I created a flight plan from KIND to KORD. Kind rwy 23L, SID Indy2, Transition MZZ, Star Royko 3, Rwy 10, VNAV enter crossing altitudes. I saved flight plan and it created KINDKORD_J41.RTE. When I went to the FMS and press fpl I get KINDKORD 1. So far so good. Next time I want to add saved fpl for KIND Rwy 23R, SID Indy2, Transition MZZ, Star Royko 3, Rwy 10. I saved flight plan and saved it as KINDKORD_J41.RTE also in the PMDG Flightplans. When I went to the FMS and press fpl I get KINDKORD 1 and KINDKORD 4, one is departure Rwy 23L and 1 is Rwy 23R. So far as I wanted. Then I started to realize that the fpl that I really wanted was to just have the basic fpl as s…

Hello folks,Awhile back I set up an ILS flight etc., and just for reference, pulled up the GPS and the destination was in the GPS, with eta etc. - So, I have started using it just for reference.Since that flight, I can create a new flight on FSX main screen, but in VC when I pull up the GPS, the "original" flight is there. I have do a direct and enter the destination airport info. What do I need to do to clear out the original GPS info from the first flight so it will show the correct destination when I set up a flight. Thanks so much,Tom

No doubt I didn't read the manual/tutorial as good as I should, but before starting the engines, the tutorial tells me to shut off the avionic switches. After starting the engines i have to switch them on.When i do so the FMS stops working and i can start over again. If I don't switch off avionics and start the engine the same happens. The FMS switches off and I can reprogram it again.Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for helpingEric

My JS41 is currently unusable because suddenly I can not enter data into either the EHSI or the EADI. The graphics are there but no figures are there or can be entered.I can't be 100% certain but this seems to have happened since my AV prog found and quarantined a file that it said was a virus - dx7vb.exe. Does this file mean anything to anyone here and could this be the cause of my problem or is there something else you can think of?Iain Smith

Does anyone know what is the maximum airport altitude that the JS41 is certified to operate from/to?My first attempt at departing Cuzco (10,860 ft) did not go too well - I did get airborne, but the climb performance was pretty miserable. And this was at temperatures around freezing, I'd hate to try it on a summer day ... Of course, the airplane was probably never designed to operate from a place that high.

Hi, I have had the J41 for quite a while now but its been in the hanger for several months. Yesterday I few her and encountered two issues, both of which I have had since day one.1 - I cannot for the life of me get the GUST lock to move. I the past is has been in the engaged (UP) position and I have been able to release it and move the handle down but now it is stuck in the down position. Any ideas?2. - On my first flight yesterday I had no problem getting the plane up and running. After the first leg I manually shut everything down and hooked up the external power. When it came time to start the engines on the second leg the engine start GND switch would quickly snap…

I have done a search but couldnt find anything that really matches this issue. I was doing a flight from jfk to kclt and wanted to delete a fix as it would be behind me. I tried to delete the point but instead it deleted the whole flight plan. I then tried to reenter the plan and it caused fsx to crash. I have had this happen several times on the ground before as well when making changes to the flight plan. So my question is how many others out there have this same issue and is there a way to step through the flt plan before take off so you can delete points you dont want. Also is there a way to delete a point while flying or do you just use the direct button on the fms. …

Hi,I've only just started to fly the J4100 and have a question regarding the FMC. If I want to enter a route and only specify my departing rwy and then DCT to my first fix is this possible? To me it seems I'm forced to choose a SID and/or transition. For instance I have a route like this...ESSA SID RESNA T314 DEGAL L870 OSS T405 NETAV P600 LURAP STAR ENTCand I would then be able to go direct from the dep rwy at ESSA to RESNA.Is this possible with the FMC in the J4100 or do I always need to use a SID?

The ground power button on the overhead has two different positions (other than "OFF") - one labeled "GND PWR ON" and another labeled "BATT ASSIST/GND PWR ON". What is the difference between the two - when would you use one over the other?

As the topic suggest I have a question about the GND PWR switch in the J4100 and how it's used, when would I only use GND PWR vs BATT ASSIST GND PWR? Tried finding some info regarding this in the documentation but couldn't find it mentioned anywhere.

