of the j41 operates or could there be a problem there?
