Strange thing, FSX crashes when I type in the alternate airport.... Is anyone out there who experienced this problem ? Best Steffen Rabenau

Hi all, im having some issues with the MD-11 and Radar contact. I believe i know what the issue is but i need help fixing it. Firstly my QNH is set correctly (1013) but when betty calls 2500 my aircraft is around 300ft above this. Radar contact keeps shouting at me for missing my crossing restriction and thats because it doesnt know im at the previously request altitude. What could be causing my a/c to be high thanks Alan

Each time i try to install the MD11 from the dvd my pc bsod''s when choosing to install from startupmenu. Any idea if i can donwload an online package? Greetings Sam

Is there a way to assign a key ( or key combination ) to activate the speed brakes ( not the spoilers ) I checked the FSX and PMDG options but it seems there is none. Are there any other programs to do so ? Your help is appreciated Hubert Werni

So far MD-11 system is impressed for me.And I has few question with MD-11 also i was search in forum but still no found good answer. Q1. In F-PLN INIT 6L TEMP/WIND is set up for first enroute fix,how can i get this aloft wind and tempo data? I not has ASE or FOC to do this,so is another way to get? And i only have REX(Hard to get aloft wind in flight plane). Q2 This was discuss before a lot time,is how to accurate calculate fuel? I was using NGX tutotial 2 to calculate fuel for 737NG,it's really nice teaching us for fuel question,so have something like that to calculate fuel? By the way i was using some web fuel calculate,it's not accurate...

Having trouble with slow loading of livery textures . Anyone experiencing similar, any advice would be appreciated...

Good morning to all. Since this morning, I have a problem with the cargo version. The panel loads, engines are running, but all gauges stay black. If I change aircraft to load the pax version, then all runs normaly, panel loads, screns show then the red cross over, and then all light up correctly. No need to say I have a legal original version, I know I already experienced that, but cab't remember how I solved this. All input will be very appreciated. Cyrille

Dear simmers, I have played a lot with the PMDG MD11 and its quite fun to fly ( even if its hard to :P ). Now I want to take it to a next level and make something from the MD11 cockpit. I want to build a Throttle Quandrant to add more realism to the flight. I have searched and searched and came up empty. I have really found nothing related to the dimensions or structure of which the MD11 throttle quandrant is built of. Im doing this as a summer project with a friend of mine who is going to build the throttle quandrant of a Boeing 737. Can i set cold&dark panel state in initiate flight? Like NGX can set C/D to every initiate flight. And is possible to retain set up random failure in initiate flight then i don't need to set random failures before every flight? Also like NGX has this function..

Hi, I posted this in the General Forum last night but I still haven't got an answere to my Problem. So I thought I would try it here. I'm trying to uninstall the PMDG MD-11, 747-400F, the 1.2 update, the 747-400, and the 737NG from the Control Panel in Windows 7. When I selecte the aircraft to uninstall, such as the MD-11, nothing happens. The same thing happens with all the PMDG products. I even tried to uninstall them by running the install product and it still will not work. For example, I have the 1.2 service update of the MD-11, and the text says to uninstall this update before uninstalling the previous version. When I run the 1.2 service update, it doesn't allow me…

Hi all, I hadn't flown the MD-11 recently because of the release of the NGX. Today however, I was in the mood for a long-haul flight, so I decided to fly from Schiphol to St. Martin. For some reason, something has happened to the fonts. The picture speaks for itself I think. Does anyone know how to fix this? Best regards, Stefan

After loading the MD-11 their is no view of the outside if I select a Gate to start. If I start at a runway everything is perfect. The outside view from the cockpit is normal. m If I select a Gate Number to start the Sim the outside view from the cockpit is a blank. If I change to the outside of the aircraft everything is visible. The gate, plane, etc. I can move around the plane with full view in all selections, but if I return to the inside of the cockpit, the cockpit is in full view, but the outside of the wind screen is blank. I must have something set wrong. Need a little help. Wayne Flynn

When I look to the wing from cockpit window all I can see is the NAV and Strobe lights with no sign of the wing, any idea why?

After long time flying with PMDG NGX600, I decided to switch back to MD-11X. I made three long distance with MD-11 without any incident, But today a problem started, When I try to switch from windowed screen to full screen as soon as I clicked CTRL+ALT+ENTER. FSX gives Fatal error and crashes, I can fly with windowed mode but not Full screen mode, All other PMDG airplanes working well. Will you please advise how to solve this problem? Thanks

Trying to advance my skill in flying the MD11. Trying to change from a primary route to an alternative midway during flight. For example I have programmed into the FMS a Flight plan CYUL to CYYT and an alternative route CYUL to CYQX. So both routes are in the FMS database. I have tried to follow the FMS instructions manual but although I get there in the end things don't seem to happen as is stated in the instructions. I was hoping someone would give me a blow by blow instruction of how to change to the alternative plan midflight. Thanks in advance!

Would it be possible to add instruments magnifiers to allow big zooms on ADIs + HSIs + engines panel, just like the ones provided with the NGX that are of great help ? For those of us not owning Track IR, that would be great, cause those instruments, while depicted at their correct sizes I guess, are rather small. this topic is at the wrong place !!!! sorry please delete

The MD-11 MCDU has so called FSActions for doors etc What I do not understand is the difference between cabin doors being "armed" or "disarmed" as I can open/close them with both options. I searched the manuals but could not find an answer. Can anybody provide an explanation ? Thanks Hubert Werni

hello, I just installed a navigraph update for the md11. now i noticed some incorrectnes on my flights in australia. runways are not correct displayed in my ND. it seems they dont't have the correct heading. and when i choose an ILS approach the line which leeads you normaly straight to the rwy has some litle curves on it. does anybody know how to solve this? thanks alot, nicolas

I still consider purchase md-11,and i already have NGX then MD-11 level of system as like NGX? And saw some discuss about bug,md-11 still have bug not fix?

Hi all havnt flown the md-11 since the ngx came out so decided to take her out. Trouble is when i enter the dep and destination data in the fmc fsx ctd. although if I use the co route it doesnt ctd i tried using the repair method but that didnt solve the problem. Other option is to do a uninstall and reinstall but since the md_11 is older than the ngx will that have any effect on the ngx at all

Hi, I have recently purchased the MD-11 and I am thinking of expanding the proffesionalism of my flying by purchasing one of the MD-11 manuals from PMDG. What I want is to be able to open the book and read through let's say the before takeoff checklist and the after takeoff checklist and all checklists like that. However, I have never purchased one of these books before and so I don't know which to go for and whether it will actually contain what I want. Could somebody please tell me if one of these books has the checklists I require and if so, which one. Many thanks in advance. Matthew
