Hi there everybody I found nothing about my problem in this forum, so I star a new topic :help: Some thing goes wrong with my beautiful MD11 Sometime I have a strange problem, impossible to enter the radio frequency in the CDU. VOR and ILS When I select 113.30 in the scratchpad I get in VOR 2 113.00? 113.30 the result is 113.00 Same problem with the ILS. 109.90/094 in scratchpad the result is 109.00/094. .30=.00 .90=.00 If you know what exactly works wrong, please feedback the answer Thanks, and sorry for my English Best regard Olivier

Hi, I just noticed something that puzzled me. I am flying from Bangkok to Sydney, currently cruising at the optimum altitude of FL310 and using a Cost Index of 200. I decided to play around with the Cost Index and see what outcomes I got with EFOB and ETA on arriving in Sydney. I lowered the Cost Index to 50 and the PROG page told me I would use more fuel and arrive later. I raised the Cost Index to 500 and the PROG page told me I would arrive earlier and use slightly less fuel. After flying the MD-11 for several years, I thought I had a pretty good grasp of the systems. I have probably what is a very simple question. There are some pretty detailed instructions flying the approach into RWY 34L. Basically gears need to be down and locked at a certain DME, final flaps at certain DME, etc... For example: Gear down and locked before IQY D 12.3. IQY is ILS DME 111.9 I put IQY 111.9 in the NAV/RADIO page (1L) of the FMC. Click on VOR 1. So, my problem is the distance does not show on VOR1 for IQY. I just looked at the chart and distance is also mentioned for the Narita VOR (NRE). Thinking back, I probably should have just used th…

Hi all, On the PFD of the MD-11, the flight path is not indicated. I'm not talking about the magenta flight director bars. I'm referring to the small circle that indicates that flight path angle of the aircraft. I remember seeing it there but now it doesn't appear on the PFD. Could I have turned it off or something? Hi guys, I got two problems for the beautiful bird. The one is just occurred yesterday, I made a flight from JFK to Osaka, it's a very long haul flight for MD-11, the take off weight is nearly MTOW. During take off, I got Engine Fail during V1........and then I crashed the plan..... How could it happen? I don't think I set anything about failure. By the way, the take off thrust is nearly full thrust (around 110%). The second problem is about nav data, it happened not only on the latest Airac (1206) I found the direction of the runway on the ND is incorrect, the direction is slightly different, how can I resolve the issue? Hi, I've recently upgraded to FSX Gold Edition. I've got the PMDG MD-11 combo version and really enjoyed this bird on FS9. I've decided to make my simming a bit more realistic by building a throttle quadrant (very basic) for the MD-11. I was able to use FSInterrogate to find 3 offsets which I was able to use to figure out the logic for when the autothrottles are engaged or not. These offsets are however not visible in FSX or they are completely different. Now before I get stoned for asking about offsets for the MD-11... I know the issues around this. (more or less) But, why were these 3 offsets findable in FS9 but not FSX? Are there any chances to provide just the…

Do I set up the fms to be at 11,000 at 40nm from airport to comply with radar contact controllers? I obviously cant do it like i do in the NGX, any hints? If I am not on a star this is problematic. Thanks Marc

I just reinstalled MD-11 and tried to do the basic tutorial. Everything was fine until after gear and flap retraction on the way to 6000ft. First the aircraft began to lose speed while in autoflight mode, then it went into speed protection. After a few seconds, the aircraft manages to climb to 6000ft but the plane continues to accelerate and I see a message in grey saying 218 PITCH (flashing). CLB THRUST is gone and it's replaced by HOLD. You can see this in the attached pic. I'm sure you have all been here before, flying 11 hours (in my case from Helsinki to Singapore) in the MD only to have a fatal error and subsequent crash of FSX 2nm before touchdown. I was happy to see VATSIM ATC present as I was 200nm out, I was requested to contact tower on final approach. As I did so, he was just giving me clearance to land when....... BAM! Everything froze! Good day all! Before I get to topic title, let me first explain what I have gooing on. I have followed and completed the Tutorial by the numbers and successfully completed the flight several times. When I venture outside of the Tutorial flight and try to use the same procedures except with a different flightplan, still following the steps though, I seem to run into problems. Hello, something puzzles me concerning weights on the WEIGHT INIT page on the FMC. Reading the Tutorial Flight 2 somewhere in the Weight and Take off data section says... "Although you got your final ZFW and CG data when using the load manager tool, this data normally is handed over to the pilots once loading of the aircraft is completed. With this you get the final ZFW and the ZFW CG to insert into the FMC". How can I get the final ZFW CG? What I do is that i fire the load manager first set pax weight and cargo weight, then i sent it to FSX and i 'order' the fuel realistically via the refueling panel. Hey Fellow Simmers I have been exclusively flying this excellent product for years, it has given me hours of pleasure and kept my brain active way beyond its sell by date. For the first time ever, however, I seem to have a problem. I seem to have misplaced all cockpit sounds, regardless of 2D, external or VC view. All was fine one minute but on starting a new flight after an overnight rest stop (LOL) I noticed that undertaking the normal “check list” did not generate any normal clicks or warning sounds, bells, buzzers or anything. Hi, I'm completely new to the MD-11, but didn't have an absolutely hard time following the tutorial included. That being said I'm slightly confused as to what is put in the TEMP/WIND field in the FMS when I'm starting flights that are inconsistent with the tutorial. It says it is the temperature and wind of the first enroute fix, but where do I find the first enroute fix and the temp and wind reaedings?

I started noticing a problem with my MD-11's ability to hold the localiser on an ILS approach a few flights ago. Even in relatively calm winds (right crosswind of 4 kts), the plane was unable to hold the localiser better than one to one-and-a-half dots of deviation left of course. I clicked off the autopilot 3 miles out because inside that distance a correction to return to centerline would've required larger and larger bank angles. If I had let the plane autoland (it was available), I would've most likely touched down in the grass. This problem has continued, and I've noticed enroute devations left of course as well. Hey guys,I have been using the MD-11 and FS2crew for FSX almost a year now. I just recently started seeing this so I have no idea what caused it. How ever I have read about the 64 window limit and I do not have any other add ons except FSUIPC, UT2, Supertraffic board and FS2CREW. I have had all those add ons for over a year and this just happened? The only other thing that I changed was my graphics card drivers which I updated for Nivida GTX 580.Any ideas to try? Maybe roll back to the original drivers on the card or delete a window panel? I recently purchased the md-11 when I fly with 100 % fuel according to the FSX on screen report, I get a message that fuel is criticaly low in the selected tank. I can't figure out how you can tell which tank is selected. I can get to the screen that shows the tanks and how much fuel is in each one, but can't determine which one is selected. Can someone please help!

Hi everyone, I already own the FSX version of the MD11 and found out the FS9 version was the only one with reflective glass in the VC. So, I purchased the FS9 version, but after loading the AC, there is none. I can't find an option to turn it on either anywhere. This is the only reason I purchased the FS9 version. The screen shots show reflective glass and I know they are from FS9. Can anyone enlighten me to what might be happening here? I have it in all my other FS9 models made with it.
