PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi everybodyI 'm looking for help regarding a repaint of the wonderful pmdg md-11. Unfortunately I'm completely lost when it comes to making repaints.The repaint I'm searching for is Air OPS of Sweden (air operations of sweden who flew the L-1011 Tristar model) pics are available at air liners . net search fo Air OPSI got photoshop elements and I am able to get the paint on the fuselage but then converting them to whatever format it is to be used in the sim is a mystery for me. To be homest it looks like crap. blurry and misaligned.Anyone willing to help me or are there any expert willing to make the repaint I would be overjoyed!best regardsMikael Johansson

Have a graphic glitch I need to figure out. This happened on a flight from KLGA to KMSY at FL360. Cycling through views, and when I came back to the VC I see this. Howdy All Well, the MD-11 manual covering the FMS says that *.PLN format (MSFS) flight plans can be loaded and used by the FMC. And as Murphy would have it, I cannot get even one to pick up and load. I have read and re-read the manual several times.If they do work, as the manual says, I have several questions:1. All FPs made by the Flight Planner in FSX end up in the FSX document folder under the user. Ok. This is where I have been working from.2. The manual does not say what SPECIFIC format the name of the MS-generated FP must be in, only that a match must occur during the search.3. What must the format of the *.PLN name be in??4. Hello,I am having issues with the MD-11 when both AFS-OVRD switches on the glareshield are on. One of these issues is that the elevators lock sometimes, while on descent to my destination. they lock in the fully up or down position, and the only way to move the elevators is to apply full forward or backward pressure on the controls, and even then it continues. I have had to disable both AFS-OVRD switches to stop this. Is there any solution available, or should I consider AOA's MD-11 training?

Hi,I am just starting to flight the MD-11 and once more you have done a terrific job with this plan. I am an old advocate of your 747 and I am very amazed to see all the details that was put in the MD-11, wonder full airliner. I am, like a lot of simmer, patiently waiting for the 737 NGX release. I use a multi monitor setup and I like flying with both VC and 2D views (together), for the 747 I put the VC view on my triplehead2go setup and I use the instrument panel option to display the dashboard on two separate screens. For the instrument I do not use a FSX view, such as cockpit view, so no fsx view is active on top of the instrument panel (see attach picture). I notice…

For some reason, when I load any passenger model, I end up with a VC view that is way off where it should be. I have tried hitting the spacebar to get the view to default, but it does not work. I cannot move my view in FSX either.... (see pic below for an example)My Freighters work as they should, it is only the passenger models that give me problems. Can someone help me with this?

Greetings all,I've just recently been having issues with the MCDU, where the characters appear to be broken, for lack of a better description. This has only recently started happening. The MCDU is fine in the VC, until I click on it (to "remove" it and bring it to the middle of the screen). I have Windows 7 (64bit), along with FSX. Except for buying and installing TOPCAT last week, nothing else has changed as far as I know. Any idea what might be going on?Many thanks

Recently, without any changes, the autopilot on the MD-11 deviates from the route to the right(as indicated by the ND), up to around 2nm. It cannot track a localizer either. I'm not sure what could have caused this, and I've tried reinstalling. Any ideas?I think it might be improperly correcting for wind

Dear PMDG,Usually, when I fly in FSX, it's on multiplayer since I prefer to fly with others. I usually join the FSMP( www.fs-mp.com) session, which is as close to the real world as it gets in FSX(To me at least). However, my question can be linked to any other FSX session. Before your decent, lets say that you stated in your flightplan that you were going to be inbound via avalible STAR appointed by ATC, and the approach doesnt know what a star is. Or, you get premission to approach via a star, and, since they have no idea what it is, insist that you follow there precise heading and altitude, what do you do? Greetings all,I am having problems modifying and saving an MD11F panel state. I loaded the MD11F "short turn" scenario, and am trying to change it to having the external power and external air on, with the APU off. After getting the aircraft to the desired status (MCDU menu/External power and air connected....turn on EXT PWR on the overhead....turn off APU, then wait a minute for shutdown, etc), I am trying to save the scenario into the existing "short turn" panel state. However, the next time I load that same scenario, it's back to the old state (APU on, external power off, etc). I then tried saving it as a new scenario, but the response is "cannot save file". Hi!I am having a strange issue with my MD-11 in FSX.The plane is producing overspeed warnings at random intervalls as the speed suddenly jumps from one speed to another and now on my flight from KEWR to KLAX the altitude jumps a few hundred feet. I am using REX 2 for my weather and a few addons for airports and scenery.

