PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi all:I cant fly with my desire aircraft livery. UPSI have checked all files: just find an Ivao thumbnail inside the Sim Objects, Ivao MTL, Ivao MD-11, texture. UPS.I dont know how I could put this livery permanently as Actual Aircraft for my flights.I use Microsoft FSX, PMDG MD-11X, together with W7 64.Highly appreciate any help on it.Sincerely,Safaba.

Can anyone explain to me what settings I have to engage in the FMC to enable a full autoland? everytime I get about 100 feet above the runway the autopilot cuts out.

Been flying the MD11 for a while now, not had any problems until now.Set everything up, flying in the cruise and started to mess with some of the autopilot. Problem number 1After this, whatever i ended up clicking (may not necessarily have been on the FCP) it has frozen the button clicks, and i get the message 'BUTTON PUSH IGNORED' appear in the scratchpad on the CDU. I can't clear this, or indeed do anything else as all button poushes are well, ignored. The buttons move, but nothing happens. Anyone had htis? or know how to undo whatever it was I have done?Thanks in advance.

Hi PMDG folks, I ´m posting this for a freind of mine who had posted this in the german language forum, but I think here will be a better chance to get this fixed. So here is the problem: Some time ago he bought the MD-11 as boxed version, but as the time went on he didn´t want fo fly her any more, so he deinstalled and sold it to a friend who installed it an now nothing is working. He gave me these two pic´s to show what he´s meanig. The 2D cockpit in entirely grey and the 3D has no avionics.The spec´s of the friend´s system: Windows 7 home premium 64 bit with 4GB RAMHe told me that he had FSX inside of the programme files (x86) folder and it worked like it should, so th…

Hey there,I have a question. When executing a so-called Low Speed Abort Take-off procedure under 80 kts. the throttle setting to idle does notoverride the Autothrottle. Over 80kts. I am able to engage the brakes and throttle lever effectively, but that does not comply withthis procedure. With a rejected takeoff, upon closing the throttles is this the command that then kicks in the the breaking system with RTO setting? (with RTO selected prior to departure.Hope this makes sense. What im asking is how/when does RTO initiate/command?

I downloaded the MD-11 livery from the PMDG site and can't seem to find it in my computer. I thought it would be located in Program Files\ Microsoft Games\ PMDG\ Aircraft but it isn't there. Can anybody shed some light on this for me?jen noulet

Hello everyone,I would like to use the PMDG MD-11F paintkit in Photoshop for FS9. Whenever I try to open the PMDGMD-11F_Fuse_Right [or _Left].psd, photoshop announces that it detects unknown data in the "Night Windows" layer which are to be discarded. It then tells me that some layer sets were damaged and have been repaired.The left fuselage looks rather normal but has only three layers: Master Textures, Base and Layer 1.The right fuseslage is completly black with only the windows visible.Is it my problem? Hi everyone,As of late, I have been flying the MD-11 allot more, and although I have always made heavy use of Nav Aids in conjunction with my FMC flight plan; I have noticed a feature present in Boeings to apparently not be available in the MD-11. This is the operation of the FMC's fix page; on a boeing, once the fix is entered, you can enter a distance and it will place a green veil around the point, however, in the MD-11 I cannot see how to do this, only how to enter radials to the waypoint.. I do know how to enter PBD waypoints, and I know this is one method of performing approaches such as DME arcs, but for step down approaches like the famous River 19 visual, the ban…

Hi,I have a question....I've been flying the MD11 in FS9 since it's realease.I've just changed my PC and now using window 7 (64Bit).All the time I've flown this bird I've never had a problem until now. Everything works like a dream until I try and enter a flight plan, either by a saved flight or creating a new one.As soon as I put the co route or the origin/ dest. FS freezes but doesn't crash.:( Just out of curiosity I started to enter a new route from LSZH - LFPG and as usual it's frozen without being accepted.:( I've left it now for over 7 hours and still it's not accepted the inputs. I'm trying to take off from Princess Juliana Intl (TNCM)to make a return journey to Amsterdam Schipol but don't manage to lift off the runway before crashing into the sea. I'm using a KLM MD11 real world air route so assume that take off is possible. I know the runway is only 7153 feet long but I've even tried 1/3rd passengers and no extra cargo on the Load Manager. I'm using 109,000kg fuel. The route distance is about 4650 miles.Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?ThanksBernard Walford

