PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

I know this problem arised after the release of the 190's nvidia drivers, are we still having this visial problem with the latest nvida drivers?

Well, I thought i would do my first full flight today but I got an engine meltdown and don't know WHY.So first, when I loaded the a/c on the airport it had engines running, I wanted a cold and dark cockpit. My default flight had stopped engines but somehow when I start with J41 it always has the engines running. Anyway, I followed the SHUTDOWN procedure and they shutdown properly, no smoke. Is there perhaps a guide that I can use to have my J41 completely OFF (cold & dark) ?Then I initiated going through the checklists, PREFLIGHT, EXTERNAL, COCKPIT, WEIGHT & BALANCE, FMC SETUP.Now here things get hairy. Hello folks,For "whatever reason", when I started FSX this am, and selected the JS41, I got the attached screen. FSX has been working flawlessly as well as the JS41.All other payware and default planes do not popup with this screen. Do I need to reinstall the JS41 ? I also have FS2Crew installed which has been working flawlessly.Nothing has changed in way of add-ons etc. I did upgrade my nVidia Driver last night but it installed fine and FSX worked fine.I did enter my JS41 activation code to no avail.Your help would be appreciated.cthiggin

Hello Gents, I decided a couple days ago to re attempt to learn the JS41. I am reading the manuals, and have come across some things in the "Tutorial" that I can't seem to find for the life of me...A little assist would be great!1.) ***Deleted - found it*** I couldn't find the switch to check the time remaining on the AHRS alignment...2.) Tutorial states: "...ensuring that the ELT is not in the TEST mode". How does one do that? I read the AOM and don't see anything about testing the "emergency locator transmitter"... Hi guys!After recently purchasing the FS2CREW for J41 I started flying this bird again (letting my MD11 and MD82 rest for a while). This airplane has a quite different characteristics of what I believe is a normal turboprop. I've just started to learn the J4100 and as the topic suggests I would like if possible to use the mixture axis on my CH yoke to control the condition levers the same way I use the throttle axis to control the power levers. I've made a couple of attempts but still no joy, anyone else with a CH yoke managed to do this?TIA,

First problem... it is not compatible with Go Flight's MCP Pro or EFIS. For the EFIS it would be nice if there were some special key combinations that would map to some of the J41 EFIS-like capabilities such as the Range knob, the Barometric setting and the Left/Right VOR/ADF selector.Another problem I had was with the RMU, apparently you can somehow select between showing COM1/NAV1 and COM2/NAV2 sets but this is not explained in the Pilot's tutorial or the Pilot Intro.On the RMU I have noticed that sometimes it just wouldn't let me program the NAV or COM frequency. What happened to the JS41 wallpaper? I remember it being kinda nice and it isn't on the site anymore.

I all, I'm not sure if this has been discussed already (volume has but not remedies), so be gentle if it has. I understand that the J41 has realistic sound however, the volume within the cockpit drowns out my ATC. The engine volume can be changed in FSX to an acceptable level but the switches and voice calls remain high and I'm being deafened and it's waking my 2 year old which is much, much worse! Is there anyway I can reduce the sound of the switches and calls?Many thanks in advance. Jez Smith.

Suddenly my FMS flight plans can't be saved using the normal SAVE FPL button routine. Does anyone have experience of this and a solution? I've tried highlighting and not highlighting the ICAO plan title that appears with a .rte suffix, but to no avail either way ... And, in case this helps as a point of clarification, departure airfield and destination are indeed different ICAO codes ... Hmmm. :( Advice gratefully received!Thanks in anticipation.David Abrahams

Well I used to be able to save a flightplan from fscommander into my js4100 but now all of a sudden I can't, it saves it into my 747 and md11 but for some reason it stopped working for the js4100.

Hi More than four weeks ago i had to do a reinstall of my JS41 and when i typed in the key i got the mesg saying that i had used the key to many times. so i created a ticket and all that and was told it could take a while. Ok i can live with that they are busy with the NG But more than four weeks is a bit much i think i even paid for and extened download service and that didn't fix the problem ever.shafs

Hey guys, I was bored on a typical saturday and browsed pmdg's products, I have all of them except the fs9 ones... The beech 1900's are a must have addon for me and would like to know how to get them working in fsx. I do not have FS9, obviously, just FSX. Do I just buy the plane then continue with installer and instead of a directory of FS9, FSX??? Thanks, Steve

I have installed Jetstream 41 and the EFIS will not turn on. I have re-installed with admin priv on Windows 7 64-bit. I start with the default flight at Friday harbour. I have acceleration installed. I can start the engines and everything works including the FMC but the EFIS does not light up. I wait many minutes with no results.Any suggestions?Rob Ross

Flying into EGPH (Edinburgh, UK), EDN NDB is crucial last part of STAR. (Pity that FMS doesn't function to plan the associated hold and outbound leg, but that's another story :( ). What I am finding is that although the FMS recognises EDN for flight planning purposes, so it must be in the FSX database, manual tuning of the ADF on the required frequency doesn't seem to work, i.e. the needle doesn't come alive at all, even well within the NDB's supposed operating range. Does anyone have experience or advice on this, please? Would be much appreciated. Other ADFs have tuned OK, so why not this one, when the FMS seems to think the EDN NDB exists?Many thanks.David Abrahams

Hi.. Could someone tell me how I can make sure that my product is registered properly. I purchased a boxed system and loaded it.. and when trying to load the tutorial demo flight, the screen went black and stalled. Eventually, I just restarted and then just clicked on the aircraft and then it promtped for me to enter the license key. I did that, but must have mistyped some number or something.. I then got this message saying that registration failed.. and that it wouldn't run properly.So I restarted FSX and reloaded the tutorial.. and was able to get it started -- lots of flickering in VC view.. and on the way out during taxi the engines caught on fire. This is extremely dissappointing to set up a complete flight, try to change the RW for landing and end up with the FMC forcing a CTD. If you can tell I am Very unhappy, you are right. I love this plane, but this is getting to be a show stopper. Something with the nav database and the PMDG J41 FMC. Joe
