PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I parked the airplane at the gate at CYYC and went through the standard shutdown. I then saved that flight thinking I could come back to it ready for the pre-flight. When I loaded up that saved flight the plane was at the gate but it was up and running, ready to go. I went through the whole exercise again thinking I must have missed something...same result. With other aircraft, if I save them cold and dark, I find them cold and dark when I re-load. Can someone tell me what's going on?Thanks,Eric

Hello everybody!!Today my PMDG MD-11X was delivered, but with many problems...If I install it, I don't have the PMDG menu at the task list on top in FSX and i can't start the load manager... My 2D panel is all brown and i almost can't click anything in 3d cockpit...Any ideas?Nils :(

Hello all,I have a problem after TOD. The MD11 takes a nose dive of 4000 ft/pm every time it starts its descent after TOD. Have policy descent on 280 kt. Use ASA as weather so I always fill in all items in forcast. Pls can somebody tell me what settings I should change, getting tired of all the coffee stains on the ceiling.Pieter

To assist the plane in descent, I dialed 5000 into the altitude window and approximately 5 NM from the T/D, I pulled the altitude knob. The plane lowered the nose, FMA indicated IDLE CLAMP. I thought it would be interesting to see what happens if PROF would be re-engaged, so after some seconds, I pushed PROF. The plane leveled instantly with HOLD 5000 announced in white.I didn't expect that behaviour and again pulled the altitude knob - without any effect. Pushing PROF again didn't have any effect too, so the only way to get a descent back was V/S mode. After a while in V/S, pushing PROF cleared up the situation and I was back on a managed descent.Can someone please tell …

Hello,I'm currently having a problem with the MD11 (FSX), every time I land I can't seem to slow down fast enough and always end up over running the runway. :(I'm usually doing about 80-90 knots once I reach the end of the runway, not sure why this is happening as I am following the tutorial.Could someone please let me know what the landing procedure is so I know I'm not doing anything obviously wrong, like when to disengage the auto pilot, this is for a dual land btw. 1.Route construction for SID and STAR portions is at times very interesting for me since the depiction of the lateral path on the ND is everything else than what I'd expect: Waypoints are generously bypassed, I get sharp edges and interesting turns etc. Sometimes, the strange paths "clean up" when the plane approaches the "problematic" portions, this is true especially for SID portions, whereas the ends of my flight plans are almost always flown "as shown on the screen". Note that I don't speak of SIDs and STARs in terms of predefined routes in the database, I mean that I enter runways and waypoints myself. Hi,in most part of the world, we use MAG instead of TRU. I have a problem with the MD11. I am at Paine Field KPAE on runway 16R, heading 162.I tune NAV1 to PAE VOR in the FMC NAV RAD page with radial 162 : PAE/162On the ND, the heading is correct, but the dashed line for radial 162 from PAE is heading towards about 140 degree that means about 22 degres to the left which is the magnetic variation at Paine Field.Now I initialize a route in the fmc, KPAE/LFPG for instance, choose runway 16R for departure, then the runway display on the ND is also to the left, not heading to 162 degree.I have the latest MD11 patch installed. I tried with AIRAC 0903 and 0904.St

Now that I'm very comfortable flying the MD11 in all conditions I've started doing short flights between OBBI - OKBK with the failure setting set at 20 failures per hour with a max of 10 failures. It's been lots of fun scanning the QRH for a fix and getting the aircraft down safely but I've got a few questions.1. Engine Vibration HI - This looks like a bug that was not fixed in the patch - When this failure occurs the EAD and master warning flashes on off constantly, could someone test this on there system?2. FIXEDOkay, I got it fixed. The problem is: that I have installed a TON of WOAI packages, and therefore - everytime I load up FSX I get around 200 messages saying that an AI aircraft have the same name bla bla bla.I just hold down the ENTER button for 20 sec and they are all gone, but since that the PMDG .dll file conformation is at default NO, I also pressed ENTER to that one.Silly me.Ps. This also happended for me with FSPassengersX, woooops.Beer is on me- Philip

I'm still getting a warning displayed "Door Open" when all doors are definitely closed. I even had, in the Misc display the detail that it was the left forward and middle cabin doors - but this was on the freight version! On the pax version, where it also occurs, I always go through the disarm/open/close/arm cycle to try and clear it but to no avail. Anyone else have this or something similar?Iain Smith

Hello,Before writing, I searched the forum to see if anyone had posted this topic, I did not find. The problem is when I land I have the auto breaks on( low or mid 1 or 2) based on the airport conditions and it works fine, but when my speed goes down I close the auto break off but the breaks still on, I press all buttons related to breaks to release but it does not affect then my MD11 completely stops on the RWY :( I uninstalled and reinsulated again but with no change :( Any Help please.Thank you Waleed

HiI have some trouble with shared cockpit functions that don't work with the MD-11 aircraft on multiplayer server. To join a shared cockpit works, but sharing panelinformation won't work. Ex: If copilot exctract the landing gear, it is not shown on the captains panel etc. The same thing for FMC, flaps-settings, overheadpanel buttons, speed brakes etc...Does anybody else have the same problem?If this is know bugs, is PMDG going to fix it?-- hansen --

Hey guys, i bought the PMDG MD 11 and i installed long time ago and today i tried to reinstall it everything went fine but when i go inside my vc or cockpit all my guages are black and my yoke is turned to the left and ect. I tried reinstalling and everything but ntohing worked. I reinstalled FSX and everyhting but nothings is working please helpI have Windows XP 32 Bit pro and 4 gb ram 2x 260 blackedition and quad core. Last week I posted a problem that I was having with the FSX MD-11 VC overhead panel. I didn't get any response probably because my problem wasn't stated very well so let me try again.I am having a problem with the switches and various indicator lights on virtual cockpit overhead panel not lighting up at all. The only items that are lighting up at all are the fuel qty indicators. This issue is only when in VC. In the 2D panel, all indicator lights are as they should be. Hey all,I'm busy trying to install the FSX MD-11 with/without the latest SP (used OS is Vista x64). Whatever I do, strange things happen like: I don't have under the Add-ons menu an option PMDG, The Load Manager shortcut doesn't work and gives the following failure "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect". The 2D cockpit shows nothing, except a grey background (see screenshot), The VC is dead although the engines are running. I uninstalled the whole PMDG MD11 package and re-installed it with/without the latest SP, but for all the same problems.Any idea's?
