PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I am about to work through the above tutorial trying to understand as many detailsas possible. What I cannot figure out are some entries in the NAV RADIO SETUP.( see attachedscreen shot ) For example:Where is this number 273 coming from at DET/273 and how is it defined ?( I also include a screen shot of the London SID from Navigraph ) I appreciate your help Hubert Werni

downloaded and setup PMDG Kai Tak SID STAR :I extracted VHHH.txt from VHHX_v9 SID STAR.zip to in the folder PMDG\SIDSTARS.I opened file wpNavAPT.txt, and added following to lines to the end of file, then I saved it.HONG KONG KAI TAK VHHX13 10930136 22.321667 114.196667111.9008800015HONG KONG KAI TAK VHHX31 10930316 22.305500 114.214500109.9031600015I opened file airports.dat, and added following line:VHHX 22.316667 114.203333But I have not in my MD-11's FMC VHHX STAR!!! Ive done a forum search, google, checked the WIki page for help, and I still can not for the life of me be able to enter certain custom way points, Im getting format errors, or not in database, when I attempt the short and long version entry. Im attemping to fly CYYC-EHAM and am struggling to ge the FMC to use these way points.My route5700N 10000W5930N 09000W 6100N 08000W 6300N 06000W 6300N 05000W 6200N 04000W 6000N 03000W 5700N 02000W Any help?

When I start FSX I get the following warning (see attachment) If I select do not run then FSX starts normally and so does the MD11 but minus the sound opsions in the FSX add on menu. There are no cockpit sounds either. If I select run then FSX crashes and crashes windows too. Running: Win Vista home premium SP2 FSX SP2 I wonder if anyone else has had similar problem. Red

Hello,I have about 150+ hours on the MD-11 but every descent I ever have had the TOD calculated from the FMS was too late so I end up using the speed brakes during the better part of the descent. This occurs in policy descend mode and in the ECON mode. If I start an early descend (pulling the altitude button at a lower altitude and then pressing profile a bit later) the aircraft flies at a very small vertical speed until it comes to the FMS calculated glide path where it later tries to follow it but fails ending up with ("speed error at x" and "altitude error at x"). Even when I am flying at FL70 and should descend to 5000 feet the airplane isn't able to either hold speed…

I'm slowly working my way through the tutorial, the other night I got as far as page 15, then had to end it there, I tried saving the panel state but got a message saying unable to create file. Tried again tonight and got the same. Just occurred to me as I write this that it could be because I am using Vista!! Can anyone advise please?

Hi All, Lately I have noticed the plane is not following the flight plan heading but is pretty much following an adjacent course parallel to the magenta line and when try to bring the aircraft over to the magenta course via a manual course change, the sim gives me a fatal error message. Any thoughts and I know I am not explaining the situation in technical terms so forgive a newbie. Skip Ciman

I installed the software MD 11X not long ago and my "teething" problems are :[1] when i MANUALLY create a flightplan, i don't see any intermediate waypoints on the ND/FMC[2] when i click "insert" after inputting approach data, my screen freezes and a Microsoft error report is generated Any pointers or solution will be greatly appreciatedThanks

Hello,I posted this same post in the FSX Forum too because it seems the that the problem i get its not only on the MD-11 but also on default planes too.All goes well, untill i hit the windows key to go to the desktop enviroment, while FSX still running, and use the MD-11 Load Manager. Going back to FSX all i get is a black screen. Then the only solution is to press the Esc key to go back to the menu which is visible. From cockpit to desktop all is ok but from desktop to cockpit black screen and no sounds and this happens to default planes too.What do i do wrong? is it because all my sliders almost are to the right? thank you for any helpPanos

hi, I just installed may md11 again and have the following problem. standing in cairns an want to make just some testflights. I put in the fms rwy 15 for takeoff and a sid called "swr" or soething i think. and now I want to delete the last waypoint in the flightplan section of the fms and always when i'm doing it I got an crash to desktop. in the event viewer it tells me its caused by the \GAUGES\PMDG_MD11.DLL. already did a new installation. can anybody help? thank you, nicolas

Take a look at page 2-2 of this Boeing document provided by Vroute Premium http://www.boeing.com/commercial/airports/acaps/md11sec2.pdf. It indicates at MTOW of 602500 lbs. It shows optional MTW up to 633500 but no optional MTOW. Several times in the past I have tried their fuel calculator but it can't be used because I always exceed the MTOW. So I questioned them about it and received this document in the reply.

