PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Well I joined the forum pretty much to ask PMDG if they can add the Q400 to the future dash-8. I've been reading that PMDG was only gonna make the 200/300 series of the dash. I think that the Q400 should definitely be part of the future release. It's one of the best turboprops out there and nobody's bothered to make it. (Except for dreamwings but it was freeware and has flight dynamics that make u want to throwup). Anyways, when I saw that PMDG was making a dash-8 series, and saw that they were only making the 200/300, I was sad. I'm new to FSX so I'm not familiar with all of it's quirks. I noticed in the J41 tutorial that a specific way of loading the flight is suggested. Is this launch method required to have the saved panel state preserved? I've been launching my saved flights from the free flight menu and the cockpit does not load in the same state that I left it. Does the J41 even save panel states? Perhaps there are elves fooling around with the switches overnight...

Hi,is there any possibility to view the whole route in the HSI? In the 747 we have the "plan" mode to see all parts of the route when the aircraft is on the ground.Thank you

HelloI am still in the learning phase of this wonderful PMDG aircraft.I have still two remaining issues:1/ Even following the tutorial and make a lot of searches, I can not get any information written on the EADI and EHSI...????They are powered but no information appears whatever speed, altitude, heading, course.....I tried different config and different refresh speed...2/ With a registered FUIPC I assigned and configured 2 axis for the throttles. But when I push the 2 throttles full forward, only one of them goes forward, the second one nearly remain at the same placeThanks in advance for your advisesPascal

In celebrating our 13th anniversary Air Fresno has decided to go strictly payware and operate only the Beech 1900C for all of our operations. In the beginning we started using the Beech 1900D of Marty Baclawski and Tony Bolton, then when we switched to FS98 it was Barry Blaisdell and Bob May and Mike Stone. For FS2004 we used Beech 1900D's from the GMAX Academy, it wasn't until last year I finally broke down and bought the PMDG Express 1900D. I loved it so much I bought the 1900C as well, and as of March 1, 2011 we have decided as an airline to use ONLY the PMDG Express Beech 1900C for all operations. I just upgraded my system for use with FSX in anticipation of the NGX release...I7 2600K ocd to 4.8 GHZ, GTX 570 graphics. I must say I've been pretty impressed with FSX on this system, especially the J41. I've been a long time user of Track IR exclusively with FS9 (brand new to FSX) and various PMDG products and have always been thrilled with the way it works. I've been a little disappointed however with what I've been seeing with my Track IR 4 unit and the J41. It seems very jumpy, zooming in and out randomly, and the perspective in the virtual cockpit doesn't seem stable. I posted about this sometime ago.After upgrading for an Saitek X52 pro and pro pedal I can't keep the AP engaged in the Jet Stream anymore.Even with an enormous dead zone on my X rotative ( the elevator trim) the AP keeps disengaging.It is the only plane wich does such a thing.I watch in the saitek control panel and saw a micro mouvement on the two rotatives but nothing that can affect any plane behaviour on IL2, ROF or FSX.You can see it on the control panel but you don't feel it at all.Anyway, you can't fly with large dead zone on every axe in FSX. For exemple the elevator trim just don't react anymore.The problem is on the AP not on the hardware.I had to give up with…

Hi All, after i load J41 and startup and load a FMS plan etc, i sync HDG Bug however after about 10 mins into a flight i get a amber HDG mesg in the EHSI........and the compass is misaligned and HDG bug when depressed in LNAV mode is always offset, ive tried to re align on gound without luck..............anyone had the same?attached file with amber HDG msg.anyone with clues how to reslove this, ive tried hitting D for re alignment but no luck.all i can think of i and IRS alignment but not sure how to correct it

