PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hello,I suddenly experienced this problem with the MD-11. Everything has worked fine previously, but now for some reason the runways displayed on the ND are always pointing to the true heading, meaning they are always some degrees off of the actual heading.I'm confused as to what could cause this problem. Any ideas/experience?

PMDG, I was wondering if the Co Routes in the MCDU can be deleted in order to start fresh, for example, if I were to go from EGLL-KBOS, and I had already done this and saved my route but this time I am using a different route, and attempt to save the route, it would be saved as egllkbos002, is there a way to delete these to start freash?Thanks,Spencer Hayes

I've tried searching and haven't come up with any answers, though, so I thought I'd tried here.I'm new to the MD-11 (relatively new to airliners, really, after a long time in GA). Trying Tutorial 1 in FSX. On engine start, all engines seem to give normal indications. However, in external view, I notice that Engine 3 is smoking badly. When I advance the throttles, Engines 1 and 2 generate thrust, but Engine 3 doesn't. The EPR gauge moves to show commanded thrust, but N1 and the rest don't change from idle. Hello again Avsim!Today I have been trying to make the wait shorter for the 737 NGX -soon to be the best fsx plane developed.So my question for you today is -Are there any visual updates for the MD11 in the cockpit where you have better textures/ or 3D ac nob above your head instead of the 2d one??? those little features matter to me:) I have the latest version of their MD11 but do let me know if there are any updates for this bird... oh and is there any way i could tweak it myself if there are no visual updates for it??? Looking on the Aerosoft website the boxed version of the MD-11 sells for $69.95 but yet the download version on the PMDG site is $79.95...WHYY! the difference. I would think if it is $69.95 on ASoft then the download here should be $59.95 since there is no technical tangible product.RehardsRandall Roberts

Hi,I just bought the MD-11X package and after a clean install and adding some liveries.When I try to load the MD-11 it doesnt work, FSX just freezes and i get a "fatal error".Any ideas?I've also removed the MD-11 via the control panel and cleaning the registry of errors but even after another sterile install it wont work....Help Please! EDIT: Ive tried to research a bit around the problem and F.Y.I. I do have the wilco 737.. lol

Hello All, This might seem to be a triviality but it is annoying. In the PMDG keyboard commands for MD11 the command for Stab Trim setting is uncommanded and I have inserted Control+C duplicated into FSUIPC and button 2 of the Yoke. On setting up a flight this command works but on subsequent flight settings it does not and in looking into the PMDG keyboard commands the Stab Trim box is empty thereby the control setting is not being constantly captured (for want of another expression), does anyone have a solution to this problem. Greetings all,I just completed an MD11 flight, and noticed something I had never seen before. After landing, I was at the gate looking around the cockpit. I noticed that the autobrakes knob was in full view. Normally, it's "hiding" behind the ground spoiler lever. I was wondering what happened to the spoiler lever (I thought it had disappeared), and finally saw it in the horizontal position, past the speed brake detents. In the training videos, I've always seen it upright, making it hard to turn the autobrake knob. Is it ever ok to leave the handle in the lower (horizontal) position, or should it be kept upright (vertical)?Many thanks

GuysI need your help. I recently bought the MD11, and she is a beautiful aircraft. But I'm having a crash problem in FSX in the beginning of each landing approach. I have looked here in the forum about it, and found several reports of the crash, but none looks like mine. I've W7, 64bit, FSX SP2, and only use the textures of Rex2 and UT2. I do my own flight plan in FSX, and I use the FSX ATC too. Everything goes well during the flight, perfectly executing the flight plan. However, and there is always a however, when starting approach for landing, the control asks me to leave the course and begin the descent. Hello,how can I make an intersection takeoff (I even don't know if that phraseology is correct) with the MD-11?Normally I enter and compute my whole trim and VSpeeds with TOPCAT which leads to a takeoff-run over the whole length of the runway.If I'd like to make now a shortened take off from an intersection (e.g 25/E or whatever) where can I enter the reduced runway length or the intersection where I enter the runway? How can this be done (if?) in the MD-11?many thanks,Günter

hi everyone. i've been flying the pmdg md 11 for a year now, and by far its my favourite plane. but since yesterday, ive started having this weird problem. when i turn on the taxi lights, the light shines very far from the plane, and a lil towards the right.. same goes for the landing lights.. i did not alter my aircfaft.cfg file, as i would guess, would contain information about this issue.. i havent tried reinstalling the plane yet. wanted to know if there's a fix.the only thing that ive done different is, shift from dx9 to dx10 then back to dx 9. it was working fine in the first two instances. the only new thing i've installed, is the wilco 777, which sholdnt cause a p…

Hi all,I have looked through the forums and have tried a few suggested fixes for this problem with no success and it is becoming very depressing Would someone please help?I just got the boxed version of the MD-11 today, installed it (as admin), started up FSX, then when i went to load the plane, I got some generic error about a "fatal error occuring" and FSX proceeds to restart. I have tried a few tips I read here including multiple installs, looking over my dll.xml in Notepad++, I have re-added the UIAutomationCore.dll to my FSX root directory, I have tried to load the plane from splash screen and by changing to the aircraft from another plane in game... NOTHING work…

Hello.I noticed the problem the wrong view of the VC MD-11. By default, the axis of sight projected onto the right of the Yoke and not at the center.I've been using Track-ir and Ezdok software, but until then I noticed the deviation sight. Please help, because it is not very convenient especially for landing. Red line incorrect( default).Yellow - correct. Hi there!I have a problem with the lights from my MD-11.When I turn on taxi lights and want to taxi at night, I just get an illuminated area far in front of the plane and not near the plane. When I see pictures from people using the lights they all have very bright front lights and can see the area right in front of the plane...but I can´t.Any suggestions?

Hello,I have a question and I do apologize if it was asked before or as I think it's sillyUpon arrival and while slowing the plane down from 280K to 245K I get on the MFD, at the air speed Info, to the left green marks mentioning SE, F15, F28, F35 as I slow the plane down with a GW of 420,000LPS, those speeds usually are 275K, 240K, 220K (at a calm weather, maybe not 100% accurate), however by checking the MCDU, TO APP pages I get much lower speeds shown as a minimums of 200K Clean, 166K SE, 159 F15, 154F28 MIN, I am sure that the TO APP page refer to min. speeds that the plan would stall if the flaps setting is not applied and I should follow the speeds on the MFD, is t…

I have a decent understanding of the FMC but I always screw up the STAR.I click on the last waypoint and hit the STAR line select key. Then what is the best way to go from here exactly. I usually select my STAR and Runway but something seems to go wrong every time I do it.I am going from PHNL to RJTT. Seems that the STARs are different on their charts then are on flight sim.

I took the MD out of the virtual hangar this weekend and flew a flight which resulted in a missed approach and a hold. I wanted to retry the approach, but I kept getting a "no destination" dialogue. Is there a short cut to trick the the CDU into knowing what my destination is when I've flown to the end of the route including the missed approach? I eventually got it to work, but it didn't seem very intuitive.

Hi alli hope some can help me.. I did just buy PMDG MD 11, i have it installed is really a great plain .BUT. i got some problems wit the Yoke of the plain. it doesnt move . even when AP. i thought maybe is hydraulics. but cant find nothing in the manual. i thought maybe i do again the installation . but no doesnt work.i hope some one can help me, is not fun if you cant move the Yoke. you dont know if you go down or up.
