PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

hi all, havnt heard any mention of this topic, although it might sound trivial. but on assigning key combination in the fs md11 as per pmdg, the flight director on captain side is ctrl+shift+a but when entered in fsuipc this button makes the pitch, takeoff takeoff clamp in the pfd disappear, and when replacing it with the fs key ctrl+f, this does not work for the FD either. does anyone have a key assigned that does the job. richard welsh.

I have noticed that when I load a saved panel before a flight with the MD11 (before engine start), the dome lights do not become operative until at least one engine has been started. The APU is already running so I would presume that would provide power to the dome lights?Andrew

Hello,when using and starting up a scenery with the MD-11 the small window appears with the counting initializing. On my system it starts flickering and from that moment on I cannot run FS9 anymore because the graphics are annoying..only stuttering and flickering.On my system I have installed the FSX with the MD-11 X as well.System specs: Intel Core2 Extreme X9650, 3Ghz, graphics: NVIDIA Geforce 9800 GX2Maybe here is any other user who has experienced the same problem or there is any support by the PMDG team?Btw: with the 737NG PMDG the problem does not occure.Thanks,regards Axel.

I have either missed something or misunderstood something: is there going to be a CD-ROM edition of the MD-11 for Fs2004? Why did I think Aerosoft USAC was going to be bringing it out now or a week or so ago? Appreciate any info/clarification, thanks.Jonathan

Firstly just want to say the aircraft is performing great with the new patch and fixed trim issues. Last night I noticed something strange on the second leg of a Vatsim trip LFPG - LIRF - EHAM FEDEX MD11 G&E.LFPG - LIRF was flawless, landed without event and taxied to gate and configured the aircraft for a short turnaround of 45 mins and refueled. Later I got my clearence to EHAM and taxied out to RWY25 performed all my checks chose flaps 15 with no FLEX. So I Lined up set T/O thrust and all looks good until around 100kts I notice the number 3 EGT is boxed red, I immediately Reject the take off, taxi of the active and have a look at what's gone wrong. I hope this hasn't been brought up before, but my MD-11s autopilot on the last few flights will climb up hold an altitude then step if needed then hold that for a bit then gets thrown off and it never recaptures the altitude it just climbs and descends in an attempt to recapture, but never fully captures it, any ideas? Sometimes I see it lose 2 or 3,000 feet in its attempt to recover with no success.

I had a little break flying the MD11 but since the new patch come along I got right back into it (great patch) but since then it seems when I attempt a auto hydaulic pressure test the button flashes the blue 'test' for a moment and I get 'hydraulic test fail' (or similar) message, I do the same thing as I did pre patch maybe now I am missing something, probably obvious.Besides the rest of the aircraft set up (engines are off) I switch on aux hyd pump 1 (hydraulics contoller is in auto) and there is pressure in hyd system 3 (green just under 3000) then I press the hyd press test button and it fails, any idea why, did I miss something?I have been doing the manual test for n…

Hi guysHave searched the forums but cant seem to find anything..Would just like to know how people feel about not having the option to disable the VC for the fs9 verion of the MD11?This option is available for the -400 so was very surprised to find that it is not included in the MD11.Never use VC in any aircraft and feel that I would be able to get more performance for my system if this option was available. I definitely notice as change in frame rate in the -400 when the VC is diabled.Appoligees if this has already been covered but would really like to know if im the only one who is a bit disapointed in this?Many thanksDean

You know after the update I was hoping the Dome light would work properly. Before the first update....I could illuminate the entire cockpit to 100 percent by pressing the DOME LIGHT. Now after the latest update, it seems after pressing the DOME light button, I only get a small amount of light illumination. ..NOT 100 percent. I am confused. This does not appear to be correct.Anyone else seeing this?And also what IS the correct way for the dome light to function ( I am thinking it would be similar to the one in my vehicle).Peter Osborn

Did anything change that would effect the speeds on APP or final in the update? I've only had time for one flight, but it seemed the plane didn't want to slow like it had before. I had to use the speed dial on the FCP to lower it below 245, and lowering slats and flaps didn't help. Then lowering gear and flaps to 28, I noticed the FMS speed was still too high to revert back to that mode. I hadn't done anything different than all this time with the MD. The selected APP was runway 35L at KSDF and was a straight in approach from KMEM (BNA.EWO.IIU). I found it a bit odd.

I downloaded the Mar 28 update and since then the DATA information is not working on the MD 11. On occasion it will only show something like lo 0.5. When I first installed the MD 11 altitudes, and time would show when I pressed the DATA button. Is this a problem that has developed since the new update came out or am I doing something wrong. Hi,I was recommended here at the forum still buying this MD-11 here although I stated my bad critisism rgarding the Navigraph AIRAC quality, which I was unsure about would destroy the joy of simming with this PMDG aircraft.Bad Navigraph quality or not; The PMDG MD-11 must be the ALL-TIME-HIGH product in the history of MSFS.It's said before and I will not try to make my positive response on the product more special or sphisticated as has been stated allready. Hi there:I decided to post this here for anyone that's been having problem with FS ATC not mentioning the airline callsign when using a PMDG aircraft.I've notice that on the aircraft.CFG file, the "atc_airline=callsign" the callsign is in CAPITAL letters , thus ATC being unable to recognize it. Just replace the capital for lower case letters, exemple: atc_airline=SWISSAIR to atc_airline=SwissairProbably most of you already know this but just in case someone else (like me) is having problems.Thanks. :( kfreire.

Hi there:Since I bought the new MD-11 , I've been having problems with the simulator crashing and giving me the blue screen.It all starts around 15 to 30 minutes of running the simulator, always with MD-11. (I also have the 747-400 and nothing like this happens.)I'm running the pre-flight check list when, boom , screen goes black , sound stops and computer crashes. I've had yet to taxi with this aircraft!!!This is a new system (4 months old). Hello all,Apologies if this has been asked and answered before but is the MD 11 available as an FS9 stand alone purchase?I cannot justify the cost of the combined package and also I'm not very sure my system would run this application satisfactorily in FSX. Hello,I have some strange issues when I run FSX (+acceleration) with my MD-11. I use Vista 64 with a Q6600 @ 3 Ghz, a 512MB Nvidia 8800GT card an 4GB RAM. When I fly about 20-30 min or longer and change to any FSX internal menu (map, button assignment and so on) and try to return to the sim, the screen turns black (sometimes some graphical fragments stay), but the sim is still running and I can normal callouts from the plane. Even when I try to change the sight it doesn't come back. When I save this flight (without any sight it's a bit tricky :-)) , end FSX and load it again it continoues without any errors.I made a clean install of FSX + Acceleration under a clean Windo…

G'day all, I have trawled across the net in search of a solution but no joy so far...Ok, so I have purchased and downloaded succesfully and saved the file to desktop. The first time I did this I was presented with a 'zip' folder which I could not do anything with. Couldn't open or extract it at all. Dear PMDG- The reason you cannot count me as a purchaser of the MD11 for FS9 is that it has yet to appear as a CD release. Please do not assume any declining interest in FS9 products. Had MD11/FS9 been released on CD by now, I would be one of your happy customers. Hopefully the new version of 737NG will be created also for us FS9 supporters- more than a few of us who insist on CD releases before purchase.(CD release signals to me "finally bug free" and a simple installation.)In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy your 737-700/800 and 747 FS9 products.Alex Reid
