PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

hello allI tried to install the Alitalia Cargo livery (Old Colors), but does not work the airplane is all blackI have FSX and I downloaded the version for fsx

I have bought the MD-11 and absolutely love it.I have done the tutorial flight and it went great.So today i wanted to do a flight from EHAM to EDDF.I took off after making all the proper adjustments.10 minutes before descent i wanted to add the star and trans.But they are gone!!I am sure they were there before, because i have flown it before with the MD-11.Can anybody please help me???All the other stars still work. I have tesed several of them..Thanks in advance..Rob

I believe the Subject line should read "Undocked".I decided to dust off my MD-11, it's been 6 months since I last flew it, but ran into an issue I haven't seen in this aircraft before. When I load the MD-11, either from the "Create a Flight" menu or after loading the default FS9 Cessna flight, my MD-11 panel loads with undocked windows? I did an uninstall of the MD-11, made sure everything was truly gone, and reinstalled it...no difference. In the screen shot below I have moved the 3 "undocked" panels so you can see what all is happening.I also deleted the UI Generated Flight from the Panel States folder as I read another thread here from an FSX user with the same problem…

Captains,I decided to put my printed QRH to work and deal with smoke on board. The first actual thing to do is to turn the CABIN AIR Switch OFF. However, there is no cabin air switch on the AIR panel. But there is on the freighter. Would I just switch off two of the packs or just forget about turning the air off? Thanks for the help, guys.

Hey everyone,After a long hiatus I am trying to continue to learn how to fly the MD11.I've done the tutorial a couple of times and I think I understand the concepts pretty well but I have some issues when I try going off on my own, so to speak.First off I am flying using basic flight plans with no SIDs or STARs (can't find any way to create flights using them without some kind of payware program or just guessing over and over randomly choosing one from the FMS), and I am using default FSX ATC (yes I know how horribly unrealistic it is, but it's what I am using for now.)On the last flight I tried I did KATL to KCVG. Hi,I cant see the answer for my prob on this forum, so here goes. I have submitted a few tickets to PMDG but no response for 24hr so hope this helps. I've tried uninstalling and installing the MD-11 again but every time I select an MD-11 from my opening scene aircraft, it freezes then shuts FSX down. The PMDG panel in any other ac does the same thing so I guess it's the panel. Do I somehow have to make the MD-11 the opening sequence ac? If so how??Also, the ac don't have dynamic parts on the exterior (or the VC but I'm not so worried about that. Flaps, ailerons, lights etc, nothing responds to the usual key assiciations I have. (I have seen the VC because I put a freeware…

I have found the Go around switch on the 3D screen and that works fne. Where is the GA switch on the 2D panel. I must have clicked every screw head on the panel I can find but it still eludes me! I'm screwed out!Help please.

Greetings all,The other day I was attempting to land at KIND. I was fully established on the LOC/GS, flaps 35, final approach speed. At approx 2000' agl (can't recall the exact height) I disconnected the AP (using "Z") and tried to manually land. The plane didnt want to descend....it kept pitching up, and kind of floated. Any idea what I might have done wrong?

Hi,I have a little questions over the desent rates wich the MD 11 does in the simulation. Wehn a flight plan is used the MD 11 desents very smooth after T/D with about 1000 fpm or a little bit more. But when I fly for instance at FL190 with about 280 knots (ATS is set on 290 knots) and I dial in 15000 feet and pull the altitude selector the plane starts to desent between 3000 fpm and 4000 fpm. When the speed resches 290 knots the plane goes on a desent rate at 2000 fpm. (Still very step but okay.) My question is about the 3000-4000 fpm desent. I know the plane is slower than the choosen ATS speed but is it normal that it starts to desent with 3000 fpm? Best regards,Jonath…

