My flight1 atr 72 is not functioning properly, and I was thinking, since I've tried everything to get it to work, and can't that I'd go for another short haul airplane, if I can fly the ATR 72, how difficult to learn is this aircraft? I can also fly the other PMDG fsx aircraft (747,37ngx, md11). Patrick Boynton

Hi there!After flying the Jetstream quite intense for a longer period I moved to other aircrafts to learn which now ended in the NGX. The best thing you can say about her is that she is nearly bugfree and fully functional from the start- seldom thing these days.Well after flying her every day now since she's been out I thought- well maybe get the J41 out of the hangar again for some short hops.But.. loading her in FS (choosing the aircraft in the menu) now always causes a CTD. This wasn't the case when I last used her. In the earlier days there were also many problems getting the FMC to work as well as graphic glitches and other CTDs which some of you might know very well…

Have loaded my newly purchased JS41. Can't activte the product online. When I continue through a flight I have no digital flight instruments. I am doing something wrong or would this be down to the activation issue? On the prompt I type the key code in upper and lower case with no success. 'Initialisation of licence failed'. Looks like a waste of money at this time. Can anyone help? I have submitted a ticket with PMDG but no response as yet. Thks to all. Keep 'em flying.....

Question: In the NGX manuals, it says you should NOT pre-load a default aircraft and then load the NGX, and refers to it as a common "FSX'ism", which leads one to infer that it is wrong to do so. Yet, with the J41, we have traditionally been told it is essential to pre-load a default aircraft. Obviously, these two items are in conflict. So, is the instruction in the NGX manual to not pre-load a default aircraft specific to the NGX alone, or does it represent a new understanding of best practices that we should now be applying to the J41 and other aircraft? Wow, I just wanted to take the opportunity to say what a fantastic aircraft this is! I've just started to delve into the world of the more modern airliner, as I've almost exclusively spent most of my time flying A2A's line of fantastic, but older aircraft. So, after a chat with a few fellow simmers I was told the PMDG are rather good, so I headed over to take a look. I noticed the J41 instantly, I've always been a long admirer of the aircraft with its sleek lines and high performance. I found a topic using search engine but I didn't quite understand the question. Anyways, flying the JS41 and if I calculate TOD 5 miles prior to fix named i.e. "DELTA" and I'm curently flying inbound "ALPHA" (taking into acount that there are 2 more waypoints inbetween), how do I know how many miles are there until "DELTA"? All I can find in manuals is this: But as I'm clicking on line select keys on trip plan mode nothing happenes. All I can see is distance to the fix I'm curently fling to.

Hi with all the excitement still on the NGX, I thought I would just check to see if there are still plans to release a SP for the JS41 post NGX release? It was mentioned before about one being made to fix a few bugs and to include a few new features such as hold functon in the FMS. Is this still the plan and is there a time frame in mind?

I'm having problems how the JS4100 FMC interprets a SID. The SID in question is the KENET2M from runway 26L at London Gatwick. I'm using Airac version 1107 Rev 1 in both the JS41 and the 737NG (FS2004), i.e. from the same source. The 737NG displays the SID exactly how it should be flown according the UK NATS AIS chart, but when the same SID is loaded into the JS41 its completely different and unflyable. For some strange reason instead of flying track 259 degs from the runway, it turns immediately left on track 149 degs for 48.6 miles to a waypoint called TK259 ?? It then flies to MID VOR, then D064H, then back to MID VOR then Direct KENET, totally missing out a couple…

Hello, I am finally getting to the point where I can really fly this thing OK. Cold and dark startup, taxi, T/O, Cruise and Approach are fine now. I am having a problem in the final stages of landing - I am at flaps 25, torgue at 27-29, speed at about 140knots then touchdown. What do I do now to slow the aircraft down correctly to the point that I can get to TAXI? Thanks in advance, Ron Sagel

Hello, When I start up FSX, I always start with a default load of the DC3 with everything cold and dark.If I load the J41 Tutorial Flight, it will always load fine and I can start up cold and dark.I can also relocate to any other airport and fly fine. The problem comes when I try to select the J11 from the aircraft menu when I have say the default loaded. The load startsup not cold and dark and very soon the engines will begin to fire up and they will catch on fire.I also cannot load a different J11 after I load the tutorial (say to change the skin to another airline) - same result. Can anyone please help here with what I am not getting right? Thanks in advance and cheer…

Hello Everyone,I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to replace the torque meters in the PMDG 1900D with torque meters that read in ft/lbs instead of % torque. Also if anyone has any tips on 3rd party panels that would make it more like a standard PMDG aircraft instead of an express edition, that would be great as well. I am studying for a Type and would like to have it be as complicated as the real airplane, if not at least a little more complicated than the express version. Aside from that the model is awesome. Also I know RXP is an option for upgraded EFIS displays, is that highly recommended by the owners? Thanks,Anthony

Hey, gents. I've been having a probem when trying to unfeather the props for engine start. Since I intalled the JS41 for the first time, I couldn't manage to unfeather the props as fast as I've seen in some videos out there. I have to press the unfeather button many times and wait several minutes for my props to be in the appropriate position for engine start. I always have successful start-ups, but I have to wait a looong time for the props. I followed the tutorial and normal procedures, but nothing. Even with FS2Crew's FO helping me out, it still takes a good amount of time to unfeather the props. Am I missing something?

Hi ... when i try to switch the fmc on the switch doesn't respond. I've tried re-installing SP2 as suggested in a thread on the forum but to no avail. I'm running a win 7 64-bit system ... Hello, I'd like to put a keyboard shortcut to the Go-around button. For the most and (for me) important commands I have used FSUIPC and the LUA script from one of the posts here. I tried to find something with the FSUIPC logging facility but without success. Maybe someone has an idea, or better a solution :) A tutorial on how to find such values to create LUA scripts would be helpful too. Thanks, Torsten

I came up with this solution for myself but you need the registered version of FSUIPC.I assume also that you have the throttles etc already assigned and calibrated for normal use. The following can also be used for the 'FEATHER SHUT OFF' with the prop levers. It works really well for me with both Throttles/Prop levers on my CH Throttle Quadrant. (For the props when setup just pull the prop levers into reverse and click on the 'LATCH RELEASE' button and and they slide in perfectly!- on the Joystick Calibration tab click on the 'No reverse zone' option and ensure it has a tick in it.- calibrate the 2 throttles with the levers fully forward, click on 'SET' under the Max colu…

When I try to start the J41 with battery power only and I try #1 first, the engine would spool up and seems to start normally until the cut out section happens and it will just shut down completely. Starting the #2 motor first do not yeld this problem. Any ideas? FS2CREW installed but not used when this happens. FRED

Hello there guys...i just got back into FSX...and reinstalled the JS4100...so right now sadly i dont have any PMDG MENU...i tried everything...deleting Key entries...reinstalling a ton of time...but nothing so far...the support page on the pmdg site doesnt say anything at all.Any idea?.thx in advance

Hi all,I've just downloaded and installed the Beech 1900C and followed the instructions for moving it to FSX. I don;t have FS9 so I installed to a temporary folder first. The aircraft loads fine and I can see the 2D panel, but the virtual cockit doesn't appear at all. I've re-checked the instructions for importing to FSX and I can't see any steps I might have missed. I'm running Vista with UAC off and I always run installers and FSX as Administrator.Can anyone help?Thanks,Paul Synnott

After starting the left engine succesfully, I tried to start the right engine without succes. Probaly due to a not unfeaterd propellor.The start procedure is automatically stop and the LP Valve R shut is lightning.I can't get rid of this LP Valve R shut. What do I have to do to restart the engine???CheersWerner
