HiI had a failure of F/O display units in flight (i select random failure generator) :( I had only Capt PFD and NDIn MCDU i had something like Sensor fail.Is it possible to reset this or make a XFER of the picture on F/O screens?Just curious.Btw , fantastic plane. Climbing out at approx FL100 I noticed ENG EGT HI warnings for each engine with the associated 1000+ egt highlighted in red. Although n1 remains in the 97% area, the aircraft will not climb above FL220. This is the second time I have seen this in some 20 flights and I cannot see any failure that could give this on three engines at once?Grateful for any help/advice John R

Hi, another question for MD-11 flyers.I've been experimenting how she reacts if all engine fails. So, I switched off all engines and deployed ADG. EMER PWR was automaticly turned on and I pressed ADG ELEC on overhead. Manuals say that ADG will provide electricity to captain's essential equipment and/or to first officer's one. But what happened was that the DUs 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 were powered and only DU 2 was blank. I thought that the captains displays are more essential than f/o's. Greetings all,In the MD11 Flight crew operating manual (FCOM), under the "normal procedures" section, there's a detailed checklist, starting with exterior observations and going into detail on each item. I also have the laminated checklist cards, but it doesn't list nearly as much as what's in the FCOM. Does anyone have an easy to read version of everything listed in the normal procedures section? For sim purposes, some of the items can be eliminated (outside observations and circuit breakers, for example). If not, I'll try to create one myself.Many thanks,Ron P.

Hello again. I seem to be having an issue every once in a while with the MCDU in the MD-11. I'm getting complete freezing of the simulator when I enter certain information in the MCDU - it seems to be related to the approach information when selecting runways or modifying the flight plan list. I believe this last one I just had occured when I accidentally tried to insert a waypoint on the line which said "END OF F-PLN". No CTD or messages, just a total freeze.I don't get this all the time, but only when fiddling with the MCDU and in this plane only. hello all, i did a flight on the fs9 md11 to KAUS (austin texas) loaded fmc radio nav with star BLEWE1 rw17R 110.95/173 which agrees with airac 0908 in Myairplane.com. at the appropriate time i clicked app/land and land armed did not appear, thinking i might have made an error along the way, i repeated the flight as before and the same thing happened no land armed. i then went into fs9 airport plan for KAUS and noted the ils for rw17r is 110.3. does this mean there is a conflict between fs9 airport data and the navigraph airac data for airport ils frequencies at KAUS and other airports similarly with ils frequency variations to the appropriate airacs. my reading of …

Good Evening, i recently bought PMDG MD-11, because i'd like to improve my Flight skills. There is unfortunately a very big problem. After i download the FSX selfsetup liveries from the PMDG site, i run the .exe file:1) If I leave the cartel, the program of installation give me (c:\\Programmi\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X), after the installation, FSX is not able to open itself, causing every times a big crash. Hello all,I'm probably doing something awful wrong here.Attached are two pictures illustrating what i'm trying to accomplish.Basically i setup VOR1 to 117.2/349 (CVV) wanting to fly to waypoint CANDL(circled in read) which is the intersection point between YYJ-R70 (VOR2) and CVV-R349.As you can see in the simulated picture. the HSI shows the intersection and CANDL should have been right here, however de facto CANDL is way off.Can you please PLEASE tell me what did i configure wrong ?Thank you so much in advance.Brain Wilkins.

Et. Al.Just curious if PMDG is able to supply a PDF version of the MD-11's weight and balance graph(s). I have a scanned copy of an MD-11F from a german outfit in faded quality, but if anyone out there is will to share /swap it would be great. I think it would allow people to have a better understanding of moments, index, the effect of adding fuel to specific tanks, and the over all weight and balance picture of the aircraft. If anyone has any charts and is willing to share, drop me and note in this thread and I'll drop you a PM and we can swap. Hi everybody!I was just flying a little trip from EGLL London to Frnkfurt EDDF using the MD11 in FS9 when, all of a sudden, i had this big little bug:As i was approaching the top of descent, the aircraft suddenly banked with no ailerons deflection as you can see on the SD...I will try now to recover this flight...I'll give more news later!'Bye!Please watch your language in the future... no official warning issued but next time for sure, thank you

Can anyone confirm that the MD11 FMS performance page will not update automatically like the progress page? It's been bugging me for a while but I assume it's how the real thing behaves.For example I'm on the ECON CRZ page 42 miles from TOD, the TOD will remain at 42 unless I click the perf key again to refresh. On the 744 the page refeshes automatically. Could anyone else confirm this?ThanksRob

I've noticed that when I fly the MD11 at night, there are no lights coming from any of the cabin windows. I've tried with different liveries (including the PMDG House livery) but none have any cabin night lighting.Is this normal for this product, or do I have to turn them on manually?Thanks,=Phil

Hi,MY graphics starting glitching in multiple different 3D apps under both Vista and XP. The MD-11 seems to be the first to show symptoms of this problem.The two things I did that directly affect the MD-11:1) I re-installed my graphics drivers for Vista. Note that I used the same version that I had been using previously.2) My card was overheating so I blew out what dust there was, and everything seems fine now.#1 was a possible fix as this fixed specific glitching in another program, however, the MD-11 no longer crashes when I switch day to night or vice-versa, and does not go transparent mid-flight (I was losing the VC with the update for no apparent reason).If you suffe…

Hello folksWhen i deploy flaps i dont see them properly deployed outside on the aircraft model, only the inboard flaps are moving, the outboard ones stay up. Also the speed brakes, i only see the left wing ones move, nothing happens on the right wing.Aerodynamically things are good, takeoffs and landings are no problem, right on the numbers. All indications are good and correct, and the F/O even calls speed brake deployed on touch down!.Any thoughts?Stuart

Well, I have just learned that Arrow Air Cargo (a longtime DC-10 operator) has begun MD-11 ops, albeit in World Airways colors for the moment.Maybe that fantasy Arrow Air MD-11F paint we have, will not be a fantasy much longer.I found a pic of the Arrow flight in World colors on airliners.net but so far, no definitive purchase of an MD-11 by Arrow that I know of...

How do you perform several touch and go procedures in an MD-11 without battling the FMC every time? I like perfecting my landings with it, and that's why I want to do a circling pattern around the airport and land every 5-10 min. But this bird is not making it easy. It seems like it's easier with a Boeing, or I might be mistaken. Either way, check out this video. I wanna do exactly what's being done there. PS: I know this procedure is done mostly in GA planes, but airliners are fully capable, or at least should be capable of doing them aswell. Would love to hear some suggestions.

Hello,I've recently bought the boxed editions of both the MD-11 and 747-400.What really hinders me from really enjoying these master pieces is the servely reduced FPS during the initial flight phase.Before you throw some accusations at me, let me assure you that my machine is highly optimized. Hi folks!I noticed that on the md11, during crosswind landings, the nose is perfectly aligned with the runway whereas the main landing gear is not. I checked in the documentation and found that the ILS antennas are situated in the nose landing gear which seems to be logical. But i was wondering whether it is safe and realistic to do so, as I read a lot of pilot's stories dealing with crosswind landings in 747. They were all saying that because of the wind, "they" (refering to the pilots' view which can be considered as the nose landing gear) were aligned on the grass, whereas the main landing gear was perfectly aligned with the runway.
