As far as questions about the JS4100 go, I think this might be one of the more obscure:Why is it that you cannot push back with the engines running?Though I've flown in one, I don't remember the details at the start of the flight. It was at a remote stand at EWR, departing for IAD on ACA. At IAD, I definitely remember an awkward taxi-in to A7, re-inforced by seeing the JS41 lead-in lines while working the ramp with IDE (oddly enough, on the former A7, combined with A5 and renamed A3). If you want to have a look at them, go to IAD in Google Earth and step back to the image on 29.April.2002).I've done a quick Google search and a quick look around the manuals to check for…

Recently, I purchased a throttle quadrant. It has 3 rocket buttons so I can map up to 6 actions to them.I am particularly interessed on engine actions.How could I map the buttons to events such as...1. Start left/right engine (overhead buttons).2. Stop left/right engine (overhead buttons).3. Push latch relase left/right buttons (center pedestal).4. Unfeather left/right propeller (center pedestal).I know FS2crew voice commander can trigger such events during cold and dark setup, so I suppose these events can be triggered without mouse clicks...I own a registered version of FSUIPC, if that matters.Thanks,M. The Pax number on the load sheet can have a maximum of 29 apparently.But the number for each section A, B or C seems wrong somehow.In a 30 Pax configuration there would be 3 sections of 10 Pax according to the AOM.In a 29 Pax configuration I get 8 Pax in section A, 12 Pax in section B and 9 Pax in section C in the interactive Load sheet.The seating plan in these sections for 29 Pax at Eastern Airways is 9, 10 and 10.Why this difference in the load sheet?

Hi guys, my first post in a very long time of being away. Anyway, I was wandering how people go about planning their flights in the JS41 for example how you decide what altitude to cruise at and also how do you figure how long the flight is going to be? Can anyone suggest any good flights for the JS41 as I'm loving it and being back on FS and having just invested in a yoke and pedals, FS2Crew J41 voice edition and TrackIR.Thanks

Hi,I'm trying to set up a manual ILS approach in the JS4100. I select the ils approach frequency but am not able to bring up the localizer or glideslope display in either the EHSI or the EADI. I've tried V/L in LNAV mode and switching to VOR1. I tried arming approach and hitting V/L, no joy. I've searched the subject in the manual and the forums but am still missing something. Basically I want to tune the localizer without the FMS.Can anyone help?Thanks,Doug Wilson

Flying this nice Jetstream since SP1 is fine and all major problems seem to be fixed.One remaining is the texture flicker problem on some machines with all VC details set to high and another one is the missing Hold function in the FMS (which is mentioned in the manuals and only a small forum hint gives the answer to its non working character: it has not been implemented yet). Additional minor fixes for problems mentioned here and there may also be welcome. So while everybody might be talking about the NGX or enjoys some 747 additions, my question targets a possible SP2 release and the question if the missing Hold function will come with it. Hello, Got the product today and it looks sweet. Only thing that really bothers me is that i get CTD's all the time and FSX stopped working messages. most of the time this happens at the selection screen and i hit go FSX crashes. This is btw only with the js4100 i dont have this problem with the md11 or 747. 2nd thing is that there is no dark and cold option anywhere. Is there a way to get the aircraft in this status at all? Cause i would like to learn all the startup procedures from this state. The load JS4100 makes my FSX crash so that doesnt work. greetz and thx in advance.

Hi all. First time poster.I don't even really know how to explain this or where to search for this, so I'm sorry if this has already come up. Not sure whether I have a technical problem or just a lack of understanding of how the FMC will fly a SID.I'm departing from EGFF using the latest AIRAC which looks like this:SID BCN1A RNW 30 TRK 300 UNTIL 5.1 FROM FIX RW30 TURN RIGHT DIRECT FIX D214O AT OR ABOVE 3500 TRK 034 UNTIL 11.0 FROM FIX BCN TRK 034 UNTIL 6.0 FROM FIX BCN FIX BCNMy expectation was that after take-off and switching to NAV and engaging AP, the AP would follow the SID, flying straight ahead for 5.1 miles, then turning right to fix D2140. Hi all! For some reason, when i try to hold the unfeather switch to left or right, it will not stay on any selected position. It will return to it's middle position (off) after about one second.That makes the task of unfeathering the props an impossible proposition. Any help will be appreciated. Tx, Al.

Hey there. I have been using the J41 ever since PMDG released it. I was running it on an older 32 bit system. Well, recently I upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit. FSX and the J41 work completely fine, expect for the Configuration Manager. Any settings that I change and save, do not get applied to FSX. Like I said, I am running Windows 7 64 bit, i5 2.4 Ghz, 6GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 512MB. Thanks for the help.

Just purchased and so far having 2 major problems. Shimmering flashes and opaque boxes in VC and als cannot get plane to steer while taxi.......MY PMDG MD works fine on my system...whats wrong with this plane.

AggghhhI am having the same problem as Dave. Even though I have cleaned my registry (how well I dont know) I still can not get this thing to run. Good Morning All ---- Been getting up to speed on the FMS programming and so far, so good. But for one thing.I have searched everywhere I know, tried many combinations in the FMS and cannot delete stored flight plans.The FMS contains an "ERASE" command but it does not remove the FPs. Hmmm. Can any J41 FMS veteran out there pass me a clue?I want to avoid deleting files directly on the hard drive if possible.Many Thanks!!!!

Hi all I very recently decided to learn how to fly this bird and initial impressions was awesome. I did the start and takeoff part of the tutorial and during climb I found a very annoying problem. Now I'm 99% sure I have the plane configured. Using that handy T/O config button on FO side makes no alarms. So I rotate no fuss. Now the HDG and NAV works like a charm however the ALT , ALTSEL and IAS are causing problems. I assume ALT means hold current ALT because thats what it does after some oscialltions reaching + and - 2000FPM. Now switching to IAS just gives me oscillations. I actually see the FD going up and down making it feel like a rollercoaster. Not at all maintaing…

Good morning everybody,Just a little question.For the J41, it is nescessery to insert the duration of the flight. (1.2 hours, 2.5 etc)It is easy to calculate the amount of fuell with a new destination, but has anybody a simple way to calculate the duration of a flight.like "distance : average speed = duration" I must say most of the time, this won't work properly. :( ThanksEric

Hello Everyone,I was having problems with CTD's and did a complete re-install of FSX, add-on's, and the J41. Now when I go to fuel the aircraft via the FSX payload and fuel manager it says the tanks will only hold ~450lbs each but the aircraft's gauges show ~2900lbs total. Is something wrong or is there another way to load fuel into the J41? Not a huge deal but the shorter flights I've been doing require less fuel than what comes loaded and I would like to be lighter. On a side note I finally completed my first and second flight! The first was from KCRW-KSDF, and the second KMIA-MYGF. Awesome aircraft PMDG, keep up the good work!Charles "Dusty" Hardman

Hello,Thanks to the operating manual for the J41, I am able to calculate V1, VR etc. but how do I know what rwy length is required and the corrections for density, rwy surface contamination, rwy slope, wind etc? Does PMDG provide documentation on this?Thanks,Richard Ehlers

Hi PMDG Support people,I just bought the J41 and it's beautiful, apart from the shimmering in the VC around the gauges.To be clear, it looks like the geometry around the edge of the panels and gauges is causing this shimmering.It is exagerated because I use a TrackIR, so my head is never 100% still.Is there a fix for this?I run 2560x1600 with 4xAA Supersample, 16xAF and Transparency 4xS and the shimmering is awful.I tried 8xSQ and it's better but still there.Thanks for your help,Toby
