PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

I have thought I have had some simconnect troubles.For this I uninstalled AccPack, made a FSX repair (with no errors), installed SP1, installed AccPack again.So far everything works.... ASE, MD11, etc....But the J41 isn't really working.I've got black panels, throttle, RPM lever aren't working.I have uninstalled and reinstalled the J41 with ... doesn't help.Its not the electric or that I have missed sth to switch on in the VC... I have the J41 since the first day and know her systems :( Any advice is welcome!Thank you very much!

Hi all!I recently rebuilt my PC, updating Board, RAM and OS. Before this I had Win XP, and the Jetstream was running fine without any issue.Now I have Win7 64, FS and all updates/ addons were freshly installed.My problem is now: Somehow, at some point of time, announciators light up when they shouldn't. Just had a flight and made 3 Screenshots to show you the situation.Note: The aircraft flies as usual, there also is no aural warning. The attention getter sometimes lights up (no flashing, it's a steady light), sometimes not. The issue comes and goes, so at one time I have a usual cockpit, the other time the shown issue. Hey guys, I've had the J41 for a week now and it has for the most part been a pleasure to fly once I got used to all the procedures. Tonight though I had a problem and I dont know if its because of an incompatibilty with ASE or it was just a bad load with the a/c. Here's what happend. Started ASE and let it load, then started the Coldanddark.exe, then FSX. Once I ad my plane at the airport I pressed Tab-Q and got my cold and dark a/c. I did the usually procedures, programmed the route, started engines, taxi to the runway. Once I was airborne and climbing, I retracted the gear and flaps and then I hit the NAV button and VS button then the AltSel button, then engaged the au…

HelloHaving just recently got my engines to start with the kind help of some of you kind chaps I was forced to completely re-install FSX and all other add-ons including the J41.Since then I start the engines as normal - all ok. I taxi to the runway but, on starting my take off run, within a few seconds, the engines burst into flames.I'm not very experienced as a pilot (nor a fireman!). Can someone please tell me the usual reasons for engines catching fire.Thanks and regards.

I've configured FSUPIC using one of the lua's provided on here by another member (cant find who but it was the one where a seperate window comes up giving a step by step explination of what it's doing. I hope someone knows of the one i'm talking about).When I press the assigned button the systems shut down ok but the engines are a problem. Sometimes i'll have to press the button 3 or 4 times before they shut down. In extreme cases, I push the button and the engines explode into flames! Another thing: on start-up sometimes, all i do is turn on the fuel pumps and they start.Am I doing something wrong?Thanks.Matt

HiThanks to some of you guys I finally got my engines started and have been flying without the FMC. Now it's time to look at the FMC and it's my first time with any FMC so my questions are naive:1. When I reach the end of the config of the FMC on page 49 itsays the FMC is now initialised and ready for use. Earlier I pressed the ACTIVE button - is it now primed or must I do something else to invoke it?2. I could not find a way of saving my manual programming of the FMC and did not want to go searching through the FMC by clicking everything in sight so I saved using the FSX ; function - will this save the FMC content? Hello,Every time I start the J41, most lights are ON and it seems to be running. I would like to start in a COLD & DARK cockpit and start from scratch vs. starting the sim with all the lights on. On page 64 of the Tutorial, the last line, says, "Set the transponder to 1 TA by pressing the liine select key adjacent to the OFF flag, then rotate the large knob on the RMU until you see 1 TA displayed in the window.I know where the large knob on the RMU is, but I have not been able to find the key to set the Transponder.Where is it?Question 2:What is the purpose of the Go-Around Button on the Throttle?Roy Warren

After trying for a week (yes a week!!) I still cannot start the engines. I have seen and used the feathering tip. The left engine does start and it takes about three minutes to stabilise but then the engine cuts out and cannot be restarted. Same with the right.Before I kill the cat out of sheer frustration, is there a way of entering FSX with this aircraft and the engines running please? Yes - I've given up! Hello fellow users,I've had the "4100" now for several months and really love this bird. IS there a way in the sound config file to lower the VC engine sound?Everytime I fly the 41, I have to go into the FSX Sound and lower and change everything. I know with some other aircraft, the sound.cfg can be modifiedto raise/lower sounds? Just wondering - I am a very happy user.Thanks in advance,Tom

