PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Hi, I sent this question directly to PMDG support, and thought I would post here also. I purchased the JS41 tonight and as the topic title says, the throttle is stuck on full and there are no displays.My first attempt at installation resulted in a freeze of the installer about half way through. I rebooted my machine and ran the installer again, this time it completed without problem. I started FSX and loaded the default aircraft (ultralight), I then loaded the pmdg tutorial. That is when I noticed the full throttle and no display. I checked the battery ground button and it had no effect.The other weird thing is that I was never asked to enter a license key at any point.…

I'm giving a go at this bird following the startup procedures in the tutorial. I had both engines powered up and then started to move the power levers to the hatch marks one by one to remove the start locks. I heard the engines spool up a bit and got the callout for start locks removed, then suddenly I get the external view with the message bar on top saying "Crash" and the plane was pitched in a 90* vertical position. What the heck happened?! There's a note about a bug in FSX's modelling of turboprops where the engines will run up to full power if left in the just aft of flight idle position, was it something related to this?Thanks in advance!Molly Norris

Hello!I have this Turboprob since day one but not used it often. But after buying FS2Crew (voice commander) for that airplane I fell in Love with it ;-) Amazing piece of Software!!!Two questions:1) How do I have to perform a powerback? Condition leavers flight?2) How can I start the engines without GPU? Can this aircrafts operates without GPU?Thank you very much,Holger

Hi guys!Yesterday I went for a flight in the J41 from ESSA-LZIB and evrything went just fine. Today I'm currently on my way back (LZIB-ESSA) but for some reason the J41 seems to have lost much of it's power. I noticed during the climb to my cruise level which is FL190 that between FL150-FL190 it took ages (using IAS @ 170 knots) and when finally reaching FL190 although I'm at the very limit of exceeding the EGT limits my IAS currently is just about 200 knots where I normally need to pull back on the throttle not to overspeed. Also I can't bring the torque higher than about 61 to avoid exceeding the EGT limits where I normally have the torque set at about 65-67.Not sure wh…

Did someone else notice that often in the J41 when you switch from internal view (like the v/c) to spot view and then back again to v/c view the sound of the engines doesn't follow correctly but gets different/corrupt in some way. I found out that a very easy way to fix this is to pause/un-pause FSX which solves the problem right away.Maybe it's a problem with my setup and/or soundcard but should mention I don't have any other sound-related problems in FSX nor anywhere else.I'm using a Creative SB Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series card.

I absolutely love this aircraft and it has worked great for me .. until yesterday. Now the keyboard doesnt operate the throttle controls any longer. I use my J41 with FS CREW and at engine start, i get the first officer telling me to check throttle position. Somehow, these are related.Anyone else have this problem? How did you troubleshoot it? Keyboard appears to operate other aircraft, just will not work with J41.Richard Thomas

I would very much like to replace the chronometer/davtron with another clock that has an adjustable simrate in it. I have FSPanel Studio which is unable to access the panel. Is this on purpose? Is PMDG trying to make the panel un-accessible to the public? I'm a bit annoyed :(

Same ILS axis deviation in the B747-300-400 and the MD11 of PMDG with the same additional detail, the cross bars thy are centered at ADI, ils mode on N/D, central bar moved to either side to the left or right it is as the indication of ils deviation in the bottom of the A/D ( this coincides), which suggests that it is not the fault of the SCENARY. any one with this same problem can tell me what is the solution, thanks in advance.villa

Morning friends,is it known problem that J41 have incorrect fuel indication placed at the base of engine instrument panel ot not? So, 1471 lb/tank is maximum value for indication, so if maximum capacity of fuel is appox. 5800 gallons indeed, regarding fuel indicator it will be no more than 2942 in both tanks. Is it possible to fix all alone or need to wait for nearest patch?Thanks in advance for your help and answer.

Good Evening Ladies and Gents,i am having trouble with the Jetstream 41. I have the ability to load it into fsx and set up the fmc and get the engines started (sometimes). However when im starting to taxi or just making last minute preparations my fsx CTDs. This only happens with the J41. It is a excellent aircraft to fly though. I don't really want to delete the sound .dll as i love the internal and external sounds and i dont want to change to 64 bit operating system as this will cause other things not to work. Ok, I just purchased the J41, installed on my Win Xp pro pc, and when I load the J41 I get this in the VC (see attachment). Anybody know what is going on? I have everything configured in my display settings according to the manual.

I really regret not taking a screenshot:I was flying the J41 in SA Airlink colours (night flight) and at some point during the flight (about an hour in) I went to external view for the first time and noticed something I have never seen before - the aircraft had what appeared to be a pod under the belly immediately forward of the wings. Also, behind the nose gear, was what looks like a photography pod - a small, short tube extending down. These were not graphical glitches - they had texture and rivets/screws, perfectly moulded to the aircraft contours. Hello,Flying with the J41 I always set the speedbugs using the IAS knob.But I have no idea why I should. If I don't the plane is flying with no problems at all. You have to set the speed manually.Setting speedbugs for the landing? I do, but I have to set the speed manually when I do a ils landing.Can an will anyone explain to me what the speedbugs do in real life, or is it just a reminder on the screen for the pilot?Thanks for helping.Eric

First off I would like to know why my last topic was taken down. Second, I also cannot get the support desk to confirm my e-mail. I click on the link pmdg sends me an all i get is a error page. Hello,I like the JS41 but I'm still searching for a shortcut for the taxi lights and for V/S inc/dec.I tried the taxi light shortcut for TOGGLE_TAXI_LIGHTS (defined in Standard.xml) but it doesn't work.I also couldn't find one for increasing/decreasing V/S.Maybe someone has a hint (I know there were a lot of questions about shortcuts in the past but none of them gave me a clue).Many thanks.Torsten
