I'v been flying over the past few months on Vatsim, all the KLM MD-11 routes that I could find as being current (ie bookable at the time of my flying the route on Vatsim)As it is I am coming toward the end of the available routes that KLM run, with only 1 return flight left to do. I am wondering if anyone has all the routes (destinations only is fine) that Finnair are still running with MD-11's and maybe World Airways also (although I know some of their flights arn't exactly... regular, and I'v already flown their Angola one out of Houston "George Bush to The Fourth of February" airports :(Anyone have a good list of the Finnair (especially) routes? Hello Your technical advise is kindly asked: When on ground and connected to both external power buses I could not start the APU in several different FS sessions. I always had to start the main engines with ground air connected. I guess that the Air, Fuel, Elec and Hyd systems are supposed to be in AUTO mode as they were. Then, I found out that I could start the APU as soon as I switch the Fuel panel on the Overhead to Manual mode and switch on the fuelpumps. I don't understand this repeatable behavior. Out of curiosity, I switched off all three generators and deployed the RAT. I was overwhelmed by seeing dozens of alerts and warnings showing up, some DUs went off completely and with them familiar information sources were suddenly gone, overhead panel parts weren't lighted anymore etc. etc.I guess some are familiar with events like this, but this was the first time for me to seriously ask for a training source with which I could prepare to handle emergencies properly.Since things happen fast in the air, at the moment I would be incapable to detect the root cause of a problem quickly enough. I am thinking of purchasing Active Sky Advanced but there seems to a problem in using it with the MD11.Are there people using ASA satisfactorily with the MD11 or is it matter of waiting until an update is available which removes the problems, or perhaps finding another weather add on? I am having a problem with shimmering textures in the virtual cockpit. Searching the forum, I have not seen a solution, only an older thread from another user with the same problem. Have a look at Chris_1981's thread and particularly his screen shots. My shimmering is in exactly the same places. Greetings all,I recently purchased the MD-11 for FSX, and in addition to learning about this plane I've also been trying to learn how to use the virtual cockpit. Until now, I've used the 2D cockpit for all my flying. The VC looks great, but one thing I've noticed is that some of the buttons are hard to read because of the viewing angle. For example, while sitting in the pilot's seat, the "system" button next to the AFT CAB packs knob is almost hidden, as is the "3/1 off" part of the "Smoke Elec/air" button". These aren't major issues, but being unfamiliar with the VC is this normal, or is there any way to tweak the settings in order to see the overhead panel from the othe…

I am having trouble with climb to altitude in the PMDG MD-11. Try as I might nothing seems to work to get the MD-11 back on profile. I have read the FMS manual with regard to Vertical revision, checked out the forum here and I am still stuck. I get "Out of Range" msgs on the FMS if I try to set the next waypoint to an altitude only a couple of thousand feet higher than my current height so obviously thats not the way to do it. No amount of pushing and pulling on the Altitude Knob or pushing the "Prof " button works so I assume there is some FMS programming to do but how? I would like to get a magenta altitude reading above the altitude tape that reflects the flight plann…

Today, I changed my default flight from KSEA to KDFW after I had loaded the MD-11.Now, when I try to create a flight, the MD-11 will not do the countdown for initialization and all screens are blank.I have uninstalled the PMDG MD-11 and reinstalled it.Again, the same thing.No countdown for initialzation and all screens are blank.What do I do?I have changed the default aircraft back to a cesna.I use FS9 on Windows XP

Hi all, it's good to see the forums back!1. I was flying a Fedex MD11F into Moscow on Vatsim last week flying in Metric alt, my charts stated I needed to be in QFE I had no problem selecting it in the past but now I get QFE disabled?? so what have I changed by mistake?2. I discovered by accident that if I fill in the weight init page including the TOCG before I refuel I will get a CG Disagree on Taxi out. If I fill everything in and then add TOCG 'after' I refuel I will get the correct TOCG and correct trim figures on the TO page and no warnings on taxi out.So I'm curious to know if this is realistic, I understand that real crew don't right click the TOCG LSK to get th…

I have seen this problem a couple of times now. For my current flight, over 4300 nm, I have entered a FL of 300/340 in the FMC, set the altitude control to 30000 on the FCP, done all the profile and autoflight type things for take off. I take off and hit autoflight above 300' and the aircraft climbs as it should, all indicators are purple on the PFD, the speed, thrust, NAV2 and the preset altitude. The aircraft climbs to around 29500 and then switches to HOLD 30000 and won't climb any further - the engine mode also stays at CLB. The PERF screen on the FMC shows the optimal FL as being FL300 with a max of FL320. Any ideas what I have done wrong?

