    On loading the J41 cold and dark I noticed the propellers were not in the start position so I had to use the 'Start Locks Not Engaged' procedure from the manual Ch 6 page 21. I selected reverse, operated the unfeather switch in the correct direction the switch automatically returned to mid position then I selected the power lever back to ground start (F1). When I checked the props proir to start they had crept back to the feathered position ?I tried the procedure again this time after operating the unfeather switch I went to an outside view and noticed the prop takes some time to move and realised I was returning the power leavers to the start position too soon.     Hi AllJust want to say a big and sincere thank you to PMDG for this beautiful plane, this is by far best looking and flying plane for FS I have ever experienced.But I have a couple of things that would make this beatiful plane even better.     Is it possible in th upcoming patch to implement the ability to select between a right or a left handed mouse?Now the logic behind all switches is for the use of a right handed mouse.As left handed I step always into the trap and klick at a switch in the wrong way...In my OS the mouse is of course left handed, but that doesn't affect the usability of the J41 mouse coding....Is this possible, please?.... be nice with your minorites.... :(guenter

    Hi All.I've been busily trying to get to know how to operate this beast. Much more involved than the usual fare. :( Has anybody gotten their throttle quadrant to put the power levers into reverse? I have FSUIPC, and have calibrated the throttles for reverse, but they will only go into the ground start/idle position. I still have to use the F2 key for reverse. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?Thanks in advance.JerryT

    hi all figured most things out now etc on how to start etc, but now this the changing of alt eg lets say my first weigh point is set at 3000. i line up on rwy set hdg and alt sel on the flight director i take off rwy heading retract gear flaps etc than i set my ap to maintain rwy heading than i select nav on the flight director which than turn the aircraft to my program course. plane climbs to 3000 and holds it till 1st weigh point, my next weigh point is say 16000 this is where i get confused. since looks like i doing some thing wrong. i set the alt to 16000 than i press alt sel thinking i…

    After a few more flights, I have a few odds and ends questions.1. On two flights I seem to have "lost" reverse thrust. At some point before takeoff, I've usually checked reverse thrust by putting the aircraft in to just a little bit of reverse power and looked for her to move backwards. I know this isn't exactly a kosher practice, but while I'm learning this bird it's sometihng I've been doing (i.e., once I get all the systems down it will not continue). Well, on a two flights the aircraft didn't move back at all, but when I brought the throttles back to idle, the aircraft lurched forward a little bit.     Hello allI have completed several successful flights with the J41 now, but one thing i noticed is that the take off trim setting on the loadsheet has always been 4.0 regardless of %MAC.I have loaded the J41 to have % MAC CofG's of between 20-30 but the trim always says 4.0.Looking at the trim indicator i am presuming that the numbers are %MAC so the trim should be different for these CofG'sGreat simulation tho, makes you work at flying!!RegardsStuart

    I find the lack of a change to engine sound with power on the J41 rather disconcerting. You advance the power levers for takeoff and there is no aural cue at all. I've never been anywhere near a real J41, but flightdeck videos on youtube indicate there is a sound difference due to the change in power at a given RPM. Is this a limitation of FSX?Kevin

    There are no other words for this...I am working my way through the tutorial flight, that is how I managed to get the MD-11 off the ground... a lot of the initial ##### questions automagically answered by the tutorial flight, go figure... :(This is a wonderful model. It makes me actually feel as though I am sitting in one, flying it.Robert and the entire team, my thanks to you (OK, so we give you cash for doing this, but still...) for going to such lengths to produce such gems of simulation.I am having the simulated time of my life, dividing my time between the JS41 and the MD-11...Once again, thank you for taking the game so far!Andrew

    Ok, here I go.....On landing I press F2 enough to make the spoilers deploy (green light) but then fsx does the nasty and decides to rev them to death.... smoke and flames....If I press F1 to go back to idle before this occurs the spoiler light goes out so I assume not deployed as automatic.Is it possible to have them deploy and stay deployed till say 30-40 knots so I don't have to replace those precious water heaters?I read the fsx limitation by the way.John Ellison

    Had no problem loading and running the aircraft. Works just fine with an acceptable FPS. But the tutorial flight is no where to be found! In the ...\PMGD\JS4100 folder, there are only 2 items: Flight Manual and the ConfigManager application. However, the KHPNKIAD J41.RTE is present in the Flightplans folder.Where is that Tutorial flt?     According to the manual....Before ground-start the propeller must be on the start latches. If the start latches are not engaged the unfeather pump is used to put the propeller on the start latches. The procedure for this is to put the POWER lever in the REVerse position and operate the unfeather pump switch.On the ground the pumps are controlled manually with an UNFEATHER pump switch. The switch has three positions and is spring loaded to the center OFF position. The switch is installed on the lower centre console and gives selection for the Left or Right unfeather pumps.My question is....Is there any audio que that lets you know that the start locks/latches are engaged, …

    As some people have already noted, there is a bug with the tuning of the the ADF using the RMU. You can change the first two and last digits, but not the 10's inbetween. To get around this, use your FMS:1) Press TUNE, along the top twice, to get to the 2nd TUNE page, showing the currently selected ADF frequency2) Press the LSK next to ADF to highlight it, then enter the desired frequency3) Press Enter to confirm the new frequency4) Enjoy some "old school" navigation. Ah, if only FSX simulated coastal refraction and quadrantal error...

    I have bought the Reality XP Wx500 weather radar for PMDG BAe JetStream 4100 but find that I cannot have the full gauge (ie the screen and surrounds with its working controls) on the panel. How can I get rid of tha dummy radar gauge and replace it with the Reality XP one? I find using the green dots instead of the proper controls all rather silly. Very disappointing if it is not possible because I have bought it specifically for the wonderfull aircraft. Hope there is a way.

    OK, I'm still working the tutorial and now referencing the manual as I seemed to have finally stopped blowing-up engines during each phase of flight. :( I am now trying to refine my steps through the descent and approach phase and still having a bit of a hard time. I now have better handle on ALT, ALTSEL, and ALT CAP and while flying cruise of 16K with 96%, AP, Nav, & ALT all green, and the SID points programmed with their respective altitudes in the FMS, as per the tutorial, I then set my ALT target to the first lower waypoint (8000), I punch ALT SEL and it becomes 'Arm'. On the EADI, I now see both ALT (Green) and ASL (White) as well as my new target 8000. As I …
