Hi!I have one little problem with my MD-11 and that is a very annoying one. Whenever I switch tasks or even just want to save a flight and return to the simulation, I get weird graphical errors like the cockpit dissapearing or parts of the world not showing, the sky being black and finally just a black screen with white flashes.This happens whenever I switch screens, so when I want to load or switch tasks in windows.Is that happening to other folks out here or is it just me?System:Amd Dualcore 64X2 5000+4gb RamATI Radeon HD 4670 512mbWin7 32bitFSX with Acceleration

Hi there!I just purchased and installed the PMDG MD11 for FSX and when I go and select the plane from the list, FSX crashes and needs to restart.I don´t get any error messages, just the message that an exceptional error has occured and Flight Simulator needs to restart.Please help!

Dear Sirs.Although, I used to repaint quite a lot, neither my PC Windows 7 System nor my studies can provide me with a chance to paint for some time well into the future. Firstly, my PC doesn´t allow CS2 to be installed under Win7 and secondly, my daily utilization due to my studies is too high, than to provide me with enough free time. Morning First and foremost, to the PMDG team, you have landed a customer for life. I only have the MD11, but will definitely be getting the NGX and whatever follows. I have a few other products, all of which are great, but all fall short of this simulation. Again, a job well done.I was watching NOVA last night on AF 447 and the scenarios the crew faced on that night of hell. I was also reading on the other A330 incidents with the pitots and such and it got me thinking - I would like to simulate this scenario and others. Recently added PMDG MD-11 to my FSX experience and like the plane very much.....Taking awhile to get used to it....I fly in VC mode mostly and notice that plane shakes (pitches and rolls) alot while in flight. I am guessing that this is the design to simulate the real flight experience... It does, however, make changing altitudes or speeds manually quite difficult.....Usually have to pause FS to accomplish the task...Is this normal display activity for this great plane or am I missing something???:Thinking:I also notice some FSX CTD errors while in flight.. Hi everyone,i have a big problem after reinstalling the MD-11. Sorry my english isn't the best but i try to expain it to you.Last week my FS9 and the MD-11 worked 100% normal. This may be a silly question - but I'll ask it anyway...If I have set T.O. flaps to 22 (via dial-a-flap), I will start retracting them after the PFD shows me passing the 'FR' mark, right? (I hope so!). But choosing to retract flaps at that point does not reduce the flaps to 15 degs, as I would have thought, but retracts them fully. Is that what is supposed to happen? (I then retract slats after passing the PFD 'SR' indicator).Is this correct? I am just a bit mystified as to why flaps don't go from 22degs to 15degs before they retract fully, but perhaps that's how it is meant to be?Thanks,Martin

Hi Guys,I noticed yesterday that the MD-11 is not following the Magenta line of the route but this seems to be a new problem as when I used it several months ago it worked and followed the route perfectly fine? Any ideas of what this could be and how to rectify it? I was using ASE and Vatsim and I am using Flight Sim 2004. I have enclosed some pics which I hope are helpful. Dear Sir When I want to dump fuel from the MD11 I push the dump fuel valve on the upper panel but nothing hapens the fuel remains the same. Is there any other buton to push? I check in the manual but the only one I saw was the one that I pushed. Can you help me? Thank you My name is Carlos

The FMS manual talks about an ILS approach and autoland, but does not mention an RNAV approach. Is an RNAV approach the same procedure as an ILS approach and does autoland work the same? In other words when I choose a star and choose RNAV25L is the landing procedure the same as if I had choosen ILS25L?What is the difference between RNAV and ILS?Regards,Rod Storer

Hello everyone. i have a question about fs build and the pmdg planes. When i make a fp (with autogenerate) it makes the plan and i can export it to pmdg that is no problem.But i was wondering why i can't fly the same way as in the tutorial.I really want to learn how to fly with the FMC and in the tutorial flight it al worked great, but with the plans build in fsbuild it doesn't work the way it was in the tutorial. Maybe you could have a look at the tutorial i mean on page 8/9 (there you see what i mean and what i want, EGLL is first in the fp and not a runway) and on page 26. as you see there is no line (saying F-PL-DISCONTINUITY)coming after everything is put in the fmc.…

Hi all I am new user of PMDG MD 11 and altthough heaving studied carefully the manual - principally the FMS page I still did not succed yet in resolving the following problems1. When entering into the MCDU the flight plan and then going to SID and STAR Isucced in getting these inserted but I always sget then a " Route discontinuity " to the next waypoint after the last fix of the SID same happens with STAR after inserted.2. I tried to solve the problem by using the DIR INTC knob but even this does not work even when using the TRK3. I insert as FL 340 the MCDU gives me i.e. LV 395 instead as TC and simoultaneously the emssage FL exceed max FL 4. How can I control Speed…

Been using the MD-11 for T&Gs at the (LatinVFR) MHTG Toncontin (great fun if not a little unrealistic).Just did something I haven't done before and, no doubt, extremely bad practice, BUT....My last approach was pretty bloody ugly and I went for a last second go-around in an incorrect an aggressive way... Hey folks,I'm new to the MD11 (FS9) and have just completed my first full flight after spending some time reading the manuals/tutorial, had a great sense of satisfaction at the end of my flight, although the landing left some of my teeth on the cockpit floor :( will need further circuit training for sure.I was using Radar Contact for the trip and was told to pass 40 DME prior to a VOR at FL150, I missed it and got a thick ear from the controller :( can someone explain how to enterthis restriction into my FMS.thanks and regards,Steve

Hello, a quick question, when flying at altitude level flight, a wind shift happens (slowly due to fsucip, sorry about the spelling) and sometimes the aircraft will not speed up until it drops to the red on the speed strip but then it starts to speed up again back to .85 mach. I find this a wierd behavior and don't know why it does it or how to prevent it. Any help would be great, thanksRyan Gann

Hi, I know this might be trivial, but I have flown numerous flights with the MD11 and recorded in video the landings. Today I did the usual but the angle was slightly different visually but on playback I noticed for the first time the reverse thrust deployed in the tail engine. You might say so what, but I bet most simmers attention is usually taken to the front of the aircraft and seeing the reversers deploy in the main engines, come on be honest and admit it, so next time watch the tail engine as well, it adds another dimension visually. richard welsh.

I have never once heard the stabilizer motion annunciation in the PMDG MD-11. I should be hearing this when the stabilizer is in motion in excess of 1° at a time. Is this a glitch or am I not understanding something?-Shane O

When I start my flight with cold&dark, my doors open automatically. I close them with the fmc, but one door remains open, whatever button I press. On the outside I cannot see the open door. The fmc indicates that all doors are closed. I can fly normally, but this messages irritates me a lot.So, what's up with the door?Thanx,

I am trying to install the MD11 FS9 Combo pack without much success. I have tried to install it two ways. First just clicking on the exe within the Total Commander but had a disability message. See attached screen shot. Then I tried to open the file in a Temporary file, then clicked on the exe again. Unfortunately, the results were again the same. It keeps referening back to the FS9.Could someone throw some light on this for me please?Best regards.

Hi everyone,I have just completed (sort of...) one of the most interesting simulated flights of my life! I was flying from Taipei to Anchorage using last weeks real world weather (I was going to do it last Sunday-flying EVA606) but just off the East coast of Russia, approaching the Bering Strait, I noticed the temperature had fallen from around -35C to -62C! This was clearly a rather sudden drop in temperature, because my fuel, at this point was at a perfectly reasonable temperature of -36C, but not being stupid, I knew this was going to fall.
