PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

HelloI've two problems with the start procedure1- with the EHSI and EADI displays : After the engines started, I turn the "Avionics" Button "ON". I hear "Systems ... ok...." but these two displays don't light.2- I've another problem (this one is less important) with the engine start : I must turn the "Start Master" and the "Start" Buttons two times to start the engines (the first time, the 2 buttons back immediatly to their initial position :( and the second time, the engine start).I tried to re-install the addon but it's the same thing. Anybody can help me with these two problems ?(I use a cold and Dark lua file found on this forum).Thank you for advance :(

I know the SOP is to push the GA Button prior to departure but whats the point? SOP calls for 70 kts V1 VR then Pitch to maintain VY until 1500' then 170KIAS right? Well what airspeed is the FD pitching for in the GA Mode? Wouldn't it make more sense to set IAS Mode (using the calculated VY) and follow the FD commands that way? I learned that if you where going to use the FD; then set it and follow it, otherwise turn it off....its a distraction if your not following what it is telling you too. I just have been following FS2Crew's SOP's and I just dont understand what to do. Thanks.Ron Hamilton

Hello,I'm a proudly new customer of the fantastic looking PMDG J41. Today is my very first day of trying to fly this aircraft. I tried to getting started by following the tutorial flight. But I can't find the mentioned "PMDG BAe JS4100 Tutorial 1 at KHPN" - file in my "load flight" menu.Can anyone help me?Thanking you in advance,Hendrik

When I first load or end (back to FSX screen) my cold & dark flight (engines are not running), I hear the engines go from running to shut down (quite loud). Any clues on this anyone.

I have all the updates/patches installed but the FMS is very intermittent. I have had no lick tonight and the unit just remains blank with no power. Any ideas ? ThanksRichard

Hello,with the help and patience of Pete Dowson I managed the next round of some helpful commands for the J41:It's different now to my last one, because the logic behind these buttons is an other.All you have to do is copiing the code below into an empty wordpad/editor file and name this J41.lua ... the name doesn't matter, jus the LUA is important.Of course you should remember your choosen name ;-)Save this file in your FS MODULES FolderNow got to the FSUIPC menu and look into the pull down menu for all the FSX commands.Here you find the entry Lua J41 and choose it. I have flown a couple of dozen real craft, mostly SEL but a few twins, never a turbo-prop. This plane has brought me to my knees. I finally got the flight plan programming down pat, got the props locked properly, and thought all was well until today. Both engines were started as per procedure, prop latches set, almost ready to taxi and the starboard engine quits. I attempted to restart it several times: fuel pressure on, selected engine for ignition, pressed starter which lit as expected. A second or two later ignition switch centered and start light extinguished. I have checked and double checked but can find no reason for this to happen. I'm guessing it is propeller r…

For some reason none of the callout sounds are played in the sim and I've even tried double-clicking the callout wav-files in Windows Explorer just to make sure there isn't any problem with the wav files themselves but maybe there is because they are all 100% silent playing them that way as well.This is true for all files called pmdgj41_callouts_*, the other wav files sound just fine. I've also tried using different speakers, both my 5.1 Logitech speakers system and my Logitech USB headset with same result regardless what speakers I'm using.TIA for any help,

Hey guys Doing some reading from the manual and did an inflight shut down which went good.When trying to restart in the air I tried having the condition leavers in taxi and flight positions and the engine did not restart. I had to manually unfeather then it restarted.Have you guys simulated the automatic unfeathering during an airstart ???Thanks Chris Finlay

Hi,I was wondering if anyone could repaint the PMDG J41 with Aer Lingus Livery. Aer Lingus dont have a J41 so it will be fictional repaint.There isnt a lot of detail in the livery but i havnt a clue how to use the paint kits dont have photoshop.This is the Fokker - closest to J41The repaint is greatly appreciated and it would be good to use with my VA (Aer Lingus)Thanks,Carl Murray :(

Hey GuysDuring a flight I got an orange C on the upper right hand side of the EADI and a HDG in orange writing on the EHSI.I have looking in the manual for answers and have not being able to find them. I think it means that the EHSI is not salving with the compass.Chris Finlay

I've noticed that some other folks have posted they also have had problems with the autopilot. My problem has been that during light the Nav with disconnect and the light will go off for no apparent reason. I've adjusted to eliminate sudden wind gusts to smooth things out but still having the same problem. Any suggestions on what I might do next would be appreciated. Thanks,CaptMacDon McDaniel

Hello forum!So here is the situation. I'm currently flying for a VA called Kelowna Air (http://www.kelownaairvirtual.com/). Our fleet consists of many aircraft including the Beech 1900D. Hi Guys -Im following the tutorial as best as i can, but i just cannot nail the J41!The problem i am having is with the Autopilot. On page 78, it say press Direct To the relevant waypoint. I do that, press the NAV button and nothing happens. The NAV doesnt illuminate.Also, even tho i have ALT SEL set to ARM (lit up in amber), my plane flies straight through and over the altitude i set on the big ALT dial on the FCS. And the plane is not making a smooth climb - the vertical speed varies a lot.The green AP and YD lights are ON on the FCS panel.I know the solution is going to be embarrassingly obvious, but hey! Any help would be very much appreciated!Thanks!

Hi,It appears updated nav data fixed the other CTD issue I was having entering a flight plan into the FMS, but this one is weird.I started the climb out. First, it wanted to get the waypoint TRK272. Since I was manually flying to start with I flew the track as per the ND, but it wouldn't continue to the next waypoint having passed it.I flew the next two waypoints, then let it fly. I intercepted the track, and it caught it, set it to climb at 160 kts IAS and let it climb up to FL130. About this time I decided I was going to return to the departure field in a simulated emergency.I set up the ILS frequency and VOR, and set the ND to FULL/LOC1.I started the turn and descent t…

You know the flicking noise that starts when your using GPU with engines turned of starts like tic tic tic tic really fast, well its happening over powering the loud engines during flight, and the worst thing is it gets louder, I know this is a glitch because when I flick a switch it stops, but gets louder again.Hope you guys can helpSteve Roberts

Hi, I need a little advise from you guys that have more experience then I do on this great aircraft. I'm having difficulty controlling EGT when I am climbing to altitude. I seem to be into the solid green on the EGT indicator unless I roll back power and reduce climb to a painfully slow rate. I must be doing something wrong somewhere.
