PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

I would like to buy the J41 but am unsure if my older system can run it adequately. Adequately defined as a sufficient frame rate to actually be able to fly the aircraft without frustration. While I seem to be in the ballpark of PMDG's recommendations (except for graphics card), I am interested in what results others have had. So, if anyone has a similar system to mine and is running the J41, I would be interested in knowing results as well as your average framerates in dense and not so dense environments. Here are my specs:ADM 2.6 GHz Dual Core Processor, 2GB RAM, Geforce 7800GTX KO 256MB Card, WinXP SP2Thanks.

No matter what I do, I can't seem to get more that 5-15 fps on my old and very low-end notebook. And this is with most sliders completely to the left on the display configuration window. With the default aircrafts I can even turn on the autogen and AI traffic and still maintain reasonable fps.Also the J41 takes forever to load.So I've been thinking of a radical solution. I almost never use the exterior views, so I wonder if it would be possible to hack the configuration files or something like that and turn off the exterior model completely, or substitute it with the default cessna, while keeping the flight model, the vc, and all systems intact.Is this possible? Is there a way to get FSX to use Lbs as a fuel unit?PMDG use Lbs for the JS41, and although I note the cfg mod to work in Kgs, I'm not sure this affects the Weight Balance Sheet / Speed Cards.I find I am having to convert Lbs/Kgs in all my flight fuel calculations.For all elements to work in Lbs would make things easier I must say...best wishesKev TownsendMy posts are like buses - nothing for ages, then 3 come in a row!

I was wondering if someone can tell me what I maybe over looking during my preflight that gives me the red warning light during take off. I set my speed bugs according card, I have filled out my pax sheet and have gone through the fms to ensure that that nav data is filled out and flt plan is all set. I did the tutorial and didnt get the warning. So im not sure what im doing different that gives me the warning. Also last night during a vatsim flt I had twr come on and ctr during my final and it was way to hard to tune the radio to twr so I had to go around till I could get the twr freq on the standby. Is there a way in which to tune the radio without having to zoom in to …

I am wondering if any else has tied this yet. I am running FSInn remotely and tried the squawk ident. It doesn't show on FSInn that it received the message from the J41 transponder to squawk ident. I am just wondering if I am dealing with an FSInn problem or a J41 problem. Thanks!

Hello, I've conducted a search of the PDMG support forum here using all kinds of search terms but have not found what I'm looking for. I've got the PDMG B1900C turboprop and I've noticed there is no start-up checklist for the aircraft. Manual is a bit sparse on this subject. Love the product but am looking for a checklist for start-up procedures of this aircraft.Does anyone know of a list?Thanks.

My installation of the JS4100 appears to work impeccably.I didn't install "172 Cold and Dark" I just created a startup by moving the Tutorial start to my home airfield and saving it as the default, this appears to load perfectly everytime.I do seem unable to save a flightplan. I click the line select button "Save FPL" but it doesn't highlight.The button does animate.There's no mention of this in the AOM (Pages 514 - 543)In fact a search of the entire pdf for "save" gives nothing.I've downloaded the Honeywell Manual and this gives no result either...I have completed all relevant data on FPL, VNAV and PLAN pages. I have "Active FPL 1/3" banner at the top.I can cycle the ETE…

Dear PMDG,First off, congratulations on this fine model - after many years in my FS hangar, I keep returning to it again and again!My query is where can I find .psd files for this bird in the paintkit? The one on the website is .tga with some paint already on the fuselage. Hi,I'm going crazy. I try to fly the tutorial-flight, make everything exactly, props are not feathered.If I push the start-button, I can hear some noise (prob. air for startig) which rise and is then constantly. Then nothing will happen. No rpm, engine temp etc. only the noise. I can do what I want. There is a other Thread here, which decribes exactly my problem. You have to load the tutorialtwo times. But this do not work for me.Even if I load and start Default-Cessna and then switch to JS41 with running engines. I stop the engines. Wait for cooling down below 200

Hi guys,I only just heard a rumour that PMDG was doing a Q400. I've been searching for a Q400 panel for sometime. Is this true that PMDG will be putting their hand to a Q400??? FS9 specifically.

Is the TCAs system modelled in this aircraft. I have all the buttons and audible bite test working but I do not get a dispaly of nearby aircraft. I've tried adjusting the range selected every option available (Normal, Above, Below etc). I can see the aircraft out of the windscreen but it won't show on the EHSI.Thanx,Bernie

Hello Everyone, It is rare i come across issues in FSX i can't resolve, but this one has me stumped. I'm having annunciator lights turning on when the JS4100 is powered down, as well as during taxing and flights. The 2D window lights such as autopilot lights don't match my 3D window or my gear lights turn red in the down position. The following situations temporarily correct the problem. (1) Pressing the "Push To Test" Button on the Annunciator. It also disengages the autopilot in flight. (2) Switching from windowed mode to Fullscreen (3) Pulling the power levers into reverse when on the ground and back to idle. Unfortunately the random a…

Can someone tell me how I can get those red and green lights (plus the white flashing lights) on the Jetstream wingtips? If I press "L", I see a brief flash of either red or green (depending on the wingtip I am looking at), but they never stick around for more than a fraction of a second.

Just purchased the J41, having owned then 747X for a while. It appears my download included the SP1 as when I tried to install that it came up with a message that my version was already the latest.One thing I can't seem to establish is panel switcher commands - as in the PMDG 747X where you can switch to the overhead panel or FMS with a single key combination while in the VC and then back to the view ahead. Is this functionality not available in the J41. Sitting in the VC it is difficult to work all overhead buttons without zooming in and out. Pressing the "A" button to cycle through a whole bunch of views is not so nice.By the way I have a registered FSUIPC4 if this help…

Hello all,I really love flying this J41, I've been a FS enthusiast in the past and I'm just getting back into it. However I see now that there are so many FSX add ons that I could go bankrupt trying them all and I think most of them will do nothing but slow down my machine. I like flying technical IFR flights through challenging weather situations so my question is this; what are the really must have add ons for FSX? I don't do much low level "site seeing" flights but I do like detailed scenery for landing approaches and am trying to get the most realistic feel as possible. Any ideas?ThanksMorph

Does anyone have anyB1900C repaints for more well known airlines, such as United, Delta Connection, BA, ETC. I know that these airlines probably didn't fly this A/C but they would be nice to have. I've already searched through the AVSIM and Flightsim's libraries; thanks.

Hello,This problem suddenly occured to me. The picture explains it all: There is no heading arc in the HSI arc mode, the FULL mode indicates heading normally. Any ideas what has happened? Restarting didnt help, and the system is fully aligned.
