On Sunday 14/04/12, the Vatpac (Australia/Pacific) division of Vatsim ran their "Panic Stations" event in Cairns YBCS. For this event I flew PMDG's venerable JS4100 in from YLHR Lockhart River into Cairns in Jim Hodkinson's "AirNorth" repaint (VH-ANN). Below is a link to a video of my participation of this Vatsim Event. Trent Hopkinson

Does anyone know where I can find takeoff and landing calculations for the 41. I have read the AOM from pmdg and cannot find numbers anywhere. I am looking for something like a POH for the aircraft with weight and balance with performance calculations. Thanks

I've had two of my flights end when the aircraft accelerated too much and was over-stressed. I noticed the speed gain immediately (I think it was caused by a gust of wind when REX was updating), but despite my best attempts, I could not get the aircraft slowed down in time. Because the spoilers cannot be manually deployed, all I could do was cut the throttle and pitch the aircraft up, but I got the "aircraft overstressed" message in just a few seconds. Is there a better way to slow down or at least make the time it takes to over-stress the aircraft longer? Thanks, boeing247

Just wondering since I have multi monitor cockpit setup, does the JS41 have a 2d cockpit? Thanks, Gerry

On approach to KBDL today with the J41, I captured the localizer and glideslope without any trouble, but as I neared the airport, the aircraft seemed to lose the glideslope and start climbing and descending to get back on course, eventually pretty much overshooting the runway. What might have caused this? (intercepting 100' below the g/s intercept altitude wouldn't do that, would it?) Thanks, boeing247

I've been thinking about purchasing the Jetstream, and while I was reading a review, I found out that when you load a saved flight, the panel state loads but the FMC state doesn't. Is there any sort of work-around to this? It would seem that since modern aircraft depend so heavily upon the FMC, having the FMC state load would be essential to continuing a saved flight. Thanks, boeing247

Hello! Have somebody ever noticed the boring noise that begins the second you have electrical power in the plane, something like "clicclicclicclicclicclicclicclic". It might be one of the first sound you hear when you begin from cold and dark. Is it a problem with me? Do you know the solution? Tkx!

Hello,Sorry to ask... this has probably been asked before but i couldn't find it... Is just a quick one... how to scroll the flight plan to review on HSI? Like pass to each waypoint to check if everything is correct. If is possible... i think it is because remember doing this long time ago (or i'm getting crazy).Thanks.

HiI have just reinstalled my JS41 aftre a along time of no use of it. It installs seemingly ok but when I try to use the load manager whilst it comes on with shift 2 key press I cannot select anything. Also the click spot on the FMC face does not work and so can't open it that way. Seems as if the installation is corrupt in someway although it is a legitimate purchase.Wycliffe

Is there anyway by changing the acft config file that I can set a zoom say 30 as a default setting? the reason for asking is that i usually have to spend some time playing around trying to get the correct settings. I guess one way of handling this would be to save the flight and then choose departure airport etc.but it would be great if I could just load the J41 and have the zoom 30 as a default.my screen is a dell 23" with a default setting of 2048X1152.any ideas welcomedthanks

Hello, before I open a ticket at PMDG customer support I want to ask the community about my issue.Several days ago I bought the JS41. I run the installer as admin and the authentication via the provided code went also well. When I start from free flight (trike loaded) and load the aircraft in ready to fly mode, the flight instruments need 3 minutes to initialize and I got in parallel on the annunciator panel the warning about the state of the deicing panel (s. pictures). Is this normal or not? If not, does anybody know how I can solve this issue?Thank you in advance

HelloI'm a total newbie with this plane so forgive my ignorance. For take-off I select HDG ; ALT SEL; and V/S 1500 fpm. Positive rate gear-up a.s.o. When at crusing altitude if I change to IAS mode the plane starts climbing and speed increases. Can you please tell me which is the right way to go or point me some tutorial to follow?Thank you so muchHenrique

has anyone experienced a "stuttering" phenomenon? flying between EGAC and EGGP at fl190, the acft suddenly started to stutter (similar to hic-cups) my frame rates varied dramatically between 25-36 in the VC view and over 65 in spot view.both views had the stuttering effect.hope that I dont need to uninstall and go through the process of re-installing again!thanksMel

Evening all -Loving the JS41 - still the number 1 plane in my hangar at the moment. Just to make sure I am not missing the boat I have a few quick questions. Yes or no answer are fine - I will dig up the rest of the information.1) Is it possible to start the JS41 engines without ground air / power?2) Is it possible to restart an engine after flame out or is restart of FSX required to clear configuration. This is a rare instance but it happened last night when an inadvertent key press caused the throttles to advance while I was setting a EZCA camera. Burned up right at the gate. I waited until EGY dropped to sub 200c but it was still a no go.3) Missing navadat (lates…

Hi all,i never met this problem before, or never take care of that ...When i m flying, i would like to switch view (Press S button), i lost certain sounds (i still have engines sound, reverse, and voices) like when i press button to arm spoiler, a/p button, Y/D button etc ...It happens only when i switch to the external view ... However, when i switch with S button, i have an another strange bug, i have only 2 views : Cocpit and external ... I suppose to have others like airport view and engine view ...At the begining of a flight (on ground), i have no problem, it appears only in flight ...Any ideas ?

Made a short flight tonight from PHNL to PHKO.Just trying to understand this plane better.Had a payload of 2850 with 1900 lbs of fuel for a 145 mile flight. The takeoff and initial climb were by the numbers and smooth. (Love this A/C)Anyway all the way up to 11K everything was nice. Now the rest of the flight was good too however not being that used to the performanceI notice that the climb started to slow way down. I kept an eye on the engines and around 12K had to turn on the anti-icing. Keeping the EGT in a good range the climb suffered even more. I had originaly planned on a flight at 17K but had to change that to 15. I never really got above 230 TAS for the entire fli…

Hello,A very strange thing is happening to my JS41 on FSX - suddenly for no apparent reason (usually at cruise altitudes) the aircraft lurches to the left (or right) the speed drops to the low speed danger red zone then into the 'overspeed' zone - followed by a rapid climb, the instruments go crazy -then it settles back & then the same thing happens all over again & again until I get to low altitudes - very odd!Has anyone come across this before?Any suggests to fix this hopefully?Other than this problem it flies beautifully, I love it.Hope someone can assist - thanksIan Zetland