Hi there,Very pleased with the J41 apart from one thing very minor thing...I'm mostly flying the Edinburgh - Stornoway run and the US twang coming from the right hand seat just seems really out of place in the highlands. Any chance there is a way to replace him with a more local accent? Or remove him completely?I had a search for some files to replace with callouts I made a while back, but can't seem to find any.Any suggestions?Chuck Cumming, EGPH.

Everything I've been able to find, including the PMDG manual says the J41 has a range of just over 700nm. But according to FSbuild, it can make it to Midway from Honolulu; a distance of about 1100 with less than 5000lbs of fuel and 4000lbs payload. That figure includes basic IFR reserves. I'm going to try and actually fly this Thursday evening or Friday and see what happens but is this really possible?

I don't really understand the Flow Selectors, but on page 60 of the Tutorial is says to set them to 5, which I have been doing.I am now reading through the AOM and in Chapter 3, page 17, it says for Takeoff they must be set at 3 or less.Which one is correct?Roy Warren

Hello!Im having quite irritating problem.. I really can deal with it but if you have any idea why its so please geve me your tips. Here we go:1.Im flying from F/O side with copilot button pressed.2.Useing Copilots side radios as COM2 and NAV2ILS approach with 109.7 to RWY34 KHPN. When flying around and capturing loc with heading by pressing NAV it turns "CAP" as it should. After this is will not accept to press APP ?IF I put same freq to NAV1 side (109.7) and useing LOC1 (Yellow) from Right seat --> Now APP can be pressed and (CAP illuminates) and A/C starts to follow glide automatically. Just have to concentrate throttle anymore.. Why cant I use Right seat + NAV2/COM2…

Greetings, I attempted to fire up the JS41 after a few months of letting it sit idle, and am now running into all sorts of problems. The most prominent of which are recurring CTD's during the normal start-up procedure. They happen randomly as buttons in the VC are pressed, and no error messages are given when the sim crashes. CTD buttons (so far) have been avionics, battery, and ground power. There is zero consistency, meaning each button has caused a crash but the buttons have been pressed other times without a problem. Hello All,I have a strange issue going on here. I can load the J41 fine, everything seems good while actually at the airport/flight/etc., the issue that pops up is when I end a flight. I can end the flight fine, however, once I end the flight and am taken back to the FSX screen (where you choose your aircraft/weather/airport/etc..) I get asked to end the flight one more time. When I click "end flight" the second time, the sim just locks up and I have Alt-Tab out and "End-Task". This happens every single time I use the J41, and only the J41. I have a whole slew of add-ons installed (GEX, REX, UTX, ASA, UT2, etc..), but this seems to be the only aircraft I experience this …

Dear Team,after hesitating for a long time i bite it and installed Win 7 64bit Ultimate on a second HD. I also of course installed the JS41 and it does not let me activate the aircraft, telling me that the number of max activations were exceeded.This might be technically the truth but i am using the same machine, only another OS and HD. I have had this plane for two weeks and have tried to learn everything I need to know from this forum and using the tutorial flight.So far I can get through everything up through takeoff and raising gear and flaps.Then I start looking at various instruments and discover that the FMS is not on.I have completed the tutorial step by step without missing a step and somewhere this is getting turned off. I can assure you that I have not physically turned it off. I don't even know how.There is a step that you turn off the avionics and another step later, after startup, where you turn them back on. Working throught the FMS preflight tutorial, I get all the way to entering LRP into the FMS and it should bring me to a spot to enter the destination fix. But, instead it brings me back to a flight plan. I'm following the tutorial step by step and it's not letting me get past page 45 of the tutorial.Thanks for you assistanceRichard Bombardier