Hello folks,Been flying the "41" for several months now, and it really is my favorite. In the past, when I would hover my mouse over individual buttons such as course / heading / alt, etc. on the +/- signs, for lack of better words, a little message would come up showing the actual settings and as you would move the +/-, they would also change. NOW, I only showthe +/- and no readouts. My aging eyes have a hard time reading the actual guages readings. What do I need to do to get these back.Your help is always appreciated.cthiggin

Recognizing that JS41 doesn't include the entire range of FSX keyboard commands, a couple would be very useful to me. Do they exist?1. To centralize control wheel (neutralize aileron and elevator).2. To toggle between mouse control and yoke.I could swear I discovered a centralizing key, but can't relocate it! As for a mouse/yoke toggle, didn't find it yet ...With thanks as always.Best wishes,David Abrahams

Hi,i'm climbing up to FL100 (with 98% RPM; Autopilot + ALT SEL + IAS). At FL100 the AP keeps the altitude and the plane starts accelerating...Then i reduce Torque:73% -> 218 kt / EGT: 530 (EGT-Limit: 580)Now i try to speed up a little:73.5 % -> 221 kt / EGT: 534 (EGT-Limit: 583)And then:73.8 % -> 222 kt / EGT: 536 (EGT-Limit: 583)Now the rate of acceleration is climbing faster and faster without me. Finally:73.2 % -> >250 kt / EGT:540 (EGT-Limit: 596)What's going on here?Thanks for help.

Hi! I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced the following:Flying @ crusing alt, LNAV enabled. I switched to an other application - let's say Internet Explorer - and after two-three minutes, I find my Jetstream continuously banking to the left, so to speak, circling in the air. The first time I experienced this I thought I did soemthing wrong, the second time it was getting really strange, and I suspected it is related to switching to another program, and today it happened again, I just switched to IE for a couple of minutes and when I returned to the game, I found the airplane banking to the left and flying a nice circle rather than following its programmed route. I…

Hi, Everyone!I was wondering of someone could give me some tips / suggestion on controlling the speed of the J41?I can get it to fly with the speed rising or lowering pretty slowly, but i was thinking of there was a way to 'fine tune' my throttle adjustments? I only have the keyboard and a joystick, no fancy controls, so i can only really use the F2 and F3 buttons. Also, what sort of NM range (roughly!) can i comfortably get out of a full tank o' gas? Iv seen mixed opinions on here, but dont wanna start a big flight and not make the runway! I know wind and pax, etc. have a factor, but im looking for an average ballpark figure if possible. Im hoping to attempt my favourite …

Hi All - Can i ask roughly what the 'top' speed of the J41 is? No matter what my altitude, the red 'overspeed' line always seems to be on exactly 250, and the alerts sound if i go over it.Sorry to ask such a basic question - im only really starting out in the J41.Thanks for your valued help! :-)

Hello, I am just going through the tutorial. The problem is that if I save the flight and re-load it later allFMS data are lost. The FMS is turned off and I have to turn it on and start the flight planning again...this seriously drops the fun rate of this airline. What am I doing wrong??Thanks!Peter

Captains-A few nights ago, I made the mistake of telling Paul that I was completely caught up on my (small) part of the support queue. Since he was worried that I might get bored since I only have the NGX on my plate for a few weeks... He forwarded an unusual support request that had some questions about the JS4100.Normally, we have to decline to answer such requests personally- as it simply isn't possible to teach someone to fly a complex airplane by email. This one struck my fancy, however- so I gave the answers a shot. After sending the reply- I thought some of you might wonder about the same things- so I figured I would re-post the discussion here for your enjoyment…

Hi all,Started a flight in the night, and after takeoff I noticed something unusual under the fuselage. Two things that I did not see before. But maybe it they were there already on the ground but I did not notice. It was night time and I first though I forgot the landing gear:-) Then I switched to daylight to see... and noticed that it's something else... What are these things on the image and how to get rid of them? Thanks indeed,Zsolt

Hi all!Yesterday, before I purchased the J41, I made a post asking whether the JS41 is really causing so many crash to desktop errors, I really wanted to know it before I buy. There were way too many reports on CTDs and I was unsure as to buy it or not, it is EUR 40 after all. Finally I bought it but I had the feaar that those things reported may happen to me too. I have been sitting in front of my PC since then, slept just four hours, but I could not yet complete even one flight without an out of memory error. First, I experienced the flahsing VC window thing. Ok, I did the suggested workaround, now it's fine, although I wanted to have the great icing effect, but the onl…
