PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

When I fill the FROM / TO the fmc, the whole FSX crashes, making it impossible to play. I've tried reinstalling, but did not work! Hi everyone! I need your help! I just bought the PMDG MD11 and i don't have any joystick, and when i try to fly with the keyboard command it doesn't work. But with the PMDG 737 I don't have this problem and i would really like to know how to fly this bird with my keyboard! Can anyone help me? Thanks!

When programming the MCDU I: 1. Enter my first waypoint 2. Select that waypoint 3. Select Airways 4. Enter my first airway 5. Enter my next airway and the one after that until the page is full (I'm at LSK 5L) My question is, is there a way to keep adding airways? Right now I enter my end waypoint for the last airway, use Insert to place all of this into the flight plan, scroll to the last waypoint, than select it, wash-rinse-repeat till I finish entering my flight plan. So, is there a way to continue entering airways; scroll down or next page or whatever?

I have what I hope is a rather simple question. When I download and install a livery from PMDG for the MD-11, as I understand it, the installation process also sets up the correct engine type. An example of what I am saying is the livery for KLM sets it to have GE engines instead of PW engines. If I am wrong on this please let me know. At any rate my question is When installing a McPhat MD-11 World Airliners package are the engines properly set? Thanks, Ed

Hello, I have bought PMDG MD11 and 747-400 but i have one problem. After exiting to windows several times when i return to my FSX my screen is black and i need to restart my fsx. This happens only with PMDG planes. I have Inter I7 2600k Nvidia GTX560 8GB ram 1T HDD and 64GB SSD What is the solution ?? Please help me. Kind Regards Dusan Pavlovic

I have a slight problem that I cannot find a solution for. I just reinstalled the MD-11 and tried to fly, when I noticed that none of the guages on the 2d or vc panel come to life. I have tried with panel set for after engine start, cold and dark and prior to engine start. I have waited for over 20 minutes, I have changed the IRS to instant and still no guages. Have I missed something in the installation? Please help.

hello together, I still really love to fly our old md-11. Just an awesome plane ;-) I only have the problem with the not correct aligned runways on takeoff and landing. When I do an ILS approach, after following the waypaints what are on the extended runway centerline, the runway is always bears always to the right or left on my navigation display. The same on takeoff. I line up stright on the runway withe the right heading, on my nav display the runway also bears to the right or left and is not straight. When my engine two get high temp and i follow QRH to shutdown engine and descent to FL300(in fmc crz pref max altitude),and notice can not maintain fms speed(magenta) in FL300,it's normal procedure? And what function for overboot bar?

Hi, Today I serched for a routing on vatroute and on that one I found it said: My plan was to fly the first part to MALBE at FL240 and then to do a step climb to FL340. I tried to tell that the FMC however after 20 minutes I hadn't a solution and I ended up doing that manually. First I tought I could enter 240/340 in the F-PLN INIT page however the FMC calculates the step climb directly after the first top of climb, as the aircraft is light enough to climb to FL340 initally. It seemed if ther isn't any need for a step climb the FMC won't let me do one. Then I tried to enter every alt restriction to MALBE manually, however the top of climb and the step clim…

Since a few days I encounter a weird problem when flying the MD-11. It often happens that the views switches without any input.Ex: I am in 2-D View mode and all of a sudden it get switched to something else, could be a FlyBy. Then I press F10 again and after a few seconds another switch happens. Before uninstalling everything and reinstalling it again I wonder if anybody has encountered something similar and how was it corrected ? Thanks for any suggestions. I have looked in the forum but if this has been covered before I could not find anything. When I come into land (Approach/land armed) everything is ok until touch down then I keep getting an audible warning "Autopilot". How can I cancel the warning please? Cheers

I am not sure if this is the right forum for my question but since I fly with the PMDG-MD-11 I ask anyway. I understand the SID ( see attached picture ) except for the ALT RESTRICTION which indicates "Climb to 5000 " Can anybody explain what is meant and what to do after take off ? Thanks Paul12

