PMDG Turboprops (Legacy Versions)

Hello, I have discovered a small strange behavior of my J41. For example, after I have entered a fuel load of 2800 lbs on the load sheet, the same value is displayed on the fuel display on the bottom of the "rpm, torque ..." display. Now I power on the FMS, select the actual position of the plane, load the flight plan and click on plan to enter the reserve fuel (the exact same procedure as in the PMDG tutorial). There the remaining fuel is always 57xx lbs (so the plane is loaded with 100% fuel). The same on the last page, the value fuel on board. Has someone an idea what could cause these different values? Hello everyone, I've been flying for Mediterranea Virtual Airlines, an Italian VA for over a year and I've recently fallen in love with this splendid aircraft by PMDG. Hi all, Can someone give me an example of how you do VOR navigation on the J41? Typical example: I'm outbound on a VOR1 on a radial and I need to monitor VOR2 for crossing another radial and then turn to follow that radial. I'm interested in how you use the EHSI, EFIS Display Controller and/or the RMI. (In fact, the RMI is a complete mystery to me at this point.) I can see that the left and right dials on the EFIS Display Controller 'turn on' the circle and the diamond but I have no idea what it means. I can also see that I can flip back and forth between NAV1 and NAV2 display using V/L. But I have yet to figure out how it all interacts with the autopilot. The…

Hi all, I've had the J41 for about two weeks. All in all it's going pretty good but I do have a question: Sometimes I get the normal 240KIAS and can run 70% power. Sometimes, however, all I can get a cruising speed of about 190 KIAS with EGT sitting right at MAX. Engine icing is off and haven't been any icing conditions. I'm having to set power to 57% because of the EGT. Nose is about 3% up from the horizon. What could be causing the difference? Same airport, pretty much the same conditions. Flaps and gear are up. Hello, So it is hot on the ramp, got the APU running and the cooling system is on. I know this causes the EHSI to "drift". How do you guys get it back on line? I turn the cooling system off - EHSI never recovers. Shot avionics off, wait for the EHSI to come back in line, and when it does it still off. So recently, to keep the paxs cool, I have had to get the ground AC unit through the main hatch to keep the cabin cool.............. just kidding. Any ideas? Regards

Hi all, I have skated thru the manuals, so may have missed this but I am trying to assign key commands to certain switches on the J41, for example the rotating beacon, nav lights, strobe, taxi lights. Some (most) of these lights don't have an individual assignment in the standard FSX key commands menu which the J41 uses. I have a CH Yoke and throttle quadrant and have assigned these lights to buttons on the quadrant for the PMDG 744X using FSUIPC (registered) and want to have the same function for these switches on the J41. Also, is there a [2D] overhead panel (e.g. Shift+3 brings up the FMS 2D panel)? If so, what is the key command? I did look at the J41 …

guys,i have reinstalled my J41 as I experienced an awesome flicker in all quadrants of the screen, (no idea what causes this but it is totally frustrating having suddenly appeared and only on this acft). the version that I have is 10.1016.does this include sp1? I ask as the pmdg website under service updates does not show a SP1 and I assume that the version on the PMDG site includes the SP1.hopefully by reinstalling the model, I can eliminate that awful screen blankingthanksMel

I'm wondering why I never get the "Startlocks Removed!" call unless I'm using fs2crew. After start, I bring the power controls all the way back, one at a time and wait about 10-15 seconds...not a peep unless fs2crew announces it. In fs2crew I don't even pull them back that far and I get the announcement. If I'm not using fs2crew...nothing...ever. The aircraft flies fine but I'm always nervous before takeoff. Thanks, Gregg

Hello dear J41 users, according to this post http://forum.avsim.net/topic/282671-tutorial-lowering-vc-engine-sounds/page__pid__1840024#entry1840024 I like the lowered sounds. Now, I have unfortunately lost my lowered files. Creating new doesn't work and I do not know why that is so - tried everything. Does anyone of you have such lowered sounds files which where working in the JS41, please? If someone would lower them extra for me, I'm not sure, but I'd like -10 db and/or -15 db. Would please try both ... Would be very nice if someone could help me. Please PM me for my mailadress to send the files. many thanks!

I know it was said they would look into it for SP1. Since it was not included for whatever reason, is it still something you plan to include in the next SP? Will there be another SP?RegardsFRED

If anyone can assist, please. I had to un-instal the JS4100 from my machine where the OS is WIN 7 HP 64 bit as I was having issues with the fuel load facility, so I assumed perhaps some of the files had got currupted. Where if I changed the fuel quantity it would reset itself back to 100% for some un-known reason, most strange. I did run my MS Security Essentials & Malwarebytes anti-virus (up to date) on full scans just incase, but nothing was found just in case. I used via control panel programs & features to un-instal. All okay there. Before I installed I had to remove the Instal Shield files, because if I did not then the plane would not instal …

I would like to start off by saying that I have made a search on the forums for this problem and have returned no results. I am running Windows 7 64 on my newly upgraded rig and the main displays on my J41 are not showing. The engine gauges and everything else seems to be ok but as I am sure you are aware I am unable to fly this aircraft without these displays. I have attached two shots of the panel configuration and I would like to state this is the default PMDG flight.Any help very much appreciated.Rich

Hi everybody, I have a problem with the FMC of the J41: I am currently at BIBA in Iceland and apparently this airport is not within the database of the FMS. That was not a problem when I got here, since I just entered the coordinates into the fms and it led me right to the airport. But now upon starting the FMC up again it ask for my current position. Obviously I can't put BIBA an but I can't put any coordinates in either. Can't I put in custom coordinates to initialize the FMC? If I can how can I do it? Greetings Stefan

Hi Everyone I am new to JS-41 and LOVING it! Hectic learning curve (startup and engine managment etc as well as the FMS!) but a beaut of a plane. Well done. My question is that (im sure im not the only one ;-) managed to shut down my engines in-flight unintentionally. I cant seem to find any forum that covers startup in-flight. can anyone post some pointers? Many thanks in advance Rory

Would it be possible to add instruments magnifiers to allow big zooms on ADIs + HSIs + engines panel, just like the ones provided with the NGX that are of great help ? For those of us not owning Track IR, that would be great, cause those instruments, while depicted at their correct sizes I guess, are rather small.

Can I perform a manual start while on the ground instead of a normal one ? (manual start proc is described in the JS41 AOM Chapter 8.6 - Engines and Propellers Engine Controls and Indications - page 363 I tried many times to follow the steps indicated in Manual start "A rotary switch with four positions is installed. The switch permits a manual start of the engine if the auto start function of the IEC..." without any success. Back on the 10/5/09 I purchased the JS41... I have done allot of modifications on my computer since then and have lost the download files of the JS41 (So stupid not to put it onto disk). Now the download URL has expired. Will I have to re-download at a price or can I produce my order confirmation details on a support ticket and download free of charge?

hi, i have never had this problem up to now but when i select my aircraft (js4100) and click join session or fly now my fsx just crashes on me. does anyone know what the problem is and if so how to fix it thanx.

I'm at present doing the above with all of my PMDG aircraft on a new hdd and 64 bit Win7 Pro. I started with the JS41 but I'm getting a message that informs me that the re-activation count has reached maximum (incident # 1581-1643822). How can I resolve this problem? Thanks. Jon Shearer
