PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Hi, Before and after SP1 I have an issue with the FMS. During start up I switch on the GPU and following the normal sequence which includes programming the FMS. When it comes to push back and disconnecting the GPU the FMS powers off immediately even though I can then power it back on under batteries.Is this a bug or a power up sequence (me) problem?At the moment I either have to rely totally on batteries or program the FMS after the pushback on the taxiway, which may annoy a few vatsim twrs if it is busy.Cheers,Michael

I recently downloaded and installed the SP1 upgrade to the JS4100. The first time I tried to fly it, I got a request for activation. When I supplied the activation from my purchase confirmation (copy and paste), it said that activation failed and that the aircraft would not perform as expected. However, it seems to be OK and it hasn't asked for activation again. Is my installation OK or do I have to reinstall?Steve Bickford

I bought the Captainsim weather radar last night and set it up for the JS41. The installation and setup was fine, but I am not all that happy with the results so far. The problems I have are that (1) I lose about 5-10 FPS as soon as the weather radar is switched on (which makes the JS41 borderline unflyable) and (2) in the VC, I get an ugly moire pattern on the weather radar unless I zoom in quite close. I really have two separate questions: First, are other people with the JS41 and the CS weather radar having the same problems (particularly the FPS loss) or is this something specific to my machine?Second, do these problems exist with the Reality-xp weather radar on the J…

Hello,I am running a program called Squawkbox (SB4) which is an interactive Air Traffic Control Communications site which is connected with the internet and is running as a module inside Flight Simulator X on Windows Vista.During my simulated flight, I get the following " C++ Assertion Failure Runtime Error" stating JIT must be enabled, giving me 3 options: ABORT,RETRY & IGNORE. Hi GuysBeen away (in hospital mostly) for the last 3 months. Returned to see the J41 released, so purchased it.I have a brand new (SP2) installation as of this morning. The very first addon I installed is the J41. The installation process did not ask me for my PMDG order number!! Simply went straight ahead with install!When I run FSX, all seems normal until selecting the J41. Then I get the below message. Is it refering to FSX or the J41 do you think, as my FSX install is indeed activated.Any help much appreciatedPS Running XP-Pro 64bit

Just a small comment on overspeed.This baby is quite easy to overspeed if you don't keep an eye open. As I,m used to setting AT and not having to worry about speed on other aircraft I've been caught out twice so far. (annoying as I spent 1/2 hour setting the flight up) There doesn't appear to be an overspeed warning in the cockpit (audible)....is this accurate?

Hi all. All the help i get please. New to this bird, even this type of bird. Been in the 744 since it was released. I like a challenge in my simming but this one takes the urine! So hard. :( Got it installed at 1500 gmt. Got engines started at 2145 gmt :( . Now the engines are running, progrommed fmc and, as far as i can see, am configured for takeoff. But when i open the throttles alarms ring and 'config' flashes up. Any ideas on what i may have missed.And another thing. Is it me or the physics of the plane making it veer off the straight and narrow when accelerating on TO?Cheers

Hi all In spite of repeated attempts at installing/reinstalling and applyong the advice in the Forum I still could not get the Jetstream to activate. I have asked PMDG for help as the last resort. In the meantime .. A signpost to solving the problem with activating the Jetstream was alsodiscovering that a problem had appeared with my registered copy of FSUIPC4. First of all -- thx for the JS 4100 -- it is the best aircraft I ever flown on FS, and I enjoy fs since a lot of years. This little prop is fantastic and really joyfull. It works on my system without any mistakes. But, as in the title written, I had one question because of the EGT (Exhaust Gas Temeratur) of the turbines. If I want to fly a rotation between a few airports, normaly after arrival at one airport I shut the engines down. Now after shutdown the EGT is high and calm down very slowly so that I must wait minute over minute to start the engines again for my next trip. Problem is that if I start the engines again with EGT round about 300 degress my engines get on fi…

I have installed SP1. The ADF tuning works fine but the spoilers do not deploy. Does anyone know how to remedy this? I emailed Support and received no replies or information concerning this issue.I approach with 100% RPM's, Condition Levers in Flight position and arming switch on. The spoilers fail to deploy when Reverse Thrust is applied.I would like to be able to land on shorter runways without having to reduce Gross Weight to allow for lower approach speeds.I think this is a legit issue and not one like...oh, say...asking for updates and a release date for the NG (which PMDG has responded to on numerous occasions)Jack Hancock

I've yet to try sending an Email to support but I will, of course. (Now done- and auto reply received)On installing the JS41 I had the 'Number of activations' error - so I clicked cancel and it said it will not perfornm as expected. Hello,I have had this problem with the initial install and now with the SP1. The FMS will only power up after a clean install. After a second flight, the FMS will no longer power up. It does not seem to matter if I do a Cold and Dark start or if I do a "powered up" start from a default aircraft. The only way to power up the FMS again is to reinstall but that is only good for one flight.Any ideas here?Thanks in advance,Ron SagelNEAR KCHS

Just did my first flight after SP1. I was previously moving the FMS pop out to a second monitor and notice this time that the AP part of the display is now gone. Is that correct ?Mark.

Hi. I have a problem with my Jetstream 41 activation. I have reinstaled mi vista and now I can not activate the Jetstream. Message said that I have tried too much times for activation (?). I have the same problem that Daniel Holmes. I send 2 mails to the support in 48 hours and I have not response till yet. Wath can I do to activate my software? Hi there,does anyone of you propably have the same issue?When pressing "b" on the keyboard, the altimeter is setting the current QNH setting correct. But if I try to change them manually with the rotary knob on the bottom left corner of the altimeter, it does not change, regardless in which direction I use the knob.

I am trying to learn the proper way to climb with this outstanding aircraft. Here is my problem. I have my condition levers at 98%, and am on the 295 deg hdg out of KHPN. I am climbing and trim my aircraft to climb at 170 kts. Everything appears stable. I enable my FMC dct to ELIOT, and click on NAV. I then turn on autopilot. As soon as I do, my speed begins to climb. If I use elevator trim to readjust for the 170 kts climb, my AP disconnects. I retrim, and try to reconnect AP. Again, speed starts to climb, and so on. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,I desperately need your help with some problems I'm having after installing SP1 for the JS4100.- The loadsheet on the left in VC is completely black,- The engine and prop control levers don't move, - None of the electronic flight displays are working; PFD, RMU, engine instrument panel, ND, FMC, DME, even the clock doesn't show any information. I do have power in the cockpit because all my lights are working and engines are running. I want to do some little repaint modifications off a livery in the DDS file with Photoshop. When I do this, saved in DTX5 and place the file in it's original position the following happens.It all seems OK but the quality (resolution) of the text on the body goes far down ( my added text, but also the already existing text). What can that be? Do I need a special repaint kit for the J41. I use the repaint kit for the MD-11. I also changes some files for the MD-11 and everything is OK.Thanks on beforehand,Errol

The more I am shocked to be not able to use my hardware I have, like sum of Goflight modules (I know keymapping is discussed enough and I hope the devs take a serious look into that "problem") and my beloved ELITE KingAir Throttle Quadrant.I have some difficulties to use this device at all. My questions are as followed:1.) Does anyone also has this Quadrant and got it fully working (or not) ?!?2.) I went through the checkout on 10/21/09 to purchase the BAe Jetstream, clicked the purchase button, and text came up saying "transaction delcined". However, there was enough in my account to cover the purchase, and my account was charged for the software. I have yet to receive a purchase confirmation or a download link and my support requests (two so far) have gone unanswered. I'm not sure if it failed because of my firewall or eCommerce had a problem that day.Can someone please help me fix this?