Having been off from flying the MD-11 since the 737NGX came out, I seem to have forgotten how to manually input the From/To when programming the flightplan in the FMC, or I am doing something wrong because when I just input the Dep/Arr in the From/To after the IRSs are initialised,the entire sim goes into a lock-up mode, then after re-starting FSX, I then have to create a flightplan in FSC v9 to get the FMC to accept a Co-Route flightplan. Unfortunately, Aivlasoft's export to the PMDG Flightplans folder will not accept any flightplan, e.g. OMDBLSZH01.rte which is why I've to go the manual input method. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

I have an interesting one lol, okay so when I'm ready for engine start I click "3" on the FS2crew panel and the captain says "Starting number 3" the FO usually says "Ready" but instead he just states the whole start "45 percent, parameters stabalized" even before I click the starter, and when I click that he says 15 percent at 38 percent lol. I also have an issue with him giving me call outs for V1 Rotate and Positive rate, I have disabled PMDG FO call outs, is this a simple reinstall or more an fs2crew issue? maybe I should report him to the FAA for drinking while flying? thanks guys and gals, love this forum btw, great people unlike other places Nate

Just purchased and installed the product for FS9. Hi all, I'v been flying the MD-11 since 2 good years now. Recently, i'm experiencing a bothering problem when i'm handflying the beast (this never happened before). This happens just after take-off. At 1500AGL, it's getting difficult for me to manually turn, as if the plane was too heavy or if controls were very weak. Also when i'm checking on the flight control display, i can see the ailerons are moving without any smooth, like stutter effect, and even not going to the full ailerons movement (which is not the case when i'm on ground for instance). My .dll files are messed up.and possibly fsx.cfg.I seem to recall some time ago,there was a post which addressed this problem.It indicated how to fix this.It seemed to have happened after installing some RAZBAM aircraft,althougg tis could be a coincidence.Any help appreciated.Ron

hi mates,loading a saved flight, I get wierd Cabin Altitude values and corresponding alerts, just like in the screenshot below. However only in flight, not on ground.Though I suspect it's Active Sky changing whatever values, I'd like to ask for your help possibly solving this. Good eveningt together,i have got a question abaout the md 11 for fsx. I use 2 monitors on my pc. On the main screen I have the virtual cockpit and on the second screen i tried to use the PDF, ND, the enging displayand the MCP as 2D panel. Now my first try was to use just the regular 2D captain panel an pull it on the second monitor. everything works fine an I thought thats it. But then I saw that the 2D panels freeze in combination withe the VC on the main screen. The instruments in the VC are working fine, just the 2D panels on the second monitor freeze. If i go to an outside view in the main screen they work fine. if I go back to VC, freeze. Is this a bug? Any chance t…

When the airplane is flying at a cruising altitude with the autothrottle engaged I find the power settings are frequently unstable. For a period of some minutes all three N1 values range up and down together by as much as 10% if not somewhat more. The N2 and fuel consumption values follow as do the graphically displayed throttles. Much of the time the power is quite solid (N1 of 90% with the GE engines and 79% with the PW engines), but then for some reason it becomes unstable. It appears to occur only when the autothrottle is engaged. I would appreciate knowing whether this is a common problem and, if so, whether there is a fix. Peter Lowry.

On a flight with the PMDG-MD-11 the MCDU gave the following errormessage: CLBALTCSTRS DELETED Can anybody tell me what this means and how to avoid it.To my surprised the flightwent without any problems. Herbert Warner

I have messed around with my lights with 3d lights and neglected to save my aircraft config file. Big mistake. I can't get them to work correctly. I have nice lights but as soon as I turn them off they don't operate corectly after that. I just want to go back to originals. Would someone please post the original light section from the aircraft config for either the pas or cargo plane. Thanks Ken
