    Today I tried flying the J41 with FS2Crew.I programmed the FMS befor starting the engines and in one of the procudures you usually turn of the Avionic button so that my FMS would turn off again.To prevent it from going off I switched the Left avionic switch on as soon as it was of. But shortly after that this thing to secure the switch (This yellow thing, however it's called) went into the position which usually applies after the switch is turned off. Now the left avionic was off (with the switch still in the on position) and it couldn't be pressed anylonger. So I had every instrument on the captains side of the panel dark and I wasn't able to turn it on again.Can someone…

    Hello, fella's, today i went to fly the bieutiful J41 and as i stepped into the cockpit i was looking strait forward. I didnt hear anything but that annoying clicking noise and the batt. So I turned my head to the pedestal and i heard the engines, went back to looking forward, nothing again. I tried un installing it etc but nothing worked, im guessing its something to do with the sound.cfg?? please help... thanks

    I have about 70 hours in a B200 and 10 in a 1900C in real life... And on pretty much all turboprops for fs9-fsx that I have downloaded (just downloaded the PMDG 1900c for FS9) it seems the ITT and torque values are opposite of what they should be...What I'm saying is, at low altitutes you are torque limited, the engine will easily over-torque;the air is more dense, and at high altitudes you are ITT limited. These engines operate similiar to a constant speed piston with manifold pressure... You set the takeoff power, usually 3000 lbs of torque for the 1900c for each engine, and the ITT shouldn't max out... As you climb, the torque starts to drop off and you keep adding po…

    As some may already noticed, JS41 has a 5.1 sound for FSX. If You have only 2.0 speakers, and look straight ahead, the prop sound is gone (or actually one can hear it if surround speakers are installed).I have somehow manage to have the sounds when looking forward, but the mid tones (FA's, copilot) are so quiet, I can hear them anymore. Is there a way to force the pmdgsounds.dll to have simple 2.0 speakers config?

    Anyone else have this inconvenience? I'm sitting at the gate, call for pushback, the J41 starts to move backwards, when reversed enough call for pushback to end, apply power to taxi and THEN the tug appears and chases you down the taxiway albeit at a snail's pace. :( The only way to stop the tug is to stop the aircraft, let the tug make contact and then it trundles back to the gate. I know it's not a real problem it's just comical to watch.Mike

    I am new to turbo props, When my aircraft first appears at the airpart my engines are running. So I shut down. I program my flight, check all gauges, the eletric supply is above 24 volts, Im ready for my start up. I turn on the pressure pump the left switch is feathered. generators and batterys are on. I left click to start engine 1 it cranks for about 2mins. then shuts down . No start. I can not make a second restart. Im missing something here . Bob Savo

    I will clearly be showing my ignorance of flying here, but I seem to having trouble understanding the use of the MCP on the J41. I d/l this A/C yesterday and love the flight characteristics, but am having a devil of a problem trying to get the MCP to work. As yet I haven't got to grips with the FMS and I wonder if that is where I am going wrong, but all I tried to do yesterday was fly and maintain a heading and altitude, I fail to see how the AP engages. I enjoy the workings of both the PMDG 737 and 747 and find very little trouble there, particularly regarding the MCP, so where am I going wrong here?     Something has been going on with my js4100, I used to be able to pick it from the free flight screen and then go to my airfield and it would be running, I would then proceed to do the shut down checklist and get her into C&D, but now when I select the js4100 in the free flight screen it makes a horrible engine shutdown sound then does it again several more times once I load the flight, once the flight loads the engines are off but spining, all the lights on the cap are on and all the instruments are off, No problem I said I'll just reinstall it, so I go through the uninstall reinstall process but no joy same issues, I also noticed that it does not prompt me for my ser…

    G'day everyone.Like most PMDG customers, I'm really enjoying the J41. A very challenging aircraft that is beautifully made. I'm nowhere near mastering it yet. Time will tell. I have stopped taking "passengers" for now though, as I can't handle the screaming coming from the cabin, it's very distracting ...     I made an error when I purcased the B1900D model. My intent was to purcase the B1900C version, guess I should have purchased it in the morning after a good night sleep. Since it was my mistake, and I can't afford to buy both versions, I'll live with it. However, I would really like to replace the 2d panel. In the screen shots of the B1900C, the 2D panel looks more detailed. Is there a replacement panel that would work with the B1900D version? Thank you for the assistence.

    Good morning all, Are there any parameters in the sound cfg file that can be adjusted to allow for the engine sounds to be controlled by the prop as oposed to the power levers (as it is in real life). I realise that this is an age old issue with flight sim, but I'm curious to know if anyone has ever found a usable work around to this dilemna (esp in the case of the 1900D since it's one of my favourite aircraft for FS9). I guess it would be somewhat of a compromise since the power levels do play a part in the engine sounds as well, depending on the particular configuration, e.g. takeoff. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.ThanksJermaine Clarke

    Hello fellow forum browsers, Today I took the J41 out of my virtual hangar for a spin just in eastern Quebec... When I got my engines up and running I noticed while looking strait ahead in the VC there was no noise from the enines, I have tried increasing engine sounds under sound tab, and nothing happened... Also this happens with several other aircraft and sometimes occurs on certain outside views... Thanks,Steve Roberts

    Hello.. I recenlty purchased the 1900 C, installed it in FS9 and then followed the directions to move it to FSX. I think that I got it there OK.. but am wondering... because of the below... When going to select aircraft in FSX, it doesn't show up as it should, but rather at the end of the options in a number of unknown aircraft icons. I can click on it and it seems to load OK, but I am wondering if this is normal or did I do something wrong. The only confusion I had with the directions was where I was modifying the aircraft config files.     Hello!I'm sure this has been covered, but I had no luck with the "search" button.I was wondering, if PMDG could provide the data needed for the guys at TOPCAT, so they can make TOPCAT and JS41 compatible?I asked the TOPCAT guys recently, and they said it could only be done, if they somehow had the performance specs and such for the A/C.     Brought the j41 a 1-2 years or so ago and I love it.Couple things I noticed made FSX freeze how ever.Main thing that made it froze and did it with out fail everytime was if I selected a STAR without selecting a SID.Thats one of my problem as sometimes there is no SID and I don't really want to use my FMC at Take off, but then have to use a STAR on arrival.Secondly and the main reason I'm writing this post is now I can't actually even enter in a waypoint or STAR or SID into the FMC.     Just brought the J41.It installed fine and everything but I can't seem to get the GPS to lock onto a VOR, I read another post which was posted a few days ago, of a similar guy having the same problem. The problem is that even when I have selected the VOR in the FMC, the GPS doesn't respond to it and so I can't activate the NAV button. I have added a photo file for further information.When I oped the GPS on first start up its stuck on 3203nm if I start up at EGCC (Manchester UK), Everytime. I have reinstalled it 3 times now and still no luckAny help would be greatly appreciated.

  24. I am new to turbo props. Most of the other aircraft can be programed for a cold and dark cockpit. My cockpit on starting flight sim X has both engines turning over but no ignition takes place because the fuel pumps are off. the batteries are on and the generator are on. The props are not feathered and there is no APU there at the moment. I shut down as quickly as possibly to keep temps down. Any advice on how to keep the engines from turning over.     I have the 737's and 747's from PMDG and love them. I also have the 4100 and am working through mastering it... Just wondering if I should buy the 1900 and then move it into FSX as instructed on the forum. But is it as complex as the 4100 in terms of learning curve. Also, what is the difference in the C and D models I can't seem to tell? Which one should I get? Thanks... bob