Hi im Emil Nilsson! I have a problem with my most lovely MD 11 by PMDG! Sometimes when i fly exactelly after takeoff and i press NAV and it dosen't work and then i press heading and it dosen't respond! In the biggining on the ground it says "NO TAXI" on the Speed and ALT Screen, thats a sign that says it won't work in the air.. :( I have friends with the same problem and they dont know how to fix it! Hi there,I'm building a cockpit of the MD 11. I'm able to read and write many FS parameters, but I really can't imagin how to "push" the mcdu buttons.I tryed with SimConnect and there are no structure to do that. Via FSUIPC I got a chance to send keys, but in the PMDG configuration there is no a way to configure keys for MCDU.Any one can help ?Thanks in advance for your time.CiaoAngelo

Hi,I'm confused between these two and I would like to clarify the following points:1- What is the difference between pressing the 'Z' on the keyboard and pressing the AUTO FLIGHT button on the center glareshield?2- Is the 'Z' for all FMC SPEED, NAV & PROF? So pressing it wil enable/disable all the 3 systems together?3- If AFS was engaged and I pressed 'Z', what should happen? I suspect that the AFS OVRD OFF 1 & 2 switches be pressed down but that doesnt happen. And being so, which button/switch on the MD-11 cockpit gets animated when I press the 'Z'?Can someone clarify this please?Thanks :)Fouad

Hello,I have been using the MD-11 without issue for a few months now. After being thoroughly impressed with the product, I bought and installed the B744 product from PMDG. I am now finding that my PFD's in the MD-11 are all sporting green x's on them. From a cursory look through various forums, it appears that this may have something to do with a Runtime Visual C++ product...maybe the B744 product overwrote something during the install that has affected the MD11?Any assistance/instructions on repairing this would be appreciated.Tim BarberWindows 7 64 bit, Intel i7, Radeon 5800 series

On vectors to final, if given a clearance to "join the localizer" is it possible to arm just the LOC without arming the GS, or is flying the FMS overlay (DIR next fix on final, set the intercept course to the final appr course, and arm NAV) the only way to do it?

Hi guys,i have a big problem with the MD-11 cargo version, and the cockpit. in the screenshot you can see the some of the cockpits is not shown. in the normal MD11-version everything works without problems. Even though I have repaired the installation again. The panel also responded in 2d-mode is not correct. you have a solution to this problem?

Hi all,It's always struck me that radial lines drawn on the ND (as a result of having selected a freq/crs on the NAV RAD page) don't actually match up with the VOR bearing/radial selected.In the above image, course selected for the GQE VOR is 135, and the aircraft is tracking that radial. You can see that I'm a fair way off the dashed line. If you were to switch the ND to VOR mode at that point, you'd see a centered CDI. The aircraft is correcting a little to the left to maintain it, but it was bang on the radial at the time of taking that screenshot.Might it be that the line is drawn for a different magnetic variation than the VOR itself is calibrated for? Hi allI have the MD-11 for FSX and moved to a triple-widescreen display with nvidia surround and I am having a sticky problem.The plane loads fine, but whenever I try to open a panel the cursor flashes like crazy and I lose 10 FPS and the panel doesn't open. (I have selected widescreen panels in the plane manager BTW)This is a very common problem with this type of setup and I have fixed it many times over in other planes by adding windowsize=0.333, 1.000 in the panel cfg on several other airplanes(Level D, Captain Sim, etc...)I tried it with the MD-11 and I am not having any luck getting it to work. Also the MD-11 panel.cfg is very complex and a little daunting.Does Anyo…

I have the Mega Airport Lisbon X scenery installed, and everytime I try to load a SID or a STAR on the FMC of the MD11 I get a CTD I also have the AES active for Lisbon, but I don't believe that's part of the issue since I believe the same thing has happened before with the same airport, but I thought it was another issue. Also, on departure from CDG, again with the Aerosoft scenery, when I loaded up the STARS, not even the runways were available to select from. I'm going to try to upload AIRAC and see if it helps, but in the meanwhile, does anyone has any idea of what might be causing this? Sorry if it's a known issue, but a quick search revealed nothing.
