When i pushed the cockpit door for the first time, mean trying opening the cockpit door, i was very surprised to recognize the voices of the flight deck crew...I did not know that PMDG hired Beavis and Butthead as Pilots... make me laugh...:( Cheers,

Hello all, After looking through all the responses for the CTD for the J41 I thought I would post what problems I have and hope that someone might be able to help.I am using FSX with Vista 32 bit with SP2, T7200 at 2.0 GHZ processor with 4 gb ram.Nvida Gforce Go 7900GSon board Conexant HD audioClean intall of FSX and J41. Install was perfect.However, once I pick the J41 I get one of two things. If I try to switch it while the engines are on, I get a CTD. I if load it static, it loads find. I can look all around, move switches and knobs EXCEPT, the Ground control unit switch or the Starter motor switch. It will then close down :(This is what I have done so far.Changed th…

Hello,I was flying tutorial flight with J41 and did a search on the forum, but I still have few questions regarding FMS:1) AOM page 112 states that to enter the active flight plan into the TRIP PLAN page I should select the TRIP PLAN field with the line select keys and INSERT “A”. However I was not able to enter anything on this FMS page. It seems that active plan is already inserted by default. So I don't know if I overlooked something or if manual is not correct.2) On the very same page (TRIP PLAN) I can see field called "ETA @ KIAD" with value "19:60". Please see attached picture. Hi all,Now that Jim made a great repaint for me, I am going to purchase the PMDG J41 today. However, I'd have a few questions beforehand. There are too many CTD reports. Is such a CTD "usual" for the PMDG J41 owners, do most of you guys experience it and "somehow live with it" or is it just for a few? Will there be a service pack available (after the NGX maybe)?Second question, on real photos I noticed that on the LEFT side of the aircraft there can be 10 windows, and in some cases, 11 windows. Hi,I just bought this last night and am having serious trouble with the J41 and have not been able to use it.Installed program with no problems, ran FSX - It only brings up the module acceptance for PMDG_BAe_JS4100.dll and PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3.dll - not PMDG_BAe_JS4100_2.dll. Activated on-line no problems. Started to load up and the CTD.I use Vista Ultimate 64bit and never had any problems with any other payware AC.I completely uninstalled the J41 using the install program, uninstalled all add-ons, unistalled FSX , and cleaned registry of all traces.Then reinstalled FSX with sp1 and sp2, then installed the J41 again. All installed correctly including the Microsoft Visual C++…

Finally!...I can climb to proper altitude, establish heading, and descend thanks to several of the good posts here on the forum.What I can NOT do is disengage the LNAV so that the APProach can be engaged. NAV seems to be disengaged at the AP head, both VORs are tuned properly, but I still cannot get APP to engage and the LNAV is still on the EHSI.Surely there is some switch or button That I am missing. This is a very interesting aircraft but it surely has lots of features that are totally unknown to me.Help will be gratefully accepted.Neal Howard

Hey all,I was wondering if anyone is using the VRInsight MCP combo panel with the JS41. I know some are using it the with the MD-11 (which I also have) and are happy. I will probably be picking up the MCP combo panel soon and I am interested in how well it performs with the JS41.Thanks!Nick Mathews

All of a sudden the J41 freezes and a pop up screen says I have run out of memory and I must change the settings and reduce the amount of ferries etc etc. This has never happened before . I have turned them down to test and the J41 still crashes. The MD11 is not affected with full srttings or default traffic etc. I have changed drivers to 258.96 to no avail.The card is cool at 58c. Not sure why it only crashes on J41 and this has only started recently.

I sent an e-mail to PMDG support last night but did not get an automated response. This probably means the e-mail did not get through their filters. Chances are a re-send will give the same result. Any suggestions?Iain Smith

I've read in one of the preview stickies above that while PMDG is not simulating a WXR, the WXR screen will "seemlessly" integrate the Reality XP WXR500. Just curious if the release will include instructios for doing this? I haven't found anything in the released documentation. I really applaud PMDG for giving us this option and hope to have this working well...of course, I'm looking forward to the rest of the aircraft as well.