Hello Captains. I have a slight issue when flying at night. (including dusk and dawn). The AI aircraft I have (Ultimate Traffic) is only visible by their Nav lights and with some aircraft their slats. Is there a simple solution to this to be able to see the entire AC as I can during the day? Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. With best regards. David Bell

I know it's a Fantasy Livery but I am surprised nobody has done it yet. Talking about the New Merger Livery that United uses now. Basically the paint is all White with United Text and a Globe on the tail. Should be a very easy Livery to do compared to some other airlines. Anyone up to the Task? Hi folks, i was just wondering if anyone knows which aircraft was used by NASA to conduct the Propulsion controlled aircraft testing done in the mid 90's. All the photos are pretty low res and i cant see any reg marks. The aircraft is bare alloy finish. thanks Alan

I recently flew the MD-11 on a short haul flight, and I noticed some problems (not related to flight dynamics, performance etc.). First, the pilots are not visible in the cockpit. Only their bodies are. Second, the hi-intensity, nav, and wing lights always remain on, even if I shut them down properly. All these small problems don't really make a difference; I'm just writing in the forum to make my MD-11 package perfect and bug-free.

Hi all, When switching to the 2D cockpit the MCP does not "stretch" completely from left to right of the screen. There is a small gap left on the left side. The other part of the cockpit (except the MCP) displays correctly. Thanks, Christos

Hi PMDG teamI recently bought the 737 NGX and am amazed with the quality of both the VC and the exterior model.I have however fallen completely to the PMDG MD11, over 600 hours on it so far and still counting up. Tough the MD 11 VC is not bad at all, compared with the 737, there is still so much potencial for this bird.Would be nice if you guys don't forget the MD11ers out there, and sometime in the future consider releasing an updated version of this beautiful airplane.Happy landings and greetings from switzerland,Kevin Hürlimann

Hi I have a problem with my md-11, every time I try to make autoland to any airports , the plane lands always to the right side of the runway, so it dont land middle of the runway, With other planes I have no problem. Pls Help, :( I run FSX with acceleration pack and win 7 64/ home premium

Hi all, I'm sure most of you have viewed the ITVV MD-11 video from Amsterdam to Palma. I have a question about the loading of the MD-11, flight 341. At the beginning of the video, the dispatcher goes over the flight for the day with Ruud Bakker. I cannot make out some of the things the dispatcher says because her english accent is not very clear. When she discusses the zero fuel weight, she uses the word "from," which does not make any sense. She says we have a zero fuel weight from 164.7, and that's based on 296 passengers and 500 kilograms of cargo. It sounds as though the zero fuel weight will change "to" another value, so why not give the total zero fuel weight? When…

This week I bought the MD-11 FSX, and I have a problem with the voice. You never hear that the first officer spoke V1, Rotate, etc. I reinstalled MD-11 but nothing helped. Any suggestions what might be. I have FSX Accel. Thank you Leo

Hey, I really have a big problem with the MD-11 on FSX. I installed this addon on my Laptop some months ago. I runs there. But now I have a new PC. After installing it I wanted to check out the LoadManager. I just saw the plane but without the seats of the main deck and the Cargo deck without the boxes. The LoadManager was unable to change any weights. I don't know why. Then I thought I try to load and to fly the plane first. But then after choosing the aircraft it loads and loads. There was no plane to see on the page. It was just black. Then I waited a while and then I became the message: It is a fatal error occurred. FSX was automaticilly closed. It uninstalled the ad…

SO..recently installed FSX on a new computer, all is well, bought the MD11, installed, everythng looks and works great as far as the plane goes except this.. i cant explainn it but im sure it has somthing to do with my laptop having a 64 bit OS? any ideas? tried the uninstall and reinstall and repair, but no avail. any help will be appreciated.

This is with reference to the value stated for Dry Runway Estimated Landing Distance at Flaps 50/EXT mentioned on Page No 420 Under Procedures and Techniques section of the PMDG MD-11 FCOM (Doc Ref: PMDG MD-11 FCOM/PD.00.2/DTD 04 AUGUST, 2008). The Value mentioned therein is 1550. I suppose it is a typographical error and should have been 4550 instead. Refer attachment for details. Kindly cross check your documention.