Is there anyone out there using both these programs? F.O.C does have a fairly steep learning curve and questions to the forum at Danur.com can take a long time to get answered. I have managed to get the program working to the point it will generate an FSX flight plan but am not sure if it s possible to load it into the FMS. It is early days for me with the MD-11 and I am slowly getting through the manuals. If there is anyone willing to give me a heads up on the loading on plans into the FMS I would sure appreciate it. I believe the standard FSX plan has problems with regard to the PMDG aircraft.

hii would like to know if the new md-11 autothorttle moves smooth. I have the 737 pmdg and the throttle moves jerky when the autothrottle is engage.I asked pmdg the reason of the jerky move of the 737 AT and they told me that is for having better frame rates, but i think is not true, because it moves more than what it should be and the is not any conexion with the frame rate.I hope that in the next versions of 737 the problem will be fixedThanks alotmiguel

Hello,I am in need for some information about the paintkit for the MD11.I've been checking every and all single textures (even checked alpha layers), to find out where this part of the panel featuring the aircraft registration and the SELCAL data are painted, without luck so far:Could someone from the graphic team help me with this? Guys I would like some feedback on FS2Crew for the MD11 before I hit purchase. My setup is FS9 with 2 Fast machines networked, Running 3 screens, main screen is MD11F in VC other two screens are 2D panels undocked. Second machine running Squawkbox, activesky, TSR Autobrake, charts etc.Nearly all buttons are assigned through FSUIPC and running on GOFlight modules. I hear FS2CREW backs up and overwrites the key PMDG assignments that I set up. So anyone with roughly the same setup that could tell me if it intergrates smoothly, I only fly cargo so will I miss out on much? Can someone help me here? I just downloaded and installed the PMDG MD 11 for FSX and a few liveries. I was hoping to start with the tutorial but the Menu bar "Add-Ons" does not include a PMDG menu. Obviously that is needed to follow the tutorial. How do I go about getting that to show up? All that does show is FSUIPC and In Cabin Browser. Greetings,Im sorry to report a CTD issue with the latest V1.20 of the MD11 for FSX. It has happened twice while booting into the sim from the GUI and three times when operating within the sim. All error messages reference pmdg_md11.dll . No other recent config/FSX changes. Rolled back to v1.10 and the issue went away. A relatively simple scenario will produce the CTD on my system. Stock KDAL takeoff with ASA weather. The CTD will usually occur within 5 min of takeoff if not experienced when booting in from the FSX GUI.

I know it's been discussed before that at this moment PMDG, because of some agreement with Boeing, is not releasing fuel burn data on the MD-11. Well, honestly we have the aircraft and can see how much fuel it burns from the fuel guages, so my thought is that if we pool our data, we could come up with some pretty accurate numbers ourselves to use for fuel planning.My thoughts are if we all group together, than a couple of flights with very controlled conditions could come up with how CI, aircraft weight, flight level and such affect fuel burn. When all is said and done, it could even be put together into a large formula and use an excel spreadsheet macro to come up with…

Hi all, Long time fan of PMDG, and dedicated customer. Been flying PMDG for about 4 years now, superb products, and have never once had a problem; until now. Not a big problem and I'm sure it can be fixed easily, and I have looked on the forums but could not find anything. Hi,As there is no FS9 paintkit I have used the only MD11 paintkit available to create a repaint. All is fine until I get to the Tail Lighting at Night. Basically instead of the area where the lamp would shine being lit up - the whole tail texture is lit up...almost as tho the tail is in a room that is lit from everywhere...no shadow effects or anything just a bright texture. I've tried saving it as a DXT 3, DXT 1, Extended 32bit 888-8 and all give the same problem.Is there something I am missing?Best Regards,Tim

Just installed the PMDG FSX MD-11. Following the FS2crew tutorial. Go to Add-ons/Options etc.But when I click on this nothing happens and I return to the aircraft.