Hi all,Has anybody had any problems with the Autopilot not seeming to work.I take off ok, set a heading and altitude, the Autopilot is on, but it doesn't seem to actually turn the aircraft or stop the climb or decent when the required altitude is reached. If i manually correct these the Autopilot disconnects, as i imagine it's supposed to. The heading and altitude lights are on,on the coaming panel too. Usually with this aircraft, which i think i great, it's me not doing something not the planes fault at all. This one has me stumped though.Thanks for any help.Dave Phillips

Hi all,Guess I have mis interpreted what I read in the tutorial - after departure and in the climb to planned altititude (say 15,000 ft) I will reduce the throttles to give 98.0% RPM. However at this setting, keeping other parameters including condition levers "in the green" (so as not to blow up the engines) means that the aircraft accelerates very slowly and only hits cruising speeds once levelled out at the assigned altitude. Should I be reducing to 98% only later when levelling off or perhaps first be accelerating to 235kt (?) and then reducing to 98% and at the same time engaging the IAS on the auto pilot which as I understand it will the adjust climb rate to maintai…

HelloIs there anyway to assign the pitch wheel to buttons on a flight controller? I have the FSUIPC and some LUA that assigns just about every function of the J41 except for the pitch wheel. Anyone know how to do this?thanksJim V

Hi guy's Have just been searching around the forum and on FSUIPC's (configuring panels to work with FScrew2) and can't seem to find a key command or LUA that contains a trigger for the conspic lights.Does anyone know if there is one or how to make one and would willing to share the information?Regards Mick Haines

I just noticed something interesting. I've tried several mouse devices on this and all react the same. When running the j41 if my mouse pointer is in the display around the cockpit I lose around 5 to 10 fps. If I press alt and put the pointer up in the header for the menus my fps go up around 5 to 10 fps. This does not seem to occur with any of my other aircraft so not sure whats in play here. Hi,is there a 'rule-of-thumb' that can help to calculate the right moment to reduce speed while approaching?In the tutorial on page 86 is a good explanation for the right point to start the descent, but where/when do I have to reduce speed from 240kt to 190kt (in general)?Thanks for help.Wolfgang Liehr

Hi all !First, thanks to PMDG for this great product ! It's amazing, really. But I've got a problem, that's a bit strange. After months of flying it, I had to leave it in the hangar and when I took it again, the avionic doesn't come up (I mean, the artificial horizon, the hdg display and the radio control panel) , there's no way, I've tried them all. i thought it was a problem of resolution, so I tried to change from Normal resolution displays to High resolution (or maybe it was from high to normal, anyway, it didin't change anything), I tried to uninstall and install it again, and so on. :( I've got W7 Ultimate and FSX. I just picked up the J41 last week and have been going through the manual and tutorial with great success. I have run into a problem when setting up from the airport at TUPW. The FMS does not show me located at TUPW but rather at the nearby airport, TUPJ. When I try to enter in TUPW it will not save and the enter button does nothing. It's like it doesn't recognize the airport. Note that I have modified TUPW with ADE from its original configuration, larger rwy and more parking but no position changes. I also updated the NAVDATA to 1007 if that makes a difference. I'm not sure how to correct this. I have relocated to other airports and tested the alignment and everyt…

I've mentioned this before a few times because the raindrop effect is not desired by me. I think I was told this could be addressed in a patch. I know others wanted this effect, but please do provide a way to stop it from occurring, besides asking the user to stay out of bad whether :( It's a really nice plane except for that, and the missing gauge pop ups as the VC is just plain too small to read--just two gauges pop ups would solve that one.Noel

I love the Jetstream and the M-Panel is a super piece of equipment but I cannot get them together. About all I can do with the M-Panel is tune the radios/transponder/etc. and operate flaps and gear. But the really crucial operations (IMO) are the AP functions and the M-panel cannot set any of them (however it can turn the AP "off"). Oddly enough, when the JS 41 AP is engaged then the M-Panel readouts are exactly as on the instrument panel. There is probably some simple procedure that I have missed, but don't know what else to try.There is bound to be some really bright, and generous, sim pilot here that can help and old (slow) pilot .My thanks in advanceNeal HowardTakin…

Hi, all.First; I've flown the JS41 through the whole summer and enjoyed many hours in this wonderfull aircraft. I follow procedures and checklists and pretty much avoid the various engine startup problems I had initially or reported by others. Wombats genious "cold&dark.exe" has been to great help, to say the least!Recently I've started to fly the JS41 in combination with FS2Crew which also sets the AC to a cold and dark state when you select the "PreFlight" option.
