I am enjoying learning to fly this excellent aircraft. Doing the EGLL to LSZH tutorial presents no problems with full autoland. I then tried EGLL to LPPT also with full autoland. I have tried the flight twice and on both ocassions the nav radio fails to tune into the ILS frequency at Lisbon. When I select the star for LPPT and specify the runway the ILS frequency is shown (109.10). What could ccause this to happen.Bob

Hi all,It looks like oil is dripping in the engine and therefore smoking is coming out the tail engine.I waited at the parking spot with engines on idel but it keeps coming.Any mechanic around to fix this ? :( This when I like the mD-11 most !

Me too I am somehow confused as to perform an autoland.I studied the Swiss LondonZurich tutorial and it states to go to flaps 15 before capturing the LOC,then uponGlideslope to deploy flaps 28,then gear and flaps 35.Nothing regarding the speedtape symbols are mentioned.In this Forum I read quite a bit about them.But still confused ! Hi all Very sorry if this has been discussed before. I have the FS9 MD11 and love it, but the VC is lacking a few features such as side window reflections. From what I can see on You Tube the FSX MD11 does have side window reflections and also more 3D cockpit window pillars. Can someone please verify that the FSX MD11 has an improved VC over the FS9 version, and what those visual improvements are. Thanks Niall

I read in the MD-11 Swiss London-Zurich tutorial : "Half way between Gipol andTRA/10 extend the slats/flaps to 15" which works fine to get an autoland as described. But I am never sure at what point to start extending the slats/flaps when I do anotherflight. Is there a rule or procedure as to when to extend them ? Is it a question of speedor anything else. I cannot imagine that one does it just by guessing. I appreciate your explanations and help. Hubert Werni

Hello,I follow step by step the 1st tutorial and when it comes to click the NAV and the AUTO FLIGHT button on the FCP, I get a NAV2 and a AP2 message on the FMA instead of NAV1 AP1. Why is this, am I missing something? i sit on the left side in the cockpit.

Hey guys, hope someone can help me.I´m having a problem with my Load Manager of the MD-11. Same with the Load Manager and Configuration Manager for the B747-400/LCF/8i.I attached a pic that you can see that my Load Manager isn´t displayed properly and I have no clue why it is like this. Ive noticed lately my MD11 is creeping very slowly at the gate. Parking brakes are set and throrrles at idle. Any suggestions.Alan

From what I read regarding this subject I was under the impression thatone only has to enter an apropiate STAR,RUNWAY and TRANSITION ( TRANS )into the MCDU.The route was then ready to be flown.Unfortunately this seems not to be the case unless I do somethong wrong sinceI am a 100 % newbie.An example of an intended flight from Lyon ( France ) to Geneva ( Switzerland )illustrates my "problem".I created a flightplan using FSBuild from Lyon to Geneva,runway 23. PMDG MD-11 folks: I've searched a bit and can't seem to find anything on this subject in the forums but my database is showing "NOT_VALID" under the A/C STATUS page. I can't load any waypoints, flight plan information, etc... I recently had an error in MSFS9 that forced me to reinstall the program. Fortuantely, I had MOST of my MSFS9 files backed up on an external hard drive so I just copied those files over once the reinstall was complete. Could this be the cause of the database error? If it is, would y'all know how I can fix it? I was just thinking I should reinstall the MD-11 all over again but it doesn't look like I'm allowed to download the .exe from PMDG to tr…

Hi I have a licensed DVD from Aerosoft which proved difficult to install onto my Win7 64bit system. The DVD just spun in the drive and refused to install to my 1TB HDD. Eventually I got it onto a 100GB SSD where it worked in the same PC system, but with no room for all the other things I use in FSX. Then I could not uninstall (same DVD problem as before). After many (>20) tries it uninstalled, but when I install it to my HDD there is no training flight. The MD-11 will load into FSX but engines are running with no panels lit, no PMDG in the drop-down menu and the yoke hard to port. Loading liveries is hit and miss; some do and some don't. Please have a look at the screen shot and I would appreciate if anybody could explain me : 1) What does this triangle after the waypoint Pinot mean ? 2) What is this arrow after the waypoint BELKA for ? 3) The magenta line goes from Pinot to Indis and then to Belka which seems to be right. I tried to make a video for a PMDG MD-11 flight.Is there a program to do so and avobeall to see the instrument panel with. ( PFD,ND etc ) So far I only achieved making a video without seeing the panels. Rolando Carmini

After going through the manual, in particular the portion covering assigning shortcuts through the PMDG drop down menu, and after having searched here as well as finding a very brief entry in the PMDG KB I am confused as to the capabilities to creating shortcuts for panels. I have seen entries in the Cockpit & Cabin Lights which appear to control panels; however, when I assign them an unused keyboard shortcut and return to the VC the keyboard command does not appear to work. So my question is, is it possible to assign and open some panels from the VC using self-assigned keyboard shortcuts? If so how?

Often I modify a flight plan in the MCDU of the MD-11 and I wonder if and how it ispossible to save that flight plan so that it is available at any time later on. Thanks Hubert Werni

Hello all. I bought yesterday the MD-11 for FS9, and when I run it on the sim I have Blue X's on all displays and FMS are dark. and the load manager doesn't work and lyveries won't show.what's wrong here? p.s.I am using windows 7

Hi everyone, i just installed the pmdg md11. There seems to be an issue where by the engine covers are missing. Everything else in the plane works fine. Hello all I hope someone can help me. It reguarding PMDG MD-11 for FS9. When I try to install the program the message I get is."FS9 Version 9.1.0. 40901 (FS 9.1 at least) Required you only have Version 9.0.0. 30612 instaled Please install FS 9.1 or later to use this product". I have installed verion 9.1 and it doesn't make any difference. I have other PMDG products running on my system without any problems Could someone please try to help. Thank You Pegasusair (Barry)

Hi there, I just payed for a (I thought) FS2004 version of the MD11,but ended up with a FSX version.This happened when I hit the FS2004 version tap on the buying page.It for some reason brought me to the FSX version never thought to check till it was to late.I have not downloaded the FSX version, so maybe possible to change the download link?The prize is the same.Please help me out here.

Hi, I've flown many long haul with MD11 cf6 pax without problem until this: Planning a Anchorage - Brisbane flight, I've encountered a fuel problem during the trip. After 6 hours, near the Japan coastlines, A 'CG out of range occurs'.Looking the fuel management I see the cause which is un unbalanced quantities between central tank and wings ones.So the system switch to manual. I must fill fill the central tank from others to recover the correct CG.When done, I turn system to AUTO and then the central tank refill the wings and the CG goes out of range again.Tail tanks are empty at this time.