What is the procedure in FSX after choosing a star approach to a particular runway and can you cofirm it in advance with ATC. Another words,if a particular star approach was chosen and ATC was contacted within 30 miles according to FSX parameters, and a runway other than the star was designated by ATC, what now? Is it possible to contact the destination airport any sooner than the 30 mile radius? Tnx, Skip Ciman

I have recently begun having a problem with my MD-11...Whenever I extend the slats, the inboard slat panel (the one between the fuselage and engine nacelle) extends, but drifts out toward the wingip. It doesn't drift very far, but to does go out so that the outer edge is dead even with the centerline of the engine. The whole panel shifts, so that the inner edge is no longer even with the fuselage. This happens to the inboard slat panel on both sides of the aircraft. I don't think it used to do this, although I honestly just don't remember ever noticing it. I don't think it is supposed to do this. G'day to everyone from Aus!Really enjoying the MD-11, especially with the extra training from Angle of Attack!My question is, when in the cockpit, I constantly here a sound like a vaccum cleaner, if i turn down the PMDG sound via the PMDG menu it is reduced to an acceptable level, however I lose things like the copilot call outs.I have the TSS sound add-on for the MD-11 which sounds unreal so a bit of a bummer to have it drowned out by this Vaccum.It seems this sound I'm hearing is just part of the sim so I'm sure you can all hear it too.......but does anyone know if it can be turned off or down without loosing the other sounds?Last of all....I am very happy with this sim…

Hi allI am re installing my MD11 after changing a hard drive, I have installed the original package, then installed the update to ver 1.2, without installing 1.1 first. will ver 1.2 have all the corrections of 1.1 as well or should I uninstall and start again?thanks for any help in advanceJohn Calleja

Hallo zusammen,ich habe mir vor längerer Zeit die PMDG MD-11 zugelegt (Box-Version). Da ich sie mit der Zeit nun nicht mehr fliegen wollte, habe ich sie meinem Freund verkauft, sie vorher via Systemsteuerung deinstalliert. Mein Freund hat die MD-11 jetzt bei sich installiert, jedoch sind die Anzeigen komplett schwarz, das Horn lässt sich nicht bewegen (3D Cockpit), das 2D Cockpit ist einfach komplett grau. Man sieht schon das Cockpit, aber es ist einfach alles grau. Mir wurde schon gesagt, dass es vermutlich etwas mit dem Kopierschutz zu tun hat. Mehr weiß ich aber auch nicht. Since I have occurrences where I hit PROF and nothing happens either on the FMA or the FD/autopilot, I try to understand the reasons for that phenomenon.What are the requirements so that PROF can enter the engaged state (i.e. dependance from lateral path, spacial distance from calculated vertical profile,...)?

Hello,I have tried to make a livery for the PMDG MD-11 with the Paint-kit, but the textures seem to stay with PMDG colours applied. Is there any way to make the paint-kit white? I use GIMP, and I also cannot create markings on GIMP. I can select the tools, but I cannot draw or write on the fuselage. Is there any solution for these problems?

I am having serious show-stopping problems with my MD-11.When I am flying an ILS approach with the autopilot engaged, it causes first my computer to lock-up the sim, in which case I start to get the Windows Vista swirling circle right in the center of the screen, as if the computer is "thinking." Then the sim crashes.This happens each and every time I am flying an autopilot approach, and it always occurs between 500-1500ft AGL. I must find a fix to this issue. Hello folks,I've been happily using the MD11 in both fs9 and fsX generating flight plans with FSC 8.6 from day one (quite a few months now). All of a sudden when I enter a plan name (even ones that worked before yesterday when this problem started and INCLUDING the first tutorial!) I get "UNABLE TO LOAD FPLAN" in the MCDU's bottom which I clear and re-check my plan to be correct in name. After several tries with some 10 or so plans (this is where I again tried the first tutorial flight), I shut my computer down last night in frustration and tried again just this morning and it's still doing it with every saved plan I have in the PMDG flight plans folder. Hey Guys,I've searched this forum and I've been unable to find what I was looking for so I thought I'd ask. Please forgive me if this has been asked before.I'm a devout user of Radar Contact. Normally the require you to be about 40 miles from the airport at 11000 ft or so at about 250 kts.Previously I flew the 747 and on the fix page, I could put the airport in as a fix to see that 40 mile range ring. I could then put an in trail waypoint just outside that range ring and specify my altitude and speed crossing restrictions.