Hi there!Does anyone here have good settings for the shockwave lights for the MD-11?I am asking because the ones I use aren´t that good, I can see the blinking of the strobe or beacon light in the VC for example and that is very annoying.So if anyone has good settings for the plane....I would be very grateful if those were posted here.Thank you!

I am having a problem with autoflight disconnecting when I increase or decrease the airspeed.Here's how i'm setup:I have two joystick buttons setup thru FSUIPC to send two distinct key presses to FSX. The same keypresses are entered thru the PMDG addon control menu for Airspeed bug increase and decrease.If I press either button while in flight the autoflight disconnects. If instead I just enter the same key sequence on the keyboard the speed changes and the autoflight does not disconnect.Can someone shed somelight on why this would happen?Thanks Ken

So I was doing a FedEx run from my new SPIM scenery to my new KSFO scenery (REX uninstalled because my system is a bit on the (old) slow side. Cruising at FL350, and then started my decent, nothing exciting here with this baby until, at FL3250 or so, the plane started doing loops.:Silly:You read it right folks, loops, and boy were they a site to look at. Hello. Starting the md11 from cold and dark, to weight initializing in the fmc, does the pilot entered tocg entered before engine start ever change? If say there was a longer than expected taxi time and more fuel is burned , will the stab/cg change on the to/apr page to reflect the burnt fuel, or only based on the pilot estimated from initialization? Hi,I have a strange problem. Noticed it a couple of days ago when I wanted to do a flight with my PMDG MD11 (FS2004). flight preparation went well and take-off too. But then shortly after take-off she starts banking to the left and flying 360's. This even happens with autoflight on. Anyone outhere with an idea what is causing this problem and how to cure it? Maybe it is not a pure PMDG MD11 problem. I also have the ifly 737, when i load this bird then the horn is to the left. When load her again then everything is fine. Strange. I remember reading sometime ago that Boeing has officially partnered with PMDG. I was wondering if this means we might see an upgrade to the MD-11 in terms of updated performance data?

Due to some reason (I got green crosses in my MD11 displays) I have removed the MD11 in FS9.Now I start to install the MD11 PMDG again in FS9 and I get the following message:"Installation can not continue. Your registry does not show a valid FS9 installation location."Normally my FS9 with all other planes (also PMDG) works perfect.Is there a solution for it?

Getting an aural config warning through the take off roll. Have flaps set, spoiler armed and stab trim in the green band. I don't fully understand the flap pre-set (which I believe provides finer incremental flap setting? Run it round to say Flap 22 but the flaps deploy to 24?). FMC all set, with V speeds in, flight programme set with SID. So, what am I missing ? Help appreciated.Cheers

I am sure that I am just not looking in the right place, but I can not find the answer in any of the manuals.In the second FSX tutorial (KORD to KJFK) on Page 35 it says to set the BARO to 800ft ASL on the PFD or if you want to set a decision height instead use 787ft AGL.Now the questions:What is ASL and how do you know to use 800ft?What is AGL and how do you know to use 787ft?Rod Storer

I've trolled through the forum and found nothing covering this.When my mate and I fly our PMDG MD11's together, he sees me basically as a hovercraft and I see him the same. No gear down so the aircraft looks like it's hovering along the taxiway. Makes for crappy screenshots. Does anyone else experience this when seeing other PMDG MD11's in multiplayer and if so is there a way to fix it?
