PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi,I have just purchased the MD-11 aircraft and I am experiencing some minor but rather frustrating issues. When I am nearing the end of the cruise and about to start the descent I arm the descent profile for a lower altitude in readiness for the profile descent. At top of descent it begins descending as expected. In other aircraft such as the NGX when I turn off prof it will show a marker on the ND of where I will level at my imputed altitude with my current vertical speed. So basically I want to be able to decide where I want to end up depending upon my v/s.In the MD-11, I can alter my vertical speed, but I have absolutely no idea when I am going to reach that level bec…

I am in the normal 'left seat' in the VC view and I am stuck with a permanent 'finger-hand cursor' that stops me from controlling the aircraft. It's okay in 2D.Any help appreciated.

New MD-11F'er here. I took the plunge and spent the cash on what at first glance appeared to be an inferior item to the NGX. I secretly feel that a product like those PMDG produces is worth $100+ and the $ tag was making me sweat but fell within my "limit" for FSX products of this caliber. The VC and other issues made me hesitant but I felt that if it could approach the quality of the NGX it was actually a bargain (Disclaimer: This does not mean raise prices :(). Plus I am glad to spend my $$$ to keep PMDG working on getting me my aviation fix. Wrong...Wrong...Wrong. THIS IS A GREAT AIRPLANE! Hello everyone: Recently I confused about a question......The Speed limit when at and below barometer 10000ft is 250kt for the aircraft,can this limit is permitted to modify by the pilot? I am seeing an odd issue with the FLEX settings in the take off settings.I am setting up a T/O from TNCB with a GW of 523.7 thousand lbs. OAT is 25 deg C. If I set FLEX TEMP to 46, I get a thrust limit of 105.8, if I set it to 47, the thrust rating becomes 81.9, at 48 it drops to 58, at 49 it goes to 81.2 and at 50 it goes back to 104.4. Is there a reason for this? It doesn't match what I would expect, nor does it match TOPCAT, which shows a somewhat linear progression across various flex temps. I caught it the hard way, because I had set 47 for my takeoff, and wasn't even close to making it.I have not found anything that explains this - so any input appreciated.Joe …

HI !I fly FSX with Radeon HD 8650 Eyefinity and resolution of 5760x1080 in VC panel. Everything works fine with 737 NGX.The problem arise when I load MD 11 because an odd flickering cursor thinking icon which stop me to fly this aircraft.What can I do?Thanks in advance (sorry for bad english)

Just bought PMDG MD 11 and as soon as I set up on the tarmac, I get a fatal error within 30 seconds. I checked to see if there was an undate for this, but it looks as if I have the recent version. Anyone has an idea on how to fix this?

Sorry if this has been covered before and I am sure it is not a MD-11 problem , but the MD-11 was the plane I was using last when this problem happened and I will be grateful if someone can direct me to the right place to get an answer. After touchdown and rolling out to the exit ramp I notice that the rudder is full right and no matter what I do to correct this, it still reverts to full right rudder.Saitek Pro pedals with FSUIPC latest payed edition. Recalibrate with FSUIPC has no effect. After having hesitated for a long time (MD-11 is not popular any longer with airlines), I decided to go ahead.While everything is performing very well, I noticed that, at take-off he acceleration to 80kts is very quick, even with derated settings. HelloMy MD11 can't climb to planned cruise altitude (FL330 for example) with STD altimeter (29.92). It stops climbing at ~32700ft with 29.92, but when I switch standard 29.92 by pressing "B" to local altimeter pressure (30.28 in this case) I can see correct altitude on altimeter.29.9230.28I'm using ASE for weather. Good evening Captains,Seeing as the MD-11 can technically fall under being applicable to the MEL (gotta love the system programming) I decided to download the MMEL from the FAA website. Now there is reversion 10 (standard) and revision 10a (incremental).My question is what is the difference between the two? Do I need both or just 10a?

This is probably normal behaviour, but I'd appreciate it if you'd help me understand what's happening here.Tutorial Heathrow to Zurich:You can see from the MCDU that I've been descending from FL370 to arrive at BLM at or below FL200. (If BLM isn't legible, it's the waypoint next to LFSB.) The magenta spot has been centred on the profile indicator during the descent. What I don't understand is why now, 20 miles before BLM , the aircraft levels out at FL200, and the magenta dot sinks showing I'm above profile. Using SLEW, I found the profile passes BLM at around 14500'. So why does the aircraft not follow the profile?Thanks for your helpGeoff Kent

Well i am not to say but i find it rather easy to get this bird in the air on very short runways (15-1600meters with relativ heavy gross weight(230000kg)) so i was thinking this might not be simulated by PMDG or is it me? TOPCAT cannot perform takeoff calc for these short fields offcause.ThanksMichael Moe

Hi folks!Having a bit trouble saving flightplans without the SID. I'm unable to access the AIRWAYS selection key without choosing a SID first. I guess there must be a way to delete the SID, and then wha'ts left is the flight plan from airport to airport! This is what I want to save :)Anyone?RegardsMorten Haughom

Well as an happy customer of the PMDG747X,NGX series and now the MD11 i seeme to get more and more freq. out of memory issues even with Autogen on Normal in places like EGLL . This is offcourse not the case with the other birds and i know that Ryan has optimized the NGX even futher with the SP.Is there any chance that this can transferred to the MD11?Thanks/Michael MoeDoes anybody know if Texture Maxload =2048 being reduced to standard 1024 would make a memory decrease?How much does the livery "eat" of the memory ?ThanksMichael Moe
