I am experiencing IAS setting problem with AP:Before I connect the AP I set IAS 170 and Altitude 10000FT. After takeoff , manuayl climb. I click AP hopping plane will climb to 10,000ft with IAS 170 angle. My climb indicates over 4000Ft , IAS starts to fall and STAL warning I disconnect AP. In this scenario even I click ALT Setting plane keep climbing. Will you please advise, if I am doing wrong. I read manual several timesThanks

Been loving flying the J41 in and out of London city using the SID and STARS that they use.But just found a SID (clacton) that's exposed a big hole in my knowledge. It seem to rely on tracking specific radials of VORs which I've realised I have no idea how to do on the J41???A scan of the Operating Manual has left me none the wiser. Can Anyone walk me through the process of doing this on the Jetstream.... Otherwise I'll never get to Clacton! :)Dave James

I understand the speed card for take off as their is only icing / non icing values. However I'm a bit lost when it came to set the speed for landing as there is much more value..Here is an exemple, my load sheet shows 18732 lbs at landing :So I take the speed card, set it for 19000 lbs and here what are the values i am supposed to enter and in which order (i.e. which value for which color)Thanks in advanceArnaud de Saint Hilaire

All,There has been a lot of discussion regarding Takeoff Torque settings since the release of FS2Crew. A few folks have taken the initiative, and are actively looking for ways to approximate the performance data. There are some good ideas floating around, and I just wanted to add my take on the issue.I first attempted to adapt the real data for use in the simulator, but unfortunately, the amount of data that I have is too small of a sample to be able to extrapolate with any kind of accuracy. Second, the real data didn't really match the simulator in most cases, which I chalk up to the fact that the FSX turboprop model is totally boned. So instead, I spent the evening fligh…

Hi everyone: I love the j-41. Unfortunately the rudders have stopped working. They work on all my other addons, but do not work on the j-41, just move a little bit, not even using the "0" "enter" keys with my rudder pedals disconnected. They register fine in the control panel in both FSX and FSUIPC, and elevators, ailerons in the j-41etc. work fine - the gust locks are disengaged . Any ideas? Thanks.(I added the MD11 a few days ago, could this be part of the problem?) Lon Duncombe

Hello,Seeing this inspired me. I decided to create a table giving me torque settings, based on simple maths: (Maxmimum Torque Setting Used - Minimum Torque Setting Used) / No. of Temperature Increments = Diference Between Each Torque Setting. Those of you good with maths will see at lest one flaw with that forumla, but the precision is good enough for Flight Simulator. The program outputs 80 Torque settings: one for each degree between 40 and -40; the J41's outermost temperature operating limits. There currently are some limitations, however: It can only calculate the torque settings for pressure altitudes between 0 and 1000ft It assumes the Torque/Temperature differenc…

I've set my cockpit configuration settings to full version. If I set my external model option to full version also will it affect my performance when I'm in the V. Cockpit? Thanks,CaptMac

I was wondering if anyone could elaborate on how the torque setting works on the JS4100. I initially thought this was basically a power limit that didn't let the engines increase their torque beyond the setting even if the throttle levers were physically advanced further. However, it seems that this is not the case. I've only tried this on one flight so far, but I had the torque set to 87% and then advanced the throttles seeing values up to at least 93% (I was already reducing the throttles here because of EGT exceeding limits).I've been playing around with this looking for a way to simplify setting takeoff power. Since there doesn't appear to be a great way to have t…

Hey PMDG,I keep seeing reference to "PF/PNF" in the manual for the JS4100, which I understand the meanings of... but was wondering if there is support for shared cockpit, and if not, is there a way to add it? I think the FS2Crew is a great addon for an FO, but having 2 people working together would make the flying even more fun and realistic. If this has been mentioned before, my appologies. I went though a bunch of pages in here.

Hello all,I'm wondering if any one has a good way of determing appropriate torque limits to set for engine parameters? I ask mainly as a method of controlling EGT on takeoff. At most sea level airports, full throttle/100% torque works fine and does not exceed max EGT. However, at some airports higher in elevation using 100% torque would quickly exceed maximum EGT. Considering that some of my favorite routes are around Denver, Aspen, Colorado Springs and Telluride, this is particularly true.Of course why this happens is quite logical in the thinner air, but it still is something to be dealt with. The main reason I ask now is for the interaction with FS2Crew that is no…

PMDG Team,I just want to say thank you for making such a great aircraft. I purchased the J41 today (took me awhile) and after doing the tutorial flight twice I was able to make a Delta (ASA) run between Augusta and Atlanta Georgia. Still have some learning to do but overall the flight went well. I was hesitant about buying because I'm more of a jetliner kinda guy but I think I have a great addition to my hanger; no burning engines yet! Thanks,

Hey all, I've been using the JS4100 for a month or so and recently had a problem crop up that I'm hoping is a known problem with a known fix. When starting up the aircraft, whenever power is applied to the Avionics Master, I get a FSX crash to desktop. It doesn't matter what way I get power to the Avionics, either by starting the engines and then switching on the Avionics Master, or using external ground power to power it.This is frustrating the holy bajesus out of me at this point!I've tried doing a repair using the installer and reinstalling SP1, the only thing I haven't done is a complete uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for any help!Phil

Greetings all,I just purchased the JS4100, and have started reading thru all the documentation. I'm in the "pilot introduction" section, and on page 51 it refers to the SYSTEMS TEST panel, located on the right console. I've looked everywhere but can't find it. Can someone assist me with this "where's Waldo" moment?Also.....on the speed cards, specifically the pages for 18000lbs and 23000lbs.....am I seeing virtual coffee stains??Many thanks,Ron Priever

The Coldandark exe works just fine at EGLL but doesn't appear to function at EGLC ...Right now I've been starting up at [wherever] with the Trike, shutting off the engine, selecting J41 from the Aircraft menu, then starting Coldanddark, keying Tab-Q to go cold and dark. Strangely, at EGLC the cold and dark command Tab-Q is clearly accepted - but when FSX "clears" again, J41 is still in half-dark state as before.Any ideas or advice? Many thanks.David Abrahams

HI All,Some time ago a forum member posted a snippet of code which added two extra panel views for JS41. I believe one of the views was labeled "Captain's Seat".I recently reinstalled JS41 but forgot to save this extra code. :( If anyone has documented these routines or the original contributor can re-post them I would be very grateful. I found these extra views very helpful.Thank you,

Hi,I just re-installed FSX to my new computer build. (Win7 64bit). I went through the install process on the J41 and keyed in my lic number when asked. I have no instrument power. Engines controls do not move. The engines are running but the 'Stop' buttons do nothing. I have unistalled and re-installed and get the same result. Help!Bob..

I'd like to practice circuits and coupled ILS approaches at a named airport without having to enter an entire flightplan into the FMS.For those days when I need a sim fix, but don't have the time for a complete startup routine, is there an equivalent exe to Coldandark, which delivers the exact opposite state: i.e. "Readyfortakeoff"? :( If not, what's the best workaround? Many thanks.Best wishes,David Abrahams

Thank you PMDG for the Jet Stream 41. I try to be discerning with my add on aircraft and the JS41 is just superb. I've been flying this v a/c for a few months now and am becoming comfortable with its complexities. There are plenty of skilled reviews to read, but for me this level of simulation quality elevates our hobby way beyond 'game' status. Bravo! Bruce, Hampshire UK. FSX, Windows 7 x 64
