I think ILS autotune does not work, if a secondary flight plan is activated. Here a simple (and academic) scenario to reproduce the problem: Create a primary flight plan, go to secondary flight plan, click “copy active” and then activate the secondary flight plan. The AP perfectly follows the route, but does not autotune ILS. I know that this scenario is in fact useless, but it perfectly nails down the problem. You can try any variation in changing the secondary flight plan before activation, the ILS autotune problem remains. For my installation, the only way around is to reselect (the same) approach / ILS runway. I would be happy if you could try it with your MD-11 – or …

Hi,I've been searching for a while but never found info. On the status page (misc) i have that alarm "dfdr off". Is there a switch somewhere to turn it on or it turns on by itself when airborne. Hi there, I have a newbie question;When I fly the adv tutorial, after take off, when you have to vector 110, I cant get the plane to vector to that heading. There is a button above the heading selector; trk and hdg, what does it do?Also, after I apply 75% power and pressing the auto flight Im not always getting the t/o thrust message. I get the t/o clamp instead and the rest of the messages on the PFD get messed up i.e. I sometimes dont get the messages I suppose the get according to the tutorial.How can I make sure that I do the take off procedure right? What should I look for?I can do the easy tutorial, everything works there although I had problems with the t/o message…

Hi, I have noticed that when im flying the MD-11 my saitek throttle quadrant has no affect on the throttle in the aircraft. It works fine when im taking off etc but once in the air and with the autopilot of my throttle movements have no impact ??? Alan

I have a problem with my MD11 when going from NAV-mode (FMC based) to navigation based on the heading knob. This happens when I am in a STAR and I choose a heading with the knob to intercept the LOC closing in on the airport. I adjust the heading and right-click the knob to activate then every time the plane starts to roll sharp left (not in the chosen heading direction). It then makes a 360 degree turn until I disconnect the AP and I have to make the rest of the landing by hand. Is there something I have missed here, maybe disconnect NAV-mode before activating heading knob? Otherwise this is a splendid aircraft, the best I have so far and I know I will be flying this a l…

Gracefully PMDG has enclosed a SAS-livery with their MD-11. Unfortunately it is as old as h***.I wish for a new and updated scheme of the livery SAS utilizes today. Can anybody help me? It is suppose toexist one at AVSIM, but "the file you are looking for does not exist", due to the hack they had last year. Anybody has that paint, or are willing to make a brand new one? A few days ago i posted a problem i am having with my MD-11 with no response. However since this time i have been trying different things to see if i could find the trigger and i just found it.To recap, my problem is this. When the mouse pointer is hovering over a display like say the ND, the little magnifying glass with the + sign rapidly changes between magnifying glass and an arrow creating a kind of rapid flickering affect and when hovering over a nob and the pointer changes from arrow to little grabbing hand (not push), it does the same thing only between grab hand and arrow. Hi,Just got the MD11 and leaving the 747 in the desert for the moment but I have question about the tutorial 1. I have followed this to the letter on both occasions and everything stacks up as the tutorial mentions until I get to the top of descent stage. What is happening is a slow descent with quite a fast speed meaning I am way to high for the approach. I noticed on both attempts that the FMC showed an error saying cruise level to high for flight plan ( or something similar maybe not exact wording ) but in the plan and on the MCP 37,000 feet was selected as per the tutorial. As my first 570 GTX striked working i took the change to upgrade the driver, too. With my setup of NI (second picture) the new driver 275.33 64bit results graphic issues (first picture), triggered by switching between VC and 2D panels.First i thought the second 570 card is dying, but this driver seems to be the causer.Went back to 258.96 WHQL and everything is fine again.Maybe this helps anyone when having issues like this.

I built a new computer. I reinstalled FSX from the DVDs, reinstalled all my addons from their original installers.BUTI didn't want to go to the hassle of recreating my key maps and tweaks and everything else, that would take days, assuming I can even remember it all. So I copied the stuff in Users\dseagrav\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX (fsx.cfg and so on) from my other computer. That was all I copied, nothing else.Apparently, if you do this, most addons think you're a filthy pirate and disable themselves in strange ways designed to foil pirates.The MD-11 was installed from the original download and did its verification with the PMDG server, so I wasn't expecting anything …

Hello,I'm playing around with the MD-11 (FSX) and wonder how RCWS works. I enabled and disabled the option available under the menue, but hardly see a difference.From the documentation (Systems, page AUTO.10.5): With no force on the control wheel, the aircraft holds the current roll attitiude.Does it mean, that if I disable RCWS, the plane goes back into zero roll? Or does it symply not stabilize the bank angles and with this option turned off the pilot might have to correct manually?Thanks for your answers!Oliver

This weekend I flew the ILS Z 24R approach into LEPA. From the attached image you can see that it's required to be at 3000 for a good while. Instead of using the AIRAC data, I fed the MCDU by hand and defined two PBD waypoints for "16 DME MJV" and FAP, both with an altitude constraint of 3000 ft. FAP has an altitude constraint of 2700 and was in my flightplan as PBD waypoint as well. The FMS constructed TOD to be approximately where the red triangle is in the image. I don't understand why it's there, is it because of the required switching to the approach phase so that the FMS would slow the plane once flaps would be set?Everything worked okay regarding the landing, but I…

Hi guys,Can anyone tell me why when I fly at night I get no lights from the windows of the Fuselage? :( I get lights from the cockpit when switched on but never anything from the Fuselage when in external view. I have switched everything on on thel ighting panel and even tried pressign the L key on the keyboard but to no avail. It looks like a ghost plane from external view. I glanced through the thousands of manual pages without finding what the symbols on the speed tape mean.See attached screen shot.1) What does the yellow line indicate ? ( at the bottom and the top of the speed tape )2) What does the yellow SR ( at 210 knots ) tell me ?3) FR ( in green ) at 165 knots and F35 ( in green ) at 188 knots ? 4) On the PFD I notice a blue,horizontal line looking like a feather ? Hello guys I have a problem and was wondering if someone has a solution, when I start FSX and select the md-11 it initializes and everything is fine but when I try and select a different livery the plane shows up but the centergear is missing and when you change views and go inside the yoke is hard to the left and none of the gauges are there. I have searched high and low and cant find an anwser any suggestions?

i have a problem with the MD-11 nav display under win7 64 bit.it is not a big deal but it is somewhat annoying. i did not have that problem when i was on xp.the VOR symbols on the ND have a little tickmark on them. not constantly but it is flickering. i have circled an example. do you guys have that, too? does anyone know how to get rid of that?

Hi folks,After completing multiple tutorial flights successfully I decided to fly from Zurich to Palma de Majorca (LSZH to LEPA) usng my own flight plan. Everything went fine until I came into land. I usually disengage the auto pilot at around 1000ft AGL. I pressed the yellow button twice on the yoke as usual and hand flew the landing procedure. I didn't realise there was a problem until I tried to select reverse thrust, the throttle just appeared stuck at around 65%n1. I pulled back on my thrust lever but nothing happed at all. I ended up crashing at the end of the runway. Does anyone know what might have gone wrong? (I'm so annoyed with myself).

Hi everyone, new here!Flying a fictional flight SAEZ-SBGR with MD11, prepared the bird with 60000lbs of fuel.After all, got a TOCG of 31.3 and a ZFWCG 27,8. All inside the limits, though TOGW limiar.Well, took off greately, but soon, still during SID the ambar message CG OUT OF LIMIT appeared.There is fuel only in tanks 1, 2, 3.
