PMDG 737 NG (Legacy Version)

Hi all. I'd like to program a SID manually into the 737NG's FMC, so effectively making available any current SID, provided you have the chart. It seems that the FMC manual neither covers this specifically, nor has clues on how it might be done. For instance, without downloading new data, my NG has only one SID for Cairns, Australia (YBCS). Essentially, a SWIFT3, RWY 15 departure involves a steep left turn onto 030d at 400ft or by 2.6 DME CS, intercepting the CS 080 radial outbound, and on reaching 4,000ft turn right to SWIFT. Now, this doesn't sound hard, but I'm pretty thick, and can't see how I might use (say) a combination of Intercept Courses and user-defined waypoin…

Hi;I enjoy using 2D panels when flying (long story).Will the new 737NG have the ability to use 2 D panels or must you use the 3D virtual panels.I ask, as the only images/discussion/video I have seen to date using 3D virual panels.Thanks, Iain

I bought a new PC and re-installed all my PMDG products.Right now the -600/700 are fine and dandy BUTthe -800/900 will not fly properly - just after lift-off the speed tape turns into red bricks and the speedgoes down to stall and furtherI remember that I have read something about the correct sequence to install the 737I have a CD version of 800/900 ( also the download version ) and the download version of -600/700 with all updatesWhat is the correct sequence to re-install ?KH

Hi AllThe FCOM is not really specific about which lights to use and when.Stobe - FCOM says to turn these ON when entering the departure runway. Do you turn them OFF when vacating the runway after landing?Logo Light - I understand this should be on dusk to dawn... is it normal to leave it on the whole flight, or only below 10,000 feet?Wing Illumination Lights - not sure when these should be used or what they are for?Navigation Lights - are these only required dusk to dawn, or are they always on all day?Wheel Well - are these only for ground personel?Runway Turnoff - Are these only used for taxi, or would you have them ON for T/O & landing as well?KR's

Hello,I fly the 737 PMDG all series since years.And in the previous few days, i encountered a problem with the speedtape.Every flight that i fly, and often in climb phase, for example, i am at 290 kts climbing, and suddenly the speedtape on the 2 PFD descent and it indicated 45 kts (the minimum) with plenty of red rectangles (symbol when the aircraft is not flying the good speed range).Could you help me ? At 7000 ft on downwind to an ILS to KSMF, the PFD altimeter is at 7000. ATC commands descent to 3000. Autopilot descends to 3000 according to the backup altimeter but the PFD altimeter remains at 7000. Disabling autothrottle and autopilot will not budge it. Environment: Windows 7 64-bit, FS9 SP1, FSUIPC 3.99, PMDG 737 1.03, Radar Contact 4.03.

As a die hard simulator fan I'm disappointed not to hear more about the animations.How will the doors open? How will the night time cabin look? Will the trays on the back of the seats come down? Can you deploy the emergency slides? etc...Also, probably going to get shot for this seen as it's been discussed to death, is the release likely to be in the third or fourth quarter of 2011?Mac T

Hey guys,I understand the team increased performance with the NGX by %20... or was it %25? I can't remember.At the moment I have my systems maxed with REX, ORBX and the j41 when I'm cruising around Melbourne international... I'm averaging about 18fps haha I'm curious what sort of performance we could expect from the NGX.Would it be similar, better or worse than the j41?It'll be a good think to know so I can benchmark with the j41 to improve my frames.Regards, Craig.

Hi GuysIf you fly an approach in VNAV, does the aircraft automatially decelerate towards VREF or do you need to set it manually in the speed window?Also can someone explain at what point you would reduce to VREF and if the speed is reduced in steps?Kindest Regards

Ciao to all,I beg your help...I use FS9 with 737 PMDG....I had installed the weather radar "reality XP WX500" on the EICAS of the 737-700 PMDG...I used it for years...yesterday, as soon as I loaded FS I had an error msg telling that some a/c will not diplay correctly the guage.Infact now I get the gauge NOT in the EICAS of the PMDG 737-700 but apart...I tried to reinstall che "panel.cfg" file with the "XP reality Steps of integration" in the "panel VC" folder of the "aircraft" (737-700PMDG) without any success...Any idea?Please.....I miss the "NDWX.gau to FS9\Gauges" could this be the problem?this is what i tried to follow but without success:Steps of integration:--- I…

Perhaps someone can help me. When I enter London Heathrow (EGLL) in the FMC of my PMDG 737-800 I get an error message thus:EGLL ERROR: 05 RUNWAY UNKNOWN.It applies equally whether flying to or from EGLL. How do I put it right?M. K

I have recently purchased the boeing 737-800/900 series and I am being faced with one major problem. I can't get the autopilot to engage. I have run through the overhead panel startup, programmed the FMC, done everything that I could think of, but when I go to engage the autopilot, the two little lights don't light up, and none of the autopilots/autothrottles start to work. I would like to ask to PMDG if they have already contacts with flightsim labs for the drivers to make work Cpflight hardware (MCP, EFIS, COM, NAV and MIP annunciators) like they did for the fs9 version.I plan to build a home cockpit as soon as NGX comes to life using CP flight hardware, can we expect this cooperation between those parties?I asked the same question to flightsimlabs on their forum but I still didn't get any answer, Cp flight just answered "we think they will make a driver for it".What's the PMDG position?Many thanks

Has anyone any idea why after having a perfectly running 737-600,-700,-800,-900 installation,in FS9, and with the FS2Crew Voice Commander for the 737 also correctly installed, the moment I install an official 737-700 repaint(easyJet) from the PMDG site, which installs ok, and I then run FS9, select the 737 which also loads ok,as soon as I select the airport,I instantly get a CTD caused by 737ng_main.gau? This has happened on a previous official repaint install which then required a complete re-install of all 4 variants to rectify it. I'm hoping I can get a solution to this as it is so, so infuriating.

hi,i have a problem when descending on an ils path in autopilot. i approach the g/s, switch on the app-hold button in cmd-a mode. the ap engages and i descend along the g/s. at some point though for an unknown reason the app disengages and the plane levels off. i can't figure out how to manage a normal uninterupted ils approach. i did a series of ils approaches on the same airport just now. out of 4 attempts only 1 time did the ap lead the plane poperly, the other 3 times the ap lost the g/s and i had to land manually. i found a variety of old forum discussions but nothing helpful really. any help is appreciated.cheers

Hi, new to this forum and recently new to the PMDG B737-700 running on FS2004. Some times I get an odd message that says out loud "Don't Think" along with a few other more standard messages like "terrain" and "pull up" if I am flying manually and trying to squeak one in a short field or have a bad approach. Has anyone else encountered this? I am curious what it is doing there. Thanks.

Hi,I am reinstalling my PMDG 737NG aircraft after a hard drive crash. I installed the 600/700 aircraft and they are at version 1.3, and I installed the 800/900 aircraft. I just ran the 737_800_900_Service_Update_1 patch, which should bring the 737-800/900 series to version 1.1. However, after running the update, the aircraft.cfg still shows version 1.0. How can I tell if the 800/900 aircraft have actually been updated to version 1.1?Thanks,

I've searched but may have missed it but has anyone else had this problem? On almost every flight, once I get into cruise the speed tape will show all red bricks and the airspeed will be like 045. Then after a few seconds will recover and I will get a "overspeed disconnect" warning.
