PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi,i have been facing problems in md-11 ,upon loading the dark and cold panel,i get an initial message in my fmc showing sensor failure,and then the tat goes on increasing from an initial 14 C to 60 C,as a result of which i am not able to set a temperature for flex,this results in thrust problems with the engines not delivering enough power, i have uninstalled md-11 and face the same problems even after installing it again,i am not able to fly this aircraft at all,any suggestions would be welcomevivek

Hi,I have an interesting problem with the MD-11 sounds.I start out in 2D - no probs.If I switch to external view, then back again, *SOMETIMES* some audio from external view will continue in 2D/VC views, ad it requires cycling Q (QUIET) in FS to fix.This problem only affects CERAIN aircraft, not all, and is not unique to either the MD-11 or FSX. I also get this with SOME aircraft in FS2004. It is always the same aircraft with the faults, and the same problem always arises.Before I get told it is my sound hardware, this issue also plagued my previous computer system, with entirely different sound hardware.I have never found a solution, but I do know it is entirely aircraft-…

I've been able to start 3 engines at once with only APU bleed in the MD-11... Is that possible in RL? Is that a bug or something like that ??

fellow aviators,i am seeking an official copy of MD11 FlightPlanningPerformanceManual, any Fedex employees (or employees of a current MD11 operator) who may be able to assist? will gladly return favour by giving a copy of "real" copies (not current) 737, 767, 777, 747 flight/maint/fppm manuals. :D

Will the paintkit for FSX work for FS9? If not, are there plans to make a paintkit for FS9 for this aircraft? Thanks.

Hi I was wondering why I get disappearing textures on the MD-11. I used to get this issue in the 747X when i ran in windows xp 32 bit as well as OOM errors so upgraded to vista 64 bt and the problems went away. I recently got the MD-11 boxed version and have only flown the tutorial flight in it so far but both times about mid way textures in VC disappear and first flight i had black textures as well. I use the 747x, level D 767, CS 757 and dont have this issue with any of them only the MD-11.I have a 1 gig video card, 4 gig of system ram so dont see how i can be getting memory issues. Hi,Only very recently I started to fly the MD11, although I had it already for a while.Did 3 flights in the Martinair Freigther version. I must say this beauty is a challenge, specifically the AP/ATS system when you are mainly used to a Boeing system ;-)Anyway, what strikes me is the enourmous climb rate after take off, untill let's say FL200.Is it correct that with a TOW of about 200t-210t (440lbs-460lbs) this aircraft climbs easily between 3000 en 4000 ft/min untill FL200?I do realise the 200t is way under the MTOW, but still.Regards,Egbert

evening everybody,Tonight I have installed the MD11 boxed version in Fs-X.Installation ran ( with administrator rights) as expected and I installed one livery.After the installation I started Fs-X and I got the usual (and expected) warnings about the new dll's and if I wanted to accept them as safe.I did and fs-X started fine.However, when I got into the cockpit of the MD11, I only got the contours of the cockpit but no textures, no gauges.In fact there is also no pulldown menu for the PMDG aircraft.Shutting down the sim and restarting did no good either. Hi,For some reasons MCDU does not recognized this airport when I try to type KXXX/KPVD or KPVD/KXXX into FLIGHTPLAN page. All the other airports are OK and PMDG 747 FMC does see KPVD . Hi everyboby,I've just bought the MD11 it's a great aircraft.But i've recently observed an issue concerning the FMS coupling with the autoflight.During take off after about 400-600 feet FS9 freezed up. Hi, I have observed that the vertical F/D bar reacts more aggressive (faster pitch changes) on the FS9 version than with FSX. Especially on take off, the rate of the pitch up and down commands are faster than with the FSX Version. That makes it harder to keep V2 + 10. For the test I have used clear weather and 1/3 Pax with 49.000 kgs fuel, Flaps 20, no flex.Edit: Take a look at the rate of change at the VR callout. Its the best spot to see the difference. Could you please make the FS9 F/D reacting like the FSX Version, means less agressive in one of the next updates? Jan-Paul

In the 737/747 you can enter a fix in the FMC FIX page, which provides range rings around that fix on the ND. The distance of these rings can be set by typing the distance, like /40 (40 NM).I cannot get the same results in the MD-11 (FS9) with this method. How can this be done in the MD-11?Thanks.Eric

Hi,I would like to know how (generally speaking) the MD11 flies an approach specifically regarding speeds and flap settings.I have checked the real Flight Crew Operation Manuals and the ones of PMDG. They provide a lot of info but not all.Consider the following data:LW: appr. 195 TVcl min: 206Vsl min: 167Vf15 min: 160Vf28 min: 154Vref35: 152This is how I fly the approach and I wonder if it is more or less correct:- Within 30nm of airport and at FL70 -> Clean config and 225kts (= Vcl min + 20)- Within 5 nm of intercept localizer -> 180kts (= Vf15 min + 20) and flaps 15- Intercepting glide scope -> 160kts and flaps 35- At OM -> Vref35 + wind corr.Is this a/the …

I use Radar Contact, and so prior to TOD, I insert a fix in order to calculate the approprate TOD point. Initially, I enter an altitude restriction of FL120. But it seems the descent is started a few miles early, in order to reduce speed to 245kts by my 120 restriction.My question is, is there any way to remove the 250kt restriction below FL100, to force the FMC to calculate the descent at whatever the cruise speed is?The manual referes to changing the cruise altitide to get around this, but it wasn't very clear and doesn't go into any detail.I've tried entering the cruise speed with the altitude restriction, but it seems to have no effect on the TOD point, and you can se…
