    Hello fellowsimmers,Newbie to the MD11 since I come from Boeing world. Until now I have not been able to find where to enter general constraints for planning descents in the FMC. What I mean is that the default constraint is I think 250 at or below FL100. Let's take for example Spain where most of the time the charts indicate a general constraint of 250 under FL120. How to programm the MD11 FMC to adhere with this constraint ?

    Just wondering with any real airline pilots out there that fly Cat 3 certified stuff. What are the minimum requirements at the destination before one must file an alternate. What are the minimum weather conditions required at that alternate. Tomorow I am flying from San Fransisco to Zurich and it looks like I will have to be shooting the Cat 2 there upon my arrival. I have spent much time looking for a suitable alternate and it looks like the whole of Europe seems to be plagued by radiation fog. I fly part 135 for real in a Cessna 421 an am of course a cat 1 airplane and pilot so I know your Opspec is probably totally different than mine in this regard.Thanks

    After executing a go around the aircraft climbs to a holding pattern and circles around.So far so good.But how can I program the MCDU to return to the airport using the LOC/GS as on thefirst approach.As it is the MCDU let me not doing anything. Hoihoi..Inflight, check the weather at destinatiion and wind changed, so i have to change my approach figures like the STAR and the runway. so if i go in the FLTPLN Init page to select a new runway the FS freezes at this point and i have to restart FS. that also happend when i select a SID @ LFPG, so i build the complete flightplan over FSBuild and send it to PMDG, load it in the FMC and then it works, thats really strange cause it only occurs @ LFPG nowhere else and like posted before the issue of inflight runway changes. but this also didnt occurs every time, sometimes it works perfectly dont know why. many thanks in advance.

    hi guys, i am having some trouble with my saitek yoke/throttle quadrant setup and the interaction between that my pay ware aircraft (using fsuipc, registered version.) i am using windows 7 and FS9.i have the following aircraft - feel there/wilco crj, qualitywings 757, PMDG 737, PMDG 747, PMDG MD-11. i notice on the crj, 757, 737 and all the freeware/default aircraft, the settings that i have used with FSUIPC are correct and i have no problems. with the 747, the buttons on the quadrant that i have assigned for the taxi lights, landing lights, and beacon lights will not work correctly. and with the md 11 (which i just bought and have not tried to fly yet), the landing gear …

    I noticed in the systems manual (which I almost have memorized) there is an option for 2 extra aux tanks at around 13.0 each. Adding all the quantities plus the options equals around 281.0 but the load manager can only fill to 256.2. No big deal really, I don't see an option for the extra tanks anywhere. It would be nice to reach Dubai from KSFO but I will take Zurich instead as a fuel stop.I probably could not stay awake long enough to burn that much fuel anyway.

    Hello,First off I need to say that every time I decide to try out another company I am always sorely disappointing with the exception of LDS767. I have put about 100 hours on the new NGX and it makes all other aircraft almost un fly able to me with my now picky taste. I tried the CS767 and am having issues I would not have with PMDG and regret it now. The NGX is perfect in every way, not even the throttles and yokes jerk around when on autopilot/auto throttle.I am seriously considering buying the MD11. I am a long time flyer of the Queen in FS9 and FSX and one thing I noticed in watching the you tube videos is that the MD11 seems to have the same issue with jerking thrott…

    Hi guys,I have a problem with my PMDG MD11 as it shows a graphical error after almost every flight (see attached screenshot). Sometimes the whole fuselage is missing. I also noticed that framerates drop from 50+ to about 18 once I switch out of the 2d view and back again (the framrates go back up to 50+ once I resize the window (in window mode). I have the Highmemfix=1 installed as well as the UIAutomation Centre. I am running Win7 64bit on a Nividia GTX480 GPU and a i7 processor with 12GB RAM.Any help would be appreciatedThomas

    I seem to be having weird sound issues with other aircraft like the PMDG 747 and NGX that are generally resolvable with cycling the sound in FS but in the MD11 when I turn on the APU and press the APU air button should I hear the sound of the AC packs running in this airplane? There is no sound which may be normal.

    Setting up CandD door is open. Fine. But I cannot close it with the CDU. It gives me the option to close it but when I hit the LSK it changes to OPEN like it should but the door stays open. I assigned it a key and it wont close with that either. I knew I would not get into this new airplane scott free. Great by the way, just need to get the door shut.

    I installed my md11 on my new computer today, I had the pmdg md11 on my old pc for a few months with no issues. The install of the plane went very smooth, as did the install process of the liveries; however when I fired up fsx the liveries I installed were not there. I made sure that I was running fsx in admin mode, but still no liveries. Does anyone have some thoughts or suggestions on how to get the liveries to install properly.

I have the impression that the FMC database is too small to accommodate all the AIRAC. i use AIRAC 1110.     Hello, now that I've got my new rig up and running (loving the NGX) I've finally gotten around to getting the MD-11 for myself. (I flew it a bunch on a friend's computer previously). I was wondering if it is possible to change the engine type on a particular aircraft, specifically the new FedEx paint. According to the FAA's registry, N608FE has the GE engines, but it has the PW's on the repaint. I thought it was odd the old livery had GE's and the new has PW's..http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_Results.aspx?NNumbertxt=608FEAnyway, I didn't want to start messing around with the cfg and mess it up.     Ladies and Gentlemen,as the title says. I was about to complete, with an automated landing option, the 1st tutorial flight EGLL - LSZH, fully established on RWY 14 for ILS , LOC and G/S shown on the FMA, and at aroungd 1000ft before touchdown i hear the engines at full power and the aircraft started slowly slowly climbing executing something like a missed approach. Although the missed approach was inside the FMC and it was shown on the ND in magenda, the aircraft was climbing away with the RWY heading towards the Alps. I tried to change some data on the FMC to return back for another approach but I ended up doing things that the most obvious result was to face the ground …

    I parked the MD-11 at London ( Heathrow airport ) and tried to select an ATISfrequency of 121.935 ( according to Navigraph chart )To my surprise I could only obtain 121.925 or 121.950 but not 121.935.Is there a way to fine tune this to 121.935 ?ThanksHerbert Werni

    Is anyone aware of a program that will convert flightplans with a rte extension to flightplans with a pln extension. I need to covert MD-11 flightplans which are in the folder to flightplans which will be recognized by Active Sky Evolution. I am using vroute premium for plans. If vroute premuim has a plan I can download it as a pln to Flight Simulator X Files and then as a rte to PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS. Active Sky will then recoginize the pln in Flight Simulator X Files. I have copied and pasted rte files from PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS to Flight Simulator X Files but when I try import the rte into Active Sky from Flight Simulator X Files rte is not in the list of available flightplans…

    Hey folks, I had my PSA fuselage masters from the NGX, I thought would see how they would look on the MD-11. After a little modification, here is the result.PSA never had an MD-11 but they did have an L-1011 at one point. Perhaps if PSA had expanded they might have aquired MD-11s. Perhaps on high density west coast to hawaii/latin america routes.CheersTJ
