So, if I read the tutorial correctly, the correct landing procedure is to retard thrust to flight idle at 200ft above landing elevation. In doing this, I get what amounts to a very long flare maneuver as the airspeed bleeds off in order to stay on the glide...followed by another flare just prior to touchdown to reduce airspeed.Is this the correct procedure? No one said this should be easy, but I'm finding this very difficult when adding in some other things...like kicking out crab angle in a x-wind. Thoughts?Thanks!

Hey guys, am loving nthis aircraft, however, a small problem with the glass, I cannot get either the RMU or FCS fired up.Everything else is fine. Have started from cold, run other aircraft first etc but nothing..... any ideas please??

I had what would be considered bad graphic problems which I could manifest at will.What I found was that after overclocking my CPU I neglected to set my memory timing in the bios. Once that was set all is right with the world again. I've done a couple of flights and tried every which way to make it fail but I couldn't.I do not guarantee anything but check your memory timing in accordance with your make of memory and give her a go. Worked for me and let us know if it worked for you if you have this problem.Bernie

Is it true to real life systems, that the EGT limit can 'sneak' below the actual EGT readout without warning?Warning first comes when you then move levers to 'temp out'.

What (or when) is the approved procedure for pressing the "Appr" button on an ILS landing ...1) Anytime during the approach2) Only after the Nav captures the ILS but before the GS is active3) Only after the GS become activeI am never quite certain exactly when I'm under the GS ( no instrument warning ?) until the bar starts moving. But I wonder if the "Appr" will still capture the GS as you descend under it if it is armed above it.I've managed to get into trouble on short final expecting the GS to handle the descent in only to see the altimeter rising and then falling erratically ... convincing me to panic, intervene and hand it in. I have just uploaded a beta version of some FSUIPC LUA scripts that interface the MCP Pro with the J41 so all functions work properly including the displays.Its not ideal, but I find it much easier to use than mouse clicking.The code can be modified to support the MCP also.Its uploaded on AVSIM. Has anybody noticed when sitting in the FO's seat in the JS41 with engines off the number 2 prop is turning. In cabin view and outside view it's stopped. Also no switch sound for anti skid.Along with the graphics problem...still persisting and getting the best of me. I'm tired of trying all the suggestions, I just want to fly...I think this purchase might of been a mistake. Too bad beautiful aircaft.Bernie :(

Is there anyone here that has 195.62 installed and j41 is working fine? I have read a few post on here about graphics anomolies with the virtual cockpit. I currently have 191.07 and would like to update my drivers without rendering the j41 useless.

Am loving the J41 since SP1 but I miss the icing effects from the VC...I had to disable them due to the bug that was introduced in SP1 that caused graphics problems for some users. Vin Scimone had posted this:"Captains,This is a problem that we ran into during the development of Service Pack 1 that we thought was solved. It appears as if we have run ito is an internal limit built into FSX in regard to the number of parts and animations.Until we find a solution for this, I would advise anyone experiencing this anomoly to open their PMDG J41 Configuration Manager and to select the VC option with no ice. It asked me one time for the serial I entered it and panel still did not come up so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it now it doesnt ask me for the serial nor are the gauges displaying. Hey everybody,Is anyone having problems with thier logo lights? I have some repaints from the pmdg site but noticed some aircraft will only light the top of the tail, one will only light the bottom left side and one will not light the tail at all.I tried Redux lights but also get the same thing.Thanks,Bernie

HiOut of nowhere, suddenly I can't use the J41.Suddenly, for no 'apparent' reason, I just keep getting the activation screen. Even after entering the long activation key, it just states the 'Not licensed' etc message :( Any ideas?

HelloWhen I load my J41 it keeps asking for my activation code !! I have just bought and installed J4100. I am starting to work my way through the tutorial. I notice on page 10 it says CTRL + SPACE should reset the view to it's original location and zoom factor. It seems to set the view back to the original but doesn't reset the zoom to it's original 0.50. Is this a bug, a missprint or have I got a setting wrong somewhere. Thanks.

Hello. I pre-ordered the PMDG J41 over Aerosoft 2 months ago. Its finally here. I installed the plane. accepted the dll's, wrote in my serial number.i startet up and after 10 seconds FSX froze. I tried again and it froze. it keeps freezing. i have to reboot my system before i can continue.i just want to fly this bird! please help!Mads Andersen