Dear expert colleagues,I've been trying out the "roll" knob on the JS41 autopilot console on final approach, to try to see if it helps with runway alignment in light crosswind or offset ILS ... but I'm not sure if that's its real purpose nor whether it's actually been modelled in our PMDG version.Could someone very kindly educate me on this! I've read the PMDG JS41 tech manual, but I didn't detect any lateral nav disengaging when I turned the knob nor any roll!Any advice and enlightenment would be much appreciated.Thanks and best wishes,David

Hi All,Started my engines and thought I hadn't removed the start locks which I may of already done... :/ But anyway moved engine number 1 throttle into the hatched area of reverse and then pressed F1 and moved the lever forward slightly and then the engine caught on fire and had to wait for the EGT to cool... I Have waited now, and tried to start number 1 again but it doesnt want to start :( Any tips on getting the engine to start again after a fire? Or is it a complete reload...?Regards,Tristan Marchent

So, I purchase a nice sound card (Sound Blaster X - FI EXTREMGAMER) and nice pair of speakers with a subwoofer (Logitech Z-2300).I get really super J41 engine sounds...but at cruise my subwoofer rumbles too much.With the Logitech bass control rotated to OFF, the subwoofer rumbles much less but it still rumbles...All other applications for the sound system such as music, everything is outstanding.Any suggestions for the J41 sound problem?Thank, zach

Ok this is kind of interesting. I've been troubleshooting a problem that just developed with the ch pedals. The brakes work but not the rudder. The rudder "flickers" and drifts. I've removed drivers, used the manager, uplugged, plugged, etc. Then I noticed the rudders function fine on all aircraft including other PMDG aircraft, just not with the J141. I also checked to make sure auto coordinate is turned off. About the only thing I haven't tried is to re build the cfg file. I searched the forum and couldn't find this problem. Even though I've reisnatalled Windows and FSX numerous times since purchasing the J41, I still have the same issue coming up over & over again...Until very recently, my system was FSX-SP2 and Win7x64. UAC and Defender are always disabled upon Windows installation as a matter of priority. They are NEVER active.Sometimes it takes 3 or attempts to 'successfully' activate the J41 after the initial install. Even then, I may go a few weeks without flying it and, when I try to, again I get the activation error message saying it's not activated and 'it may not work correctly'. I'm getting on occasion what appears to be a water vapor spray on the ground and behind the airplane. In the air it turns into a smoke effect about 200' below the airplane.Is this just me, or is there a known fix?Thanks.zach

I am successfully using DATA? to input descent profile in VNAV on the FMC, but am not seeing a meaningful ROD indication or ETE TODs, just TOC ETEs and indicated climb rates, even in the cruise. This may be because the Actual Alt indication at the top of the VNAV screen is showing ?metres instead of feet? In other words, having input CRZ alt of 18000 and actually being at that level, the Height indication on VNAV is around 5600 metres ... Any advice on how to change the Actual or make sense of what I'm seeing, would be much appreciated. (Sorry: a fast post - no time to arrange a screenshot. Hi All,I have read that a good cruising speed for the prop is at 260 knots... for the JS4100. However, I am going full speed, making sure I dont overrun the engines so throttles are back a bit as to are the propeller levers, but I can only get 196 knots...Anyone else got this?Regards,Tristan

First i want to say thank you to PMDG for this wonderful simulation!I have a question about the ground power switch, because i cannot find the answer in the manuals. Hello all! I've been using the J41 for about a year now and its simply the best addon aircraft out there at the moment in my mind! I really enjoy short 1 hour or less hops between regional airports and I love flying through clouds and over nice sceenry rather then being up at FL35 with nothing to see. Its complexity and detail give me great pleasure every day, money well spent! A questions i've wondered for the last while is that what does the three minute cooldown period mentionned in the manual mean? After landing I pop the condtion levers to taxi and head to the gate then just shut down as soon as I get there. I don't see any noticable fast drop in EGT by idling for th…

just purchased the Jetstream 41, which looks great. however in loading the acft, i use a screen resolution 2048*1152*32 and find that i cannot see the whole cockpit due to it not fitting my settings.
